Misuzu

I shoot with Steve on a regular basis and each time we get some amazing images. Steve is so lovely to be around and a great photographer to. I always look forward to our shoots... And seeing Mickey too of course!

This last shoot involved John, another photographer that we have worked with before. The three of us explored a location that I had found and we had a great shoot. Both Steve and John got lovely images of me (and they were two very different sets of images despite being shot in the same place!)

Steve and I first shot together five years ago, roughly.

He introduced me to Misuzu two years back.

We shot again with Misuzu today.

Steve is laid back, polite, competent: a delight to work with.

Excellent conversation - especially with Misuzu along - and he knows far more about hte natural environment than I do - always a big advantage shooting in the outdoors. Educational, even!

Did a shoot with Steve a while ago and he is an absolutely awesome guy to work with. Pre comms were faultless he has a wicked sense of humor and just all round awesome.

I highly recommend him to anyone and I do hope we get to work together again soon.

Misuzu

I had a fantastic shoot with John and Steve on Tuesday. I had shot with Steve a few times before, but this was my first time shooting with John.

I had a wonderful time with the pair of them. We drove around to several locations and the weather was lovely. Both photographers got some lovely shots of me. Both John and Steve made sure I was comfortable at all times and had enough breaks to warm up when I was shooting with my feet in cold water!

I thoroughly recommend Steve, as I've said in my previous references. We always have a lovely time together and get some wonderful shots.

Steve and I arranged a first joint shoot nearly 3 years ago: we had our second today.

He's a quiet, polite and gentle tog, who loves the outdoors, and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of locations in Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

An absolute delight to work with as a tog, and clearly a favourite with models, as well - highly competent, and always attentive to the model's needs. He clearly values models' ability to be at ease in nature, and produces work that shows them as delightful wood nymphs and water sprites. But not in a Disneyesque way: think more of a cross between Arthur Rackham and Gaughin!

Thanks, Steve - a delightful and productive day, and excellent company!

Me and Steve shoot together on a regular basis and I've left him references before... I just wanted to reiterate some of the points I've made previously.

A shoot with Steve is always fun, full of giggles and the time simply flies. Steve knows so many truly beautiful places to shoot... I've lost count of how many times we've worked together but he still keeps taking me to new locations, or different parts of the same locations so we always get something different... I can't believe we are still getting new and exciting images after how many times we've teamed up!

Steve is a friendly and easygoing person and a fantastic photographer with a creative mindset. I recommend him 100% and always look forward to our shoots!

Oh yeah, and Mickey (canine companion, assistant, and part-time model) is absolutely delightful too.

Another lovely shoot with Steve! I definitely recommend working with him. We get along so well which really shows in the images we produce. Each shoot gets better and better.

Steve has so many fantastic locations to shoot, and his lovely dog being around just makes the whole experience better :)

He is always so considerate when shooting, making sure I have enough breaks and am comfortable. We couldn't have asked for better weather for our shoot this time (usually, it's a little cold!)

It had been several years since Steve & I worked together and I really was looking forward to meeting up again! Steve has always been very considerate during shoots and always finds beautiful locations for us to work at and this shoot was no different!

We worked at several locations during the time we had, each something different and interesting to pose myself in/around. We weren't interrupted at all and Steve had found some really great places! A few of the locations were not easy to get to but Steve was patient and helped where necessary. I even brought my "chaperone" (read: Labrador) along this time and the whole day was just so much fun! I really did enjoy catching up and shooting together again, I can't recommend Steve highly enough. He really is just great to work with!

Hoping for many more opportunities to shoot together again!

Had my first shoot with Steve today.

He arrived on time with his beautiful dog that would be accompanying us on our location shoot today...which i loved!

Steve is a lovely, professional, caring soul with a phenomenal talent in photography.

He was understanding when i got a bit nervous (due to a member of the public being intrigued, and peeping from across the meadow) and managed to balance me again with wonderful chit chat.

After polite, enthusiastic direction...Steve would frequently reiterate that i didnt have to do anything pose wise...if i was in any way uncomfortable. And if i made a suggestion regarding a pose...he would scan the area for possible mishaps first and make sure he mentioned them: weak branches or wobbly walls, for example.

His feedback, reassuring.

His energy, refreshing.

His eye for an image, keen.

His humour and perspective on life, open minded.

10/10.

Thank you so much Steve; already looking forward to working with you again in the (i hope) not too distant future.

Artemis Fauna

I worked with Steve earlier this week on a three hour location shoot while I was on a mini tour.

Despite the weather not quite playing ball it held out (mostly) for our nude location shoot! Phew ;)

We had a great three hours, lots of chatting, shooting and having a fun time. The images I have seen look lovely and natural and we are already talking about sorting another shoot out :)

Steve was great to work with, very laid back, gentle and kind- he never pushed me to shoot anything I didn't want too and made sure I was OK at all times.

I am looking forward to next time, thank you, Steve :)

Had my second shoot with Steve last Monday.

It was a location shoot and it was cold. He was very considerate and made sure I took enough breaks to warm up. We worked well together, quickly achieving the shots we both wanted. Steve was very happy to let me input my own ideas too!

Definitely recommend working with him! Can't wait for some warmer weather so we can work together again!

I had a great shoot with Steve on Tuesday. He picked me up at the station on time and was very friendly and easy to work with. As we were shooting on location, he was very considerate of the fact it was cold and went out of his way to make sure I was alright throughout the shoot, making sure I knew I could stop to warm up at any time.

Great pre-shoot communication, friendly person and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him and hope to work with him again soon. The pictures I've seen so far are great!

Had a most enjoyable shoot with Steve who to his credit, was not feeling 100% on the day but did not wish to let me down. Steve is a clearly highly experienced, passionate and knowledgeable photographer / artist with a specialism in both Landscapes and Nudes in the Landscape and it was for that reason I approached Steve to work with me.

From the outset, everything could not have been better - communication pre and during the shoot was fantastic - I found Steve to be highly personable and a good communicator who is able to put model's at ease and get the best from them. He is utterly professional at all times.

He also had some amazing locations he took me to - which included a quarry, a woodlands with stream and some waterfalls - being a landscape photographer he has a very indepth knowledge of the area and knows where the best settings are and when settings those settings will work best in terms of lighting, which particular plants will be in bloom, likelihood of being secluded enough etc etc which are obviously tied in with timings.

I cannot recommend Steve highly enough and very much look forward to working with him on a more regular basis in the future now that I am shifting down his way. Thank-you Steve xx

Another great shoot with steve again, please see my earlier reference also. He took me to some great locations again and was very gentlemanly and considerate. We had a laugh and a joke and some good banter. He protected me from the creepy crawlies too :) Very relaxed and fun shoot again and towards the end i didnt want to leave when the sun was out i just wanted to sunbathe in the nude lol. Micky the dog came along again too i love him hes so cute. If you havent worked with steve yet but are considering it you definitely should, as well as all the great references his port also speaks volumes.

After a long time of me & Steve trying to arrange a shoot it finally pulled through, we had a brilliant day adventuring around the Derby Dales, Steve is a lovely photographer to work and was very considerate throughout the day. Steve is a very creative photographer knowing the best locations to shoot around the area.

I thoughaly enjoyed the day & the photos so far look excellent, Im looking forward to working with Steve again.

Oh my goodness! A blast from the past, I worked with Steve about six years ago with my best friend Lucy A. What a fantastic shoot, it's the first time I've seen your work and I just found your picture "a walk in the woods on a tumblr site entitled "early morning after the solstice celebration" . The spooky thing about that is it was shot on the 21st June Lucy's birthday if you remember we shot? My birthday is on the 21st march the spring equinox, so I guess we are pagan wood nymphs haha! Love the shot, and would happily work with you again :)

Steve and have commented on each other's work on Ephotozine for a couple of years now - it was kind of Steve to organise a joint shoot with Rose Aurora today.

I normally work alone - it was delightful to be able to step back when I ran out of ideas, and to be able to feed off their work, as well as bringing my own wheezes along.

For those who don't normally work with others - give it a try - it's fun.

At least - it is when the individual is as focussed, model-friendly, and generally considerate as Steve is. A good day.

Just had a shoot with Steve and it was so great!! Never really done any outdoor art nude stuff before so this was new to me but we got some fantastic images and had a great time! He is a lovely man and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him, he made me feel so comfortable and we had a lot of good chat which is always great. It was freezing and wet but thanks to Steve the day felt so warm :) definitely recommend he is an exceptional photographer! Thanks again xx
