A little feedback is always helpful. If you have time, I'm in too.

Hello,

Lets start with this one

lovely soft lighting which emphasizes her tattoo and curves. Not sure if this shot communicates a lot with the viewer.

This one has an interesting idea. The composition is unusual and the background is a really distracting, it is if you are trying to show the background and murky details within it as an important element of the image and then the woman also, I'm not sure of the connection between the two elements. Your model is underexposed also.

Interesting capture. love the detail. Nice depth of field.

This is an interesting image, very unique style of image. love the muted colours.

This one confuses my mind because of the parting hair and strange framing, the shot itself is fairly plain and not creatively lit or composed. Not your best image in my opinion.

I don't understand what you are trying to communicate with this image. Is there a concept to this?

I love this shot, great use of colour and depth of field.

Your best work is definitely your more creative stuff. I am a bit perplexed about some of your images' meanings. I would suggest working on what you are trying to communicate with your work. Try and use props that work together and try keeping one image from each shoot in your portfolio rather than having a few of the same shot. Working on your focusing and framing may be beneficial.

I would also suggest refining your uploaded images just to include portraits to add focus to your portfolio. That's if you want to of course.

Hope this helps :D

Hello!

Lets start with this one:

I love how you have balanced the light between the sunlight and your flash. The colours are lovely and your focus is perfect. The only thing that I would pick up on is the flare that surrounds the top part of her head/face, I would maybe try and darken/clarify her face a little just to remove the effects of the flare.

It is always good to experiment and painting with light is always a fun one to experiment with, however your model is out of focus and her up the nose pose and lighting on her is not very flattering. Do you have another from this set with a better pose and nicer lighting on your models face? Her hair and shadow of her hair is quite messy and a quick blemish removal would have been beneficial too.

Lovely lighting, composition, detail and framing. One thing, there is a spot on his back/bottom of his neck, use photoshop to spot heal it to remove the distracting spot and this shot will be perfect.

This one is quite cool, I like how you have experimented with the flare above her head as some perfume adverts have also done this. I would suggest spot healing her skin again to remove those blemishes to make this shot better. The composition could be better if her face and the perfume were slightly closer together. look at the rule of thirds to help compose two focal points within an image.

Love the composition and setting. The depth of field is good and your models pose shows her outfit off well. This shot could maybe use a tiny but more contrast. but other than that it's pretty good.

Your model is underexposed and this pose is often unflattering as is shortens the torso when shot straight on like this.

This shot is underexposed also. are you using a light meter?  Whites should be white, not grey and they should have some detail in the creases. the white tshirt is grey. up your exposure, you can do this on photoshop for this one to get the exposure correct. I would simply increase the brightness a little bit.

You have a lot of potential, you need to start using photoshop subtly to remove blemishes and to correct exposure on shots you have already taken. When you are shooting, use a light meter to get your exposure correct. To get a high key set up step your model away from the backdrop and light her a stop or two less than what you light your background. Light the two separately to control your light levels. Usually for a high key set up I would use two lights placed at the same distance from the background on either side of your model but slightly behind so no light from these fall on her. set the two lights at the same f-stop but one or two stops higher than the lighting on your model. Watch for flare and for light fall off on your backdrop when you shoot (fall of is where the backdrop appears grey in places if your lights aren't position correctly.) light your model separately, and a stop or two less than your backdrop, from the side of her or above the camera will give you a good light set up. (she needs to be far enough away from your backdrop to stop the light on her reaching the backdrop although it shouldnt matter too much as the background will be a stop or two higher) Expose for your model using a light meter.

Hope this helps!

Hi!

First impressions, Your portfolio looks professional and you have chosen good images for your cover and avatar.

Beautiful shot, your expression is captivating, your hair is very well styled and the image is technically perfect also. Fantastic image.

This is quite a surreal shot, I'm  not sure what it is about but you have modelled it well, nice expression and your hands are nicely relaxed. I'm not sure about the shadow over your eye, I would suggest just keeping one shot from this photoshoot in your profile to keep the variety. Personally I prefer this one below and would keep this one in instead as the lighting on your face is better in my opinion:

Love the colours in this shot. Your eyes look great in this photograph pink is definitely your colour.

This is a very cool, professional looking shot. nicely framed, lit and modelled. Your pose is awesome, it shows off your curves and your legs well. Definitely a keeper!

I really love this shot, you look fantastic, great pose and outfit. shame the lighting could not be more focused on you and less  on the wall as it would really make this shot perfect. Maybe ask Zaki to lighten you a little bit if you feel its appropriate.

This one is a bit too over photoshopped in my opinion, your eyes are way to bright and saturated and although a good headshot is always beneficial for your portfolio I would maybe consider replacing this one with a better head shot when you get one.

Love your pose and expression. Shame your feet have been chopped when framing as these images are very nicely shot.

I'm not so keen on your pose in this image it's not your most flattering image.

same with this one:

Not the most flattering pose.

You have a lot of high quality images in your portfolio. I would suggest narrowing down on the number of images and just keep the best ones in. I can help with this if you like. pm me and we'll find a way to do this via comments or something if you want help.

Very good work, I would suggest getting some more head shots in your portfolio as you don't have very many and it would be beneficial for getting you work.

Hope this helps

Thanks for taking part.

Feel free to run the rule over any of my shots.

Hello!

It is nice to see a portrait photographer who photographs old and young people on PP.

However this image does not fit in your current portfolio:

As it is not a portrait shot, maybe use this one on flickr or fb?

This is a nice shot, lovely lighting, contact with the model is good  and her makeup is well done. Her hand looks a little awkward coming in from the side like that and her left side (below her hand) looks quite wide because of her pose, I would suggest cropping this shot and editing out the hand .. (this is really hard to explain so here's a mock up) ((I hope you don't mind))

This brings the focus into your model, removes the distracting hand and avoids the wide looking side.

Very detailed shot and the colours are really nice. The highlights in the wall behind her and the loose hairs on the clothing are a little distracting, did you sharpen this image? if you did maybe just sharpening her skin would have make the other distractions less prominent. Also have you tried turning this one black and white to see how it looks? I would maybe crop the left hand side where there is the gap in the wood and the lighter part next to the gap (about a thumbs worth of crop from the left)

This is a fun shot, nice use of colours.

This one is awesome :D love the action and focus.

You have some cool images in your portfolio, I love that you shoot all types of people.

I've just noticed this image also:

Such a lovely lovely image great energy!

Lots more images like this please! :D

I would also suggest shooting some more studio images or doing some more street photography, maybe asking interesting people in the street if you can photograph them? Maybe do a little project?

Keep up the good work.
