I got nothing to loose, I didn't do many shoots yet in my life and I still have lots of stuff to learn and improve but would like to hear what to improve in your eyes. I had a break in modeling for over a year or so and now came back, since I did it I had only 2 shoots now I booked more and we will see the results :) Hopefully it will be better and better, so now I will be patient and I will wait for your opinion.

Cheers,

Kamilka Meerkat :)

Oh, go on then.. let me have it..

Hello!

This shot is quite cool, a nice creative feel to it. You show off your hair style well with this pose but your makeup looks a little messy and is not blended very well.

Its nice to see a full smile in your portfolio and also good to have a location shot to add variety to your portfolio. the highlights are blown out but this isn't your fault.

Cool pose and expression, the lighting is gorgeous in this shot.

Love the colour tones in this next shot. Your pose is fairly standard although it does show off this outfit well.

You have some good photographs in your portfolio, I can tell you have worked with some talented photographers. I would suggest that you work on your expression as it is similar in a lot of your photographs. I would also advise that you work on your poses, don't be afraid to do something a bit crazy or more expressive.

You have a very strong look and I think you could do well as a model all you need to do is shoot more and get a strong portfolio together with even more variety.

Hope this helps.

I would love to get some feedback please

Hello!

Lets start with your cover image,

This is quite a cool shot I like the contrast and connection from the model. The highlights on her nose, cheekbone and lip are a bit distracting and make her skin look greasy. Could you use the patch tool to remove them?

Your model in this one looks like she is unsure of what she is doing and that dress isn't very flattering.

Also the fence in the background in a meadow? its a bit confusing as to the location.

I guess you have used available lighting in this shot? your model is looking down which puts her face in shadow.

always try and get lighting on your models face unless the shot is artistically set up to not show her face off.

Cool location, again you need more light on your models face.

I quite like how quirky this shot is. She looks as if she is offended by the sign. Good composition. There is a little white bit on the side of her shoe which is a little distracting, maybe clone it out?

Super blurry picture.

I don't understand why she is facing the other way in this shot. That's all the viewer thinks when looking at this shot.

This one is out of focus.

this one is also out of focus.

You need to work on your lighting, make sure the models face is always lit well and if you can get catch lights in her eyes to make them look more alive. You also need to get the focus right on your models, their faces and eyes should always be in focus. You have worked with a couple of good models, you just need to perfect your lighting and focus.

You should also try and just keep the best photos from each shoot you do to keep up the variety in your portfolio. Remember quality over quantity.

Hope this helps.

hello wondering if you could do mine  let the butt hurt begin lol

dnt like when ppl just say its good need some proper advice even if it is bad

hi

lets start with your cover photo

The model is out of focus. the wall is in the focus. Your model should be in focus.

Your lighting is fairly well balanced but you have over photo shopped her eyes making them look unnatural, too sharp and toxic green.

This photograph is underexposed and the composition could be better, her head is too close to the edge of the frame, shot from a different angle maybe closer to her face shooting down her body could give you more control over composition whilst still getting her all in the shot?

This shot is quite different, not many people shoot male models on pp. He looks as though he has his shoulders shrugged and his neck seems to have disappeared, he looks a little uncomfortable IMHO. is it just me or do his legs look really short compared to the rest of his body? I guess that's because his clothes are so baggy? is he hunching over? seems to make the shot a bit awkward and uncomfortable.

Love the colours in this shot, her eyes are too bright and I would have liked to have seen her feet included in the shot as they have been chopped in your framing. Also the holes near the crotch in her jeans let the image down a bit.

I think you need to work on your studio lighting and also try not to photoshop eyes unnaturally, they should be lit the same as the face is so they don't look out of place. when you compose your images think about where you want everything to be, try not to chop off limbs, tops of heads etc. Look at the rule of thirds for composition.Try to avoid using out of focus images as they let your portfolio down.

Keep shooting and working with new models as you get more pics it would be good to narrow down your portfolio to one image per shoot to keep you variety throughout your portfolio.

Hope this helps

Cool thread, would be great to get your feedback (no holds barred) if you are willing, thanks.

Hello!

Lets start with you cover and profile pic

I love the muted colours in this shot.  Great connection with the model and a natural pose and lovely lighting.

Do you really need the black border? its so harsh for the muted tones in the image and I think it would work better as an image without the border, or even if you lightened it to match the black of her bra so it isn't so overpowering?

I would also suggest using two different images for your cover and profile picture. Maybe use this as your profile pic because it works well compositionally.

Stunning, Love the contrast and tones in this image. Your model is perfectly exposed and the composition is fantastic. Great use of natural light coming through the windows.

Another beautiful image. Fantastic lighting, the fabric pics up the light perfectly and her face is lit nicely too. Lovely pose and expression. Overall the room and the floor are a tiny bit too dark IMHO but that could be down to my screen or you not wanting to blow the highlights by lightening the image.

The crop for this one is a little too close for me, I would have allowed more room above her elbow and maybe would have included her feet in the image. Her expression doesn't do it for me either, maybe would have liked a bit more intensity.

Love the simplicity of this shot. I guess the grain/noise was intended? Love the simple, even lighting.

Not sure on this one, its a bit too fuzzy for me and her cropped out fingers bug me. Her hand and arm have also disappeared in the highlights from the window. Not sure where the focus is either.

This is cool, love the colour tones and that you have used the branch as an important element in the image. lovely lighting and depth of field.

Ok so your work is really good, your lighting and focus are pretty much spot on. One thing that has cropped up (excuse the pun) is your framing, there are a lot of chopped off limbs, tops of heads and fingers which is a basic no no in my opinion. There are three photos from the same shoot which are quite similar that I would think about narrowing down, the one with the model near the bookshelves.

Keep up the good work, you just need to focus on getting limbs, heads and fingers in unless it is a super close up shot.

Hope this helps

Thank you x

Hello!

This is a beautiful shot

Love the intensity in your gaze and your hand placement. The good location ad lighting shows off your skin tone well.

To be honest this photograph doesn't do you justice, your facial expression isn't great and your skin could do with some retouching around your eyes, something your photographer could have done. Also your roots show through quite prominently.

You have a couple of this styling and lighting next to each other in your portfolio. To keep your variety I would chose the best from the three in your port which is probably this one below

Although still not a brilliant photo. The lighting is quite flat and your arm covering your back curve gives the illusion you may be bigger than you are. Not your most flattering photo.

I quite like this headshot, you have a mischievous look in your eyes that engages the viewer. The shot next to this one is the same but from a slightly different angle BUT it shows the cold sore/ dry patch on your lip which isn't good for a portfolio image!

This is a cool pose and dress. You look a little annoyed. The image itself is underexposed.

So many of your photographs have been shot at exactly the same location you have just changed your outfit, there is no change to your makeup or hair and the angle hasn't really been changed when taking the photos. You need variety. You have 29 images in this exact location! If I were you I would choose a maximum of 5, one being your profile picture and the others with different outfits or a headshot. but just one of each. Quality over quantity.

This is an awesome pose and good styling. You look good in this photo and it is well lit too.

Your toe has been cropped off, your arms look short and your face and breasts are strangely placed together. Not a particularly flattering shot from this angle, Your photographer could have taken this from the side to keep you arms in proportion and to show the shape you are making rather than it looking 2D from this angle.

This is well posed and your expression and styling is really good. but your thumb has been cropped out!!! Photographer has done everything else so well in this photo such a shame about the thumb!

wow! awesome pose and expression! so good! love your styling. well done you.

The image itself is a little too bright especially on your hair, top of your stockings and dress but your pose and expression still make them image awesome.I would just keep this one in with this styling, removing the 'knife happy' shot before and possible the beach one with this same dress on to keep your variety and quality up.

Strong shot, well posed, good expression and styling.

nice to see a change of hair colour, shows you are versatile, cool pose and expression. The image is overexposed though.

You have loads of potential and some good shots. It would benefit your portfolio if you worked with some more professional photographers who can light you perfectly. Narrow down your portfolio to one or two shots from each shoot to avoid similar photos in your portfolio sometimes you can get away with more if the angle significantly changes the look of the photograph.

Your more extravagant poses work best and experimenting with expression will help you improve your portfolio, maybe a nice smile in a natural photograph?

Hope this helps
