Tale of the Cheap Straw Hat.

I was browsing in my favourite charity shop in Romsey last summer (2022) when I saw one of the volunteers removing this straw hat from the polystyrene head it had adorned. I asked her if someone had bought it and she said No: - she had decided it was just too tatty to sell and so she was about to throw it out. Being rather fond of tatty things, I said I'd like to buy it. I asked what she'd take for it. I was expecting her to say £1 or 50p but her answer was 20 pence. How could I resist? :-D
