I had a fabulous second shoot with the talented Stuart last week, spaced nearly two years apart from our first shoot. Our first shoot was memorable, at his home in Glasgow, and I remember it for being not only a bespoke shooting space but a productive creative experience with excellent company. I was happy to discover our second shoot, after a very eventful two years on my part - was even better.

Stuart came all the way to my farmhouse in Cumbria, and was a keenly observant guest from the moment he arrived, complimenting my coffee tables etc. This is the most desirable attitude a photographer can posess, as I also am passionate about the details and character of my home, which goes largely unnoticed by others. I look for creatives who can share in my enthusiasm.

We had a quick catch up on life events and then got to work - knocking the first few images out of the park. Because Stuart is such a keen observer of natural light opportunities, and has the best possible demand of his gear to make the images magical, we did not need to fuss around or experiment much with settings and styling to instantly make great portraits.

Despite not needing to experiment much to get results, the shooting time flew by. We ended up doing only half of our allotted hours on set, and the other half was spent in deep discussion of our photography theories and ideas. It was a time warp - I shoot nearly every day at home, and never feel rushed - however we were so locked into our topics that we ran out of time without my noticing.

What we did not make in quantity we achieved in quality, and we both agreed they are some of our best photos to date.

Stuart is a compelling creative force who is able to produce results that would inspire any artisan. He has strong opinions which I deeply value and appreciate - our discussion was deep and meaningful - a sign of a lasting collaboration in the making. He was generous, equitable, and committed to creating the shots I had in mind, even if he wasn't fully on board with my styling at some points. He was a polite guest and wonderful company.

I'm honored I've gotten to work with him as I've been slowly settling into UK and on the come up of better dreams, focus, and execution. I feel he sees me for what I will ultimately achieve in the art world, and I want to make him seen for the same. I will work with him as frequently as he will let me.

Stuart Malcolm, an exceptionally talented photographer with whom I recently had the pleasure of working with.

Stuart's spontaneous advertisement led to a meeting within a few hours, and our collaboration resulted in some truly remarkable shots utilising natural light.

Throughout the shoot, Stuart demonstrated an impressive level of attentiveness and skill in providing direction. His ability to make me feel comfortable and at ease was particularly noteworthy, creating an environment that was both relaxed and productive. Stuart took the time to thoroughly understand my vision, engaging in meaningful discussions about photography with and modelling, which significantly contributed to the success of our session.

We have already made plans to work together again, and I am genuinely looking forward to our future collaborations. I highly recommend Stuart for his professionalism, creativity, and dedication to his craft!

Stuart is dedicated to getting the photos to work the way he imagines them to and it is obvious how much care he takes to position everything just right. Golly where do I start? From the get go Stuart emanated such a direct, positive and capable energy towards the shoot despite being fairly new to the genres i specialise in (Art Nude). He was cordial yet down to earth and wanted to ask all the relevant questions so that we could both go into the shoot as comfortable as possible.

When I got to his beautiful space I was genuinely blown away by the scenic shooting options. We ran out of time because he immersed himself into each set and knows how to creatively build lighting around any idea.

He makes shooting look easy and effortless and yet incorporates his whole mind and body to the craft, leaping and laying to get good angles and using handheld filters for analogue special effects.

He gives great feedback while shooting and also offered many other generosities like a ride from the station and finely made coffee at the shoot.

Recommended to any model.

I’ve shot with Stuart while on vacation in Scotland in 2021 and 2022. The images he produces are always high end. His skin retouching is flawless. I shot with several photographers while in Glasgow, and his images are by far my favorite. Communication was always amazing and he was very receptive to all of my ideas. He was always very respectful and I never once felt uncomfortable in his presence. If I ever had trouble struggling with posing or ideas, he was always there with helpful ideas. Shoots were always so relaxed and fun. His has a very creative eye, honestly a true artist, images are always gorgeous, 10/10 recommend.

I had such a great shoot with Stuart yesterday. Communication before, during and after the shoot was great, he picked me up (and also dropped me off) from the train station. The shoot was in his home studio, he was super nice & really friendly and made me feel relaxed. We made a lot of jokes during the shoot, he had really great ideas and was good at diving directions during the shoot. He even edited one of my favourite images right after the shoot and let me choose photos that I like the most. I am so happy with the results. I had a shoot with Stuart a few weeks ago after he was highly recommended to me by a friend, and he did not disappoint. Stuart's communication before and during the shoot was amazing. He came well prepared, had brilliant ideas and was willing to change things up and experiment.

We shot at my new studio space and Stuart was amazing at finding different ways of using the space, ways that didn't even cross my mind.

Stuart is polite and funny, it felt like spending an afternoon with an old friend, sure as hell didn't feel like we had only met a few hours prior.

I have already seen some of the images from this shoot and I am beyond over the moon with them. How I am going to pick the ones to post I have no idea! Stuart is a beautiful photographer and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I cant wait to hopefully work with him again soon.

Shooting with stuart was one of those shoots where i think, god i wish every shoot could be like this! What a laugh we had! Stuart reached out to me to book me for my Glasgow tour in his home studio which is very conveniently located next to cessnock subway station. I felt relaxed comfortable and safe at all times, there were endless offers for cups of tea and some chocolates too! The studio was a really relaxed enviroment shooting on a stunning new handpainted background. As previously mentioned i dont think there was a sentence missed were either one of us didnt crack a joke. The time honestly flew by. We managed to get quite a few array of outfits done and throughout the shoot stuart kindly showed me the back of the camera and the shots were stunning! Cannot wait to see the finished product, i would definitely shoot with him again and recommend shooting with him to any model!

Fantastic shoot I had with Stuart! Having had some time away I was slightly nervous but Stuart put me at ease right away and was so easy to chat to!

His studio flat was ideal and beautifully furnished! He was very hospitable with cups of coffee and biscuits. We chatted at length about how the shoot would go and any ideas we could create.

It was a very wholesome and relaxing shoot and Stuart is amazing at what he does!

I really enjoyed the shoot with Stuart. We connected through a Facebook group we are both part of and he was really friendly to speak to. He is considerate and chatty. We did the shoot at his flat and I instantly felt comfortable in his presence. Stuart was very accommodating- offering water or tea, making sure I was warm enough and allowing me plenty of time and space to change in between shoots. Expect the shoot to be handled professionally with great attention to detail, the perfectionism that Stuart has is evident in his work. I love the photos we produced and I very much look forward to whenever we can shoot again. I would recommend any model to work with him!

Well what can I say!! I felt like I was shooting with a friend I had known forever even though it was our first time meeting. Stuart has a gorgeous flat with beautiful wooden floors, perfect for shooting natural shots. His set up was professional and we were very quickly bouncing ideas back and forth. Stuart is very good at giving direction and also taking on board new ideas. I am so excited to see the outcome of this shoot as I think we have created some great images! Had a really fantastic shoot with Stuart Malcolm during my Tour to Glasgow at my hired Apartment.

Communication’s and planning were just excellent. Stuart put so much effort into brainstorming and planning concepts which I really appreciated. As a result the shoot went smoothly and had a clear direction.

On the day of shooting Stuart brought along some high end photography equipment and basically transformed the Apartment into a Studio. It was amazing!

This was such a creative shoot and I just loved every minute of it. Stuart is so great to bounce ideas of and let’s you try out new things. He’s also really respectful and made me feel relaxed and at ease during the shoot.

This time we shot in his new apartment which was great as there was a lot of space with brilliant natural light and lots of different areas to shoot in so we could create many styles. Would 100% recommend Stuart to any creative. He always has good ideas and is always wanting to try new things. I loved the images.

I had the funnest and most energetic shoot with Stuart today in Glasgow! Stuart is a fantastic photographer, with a great eye for angles and detail. He is really relaxed in trying whatever pops into your head and he also gives direction really well (which is super helpful). A genuine and down to earth guy, and has good banter too. For a last minute shoot Stuart absolutely smashed it and he was really fast at setting the studio up for the best shots. The previews looked great and I can’t wait to post the final images. I had such a wonderful shoot with Stuart on my recent trip to Edinburgh!

We had booked in advance and everything went so smoothly, Stuart had travelled from Glasgow to kindly work with me on a boudoir shoot and I'm so glad he did!

Stuart gives very clear directions that makes it easy to know what he is trying to achieve. He made me feel at ease throughout the entire shoot.
