Vicious Pirate 'Cut-Throat Jake' was once regularly on our screens in episodes of Captain Pugwash. However, with no new episodes being made and a general lack of demand for evil cartoon pirates on television these days, he has in recent years been working as a consultant to Somali pirate captains in the Horn of Africa. He acted as consultant on pirate matters during the making of the 2013 Tom Hanks movie 'Captain Phillips'.
Okay maybe I 'embroidered' the truth a little there: - the subject is actually photographer friend Martin (snapped by me at a photographic meetup held in his home studio.) Disappointingly, I understand his real-life job has little to do with pirates.
