Paul Allen

I'm a hobbyist photographer living in north west Leicestershire. I've have had a camera since I was a child just taking snap shots then getting more involved with taking images, with my interest in vintage vehicles, building, motorsport and table top work. Then at the end of 2017 I joined a group in my area which was mostly studio work, which was something I'd never done before or even had the confidence to think about doing. With that in mind I thought what have I got too lose, I'd never set foot in a photographic studio or any idea about studio lighting or how it worked. So it's been a steep learning curve over the last months with the help of the group's members, other groups I've joined in the area and workshop's put on at the studio's it's been a total eye opener to this world of photography. I'm happy to work in the studio now and understand a lot more about lighting, ok still got things to learn, but haven't we all, to me you never stop learning.

For me it's given so much confidence and belief in myself which I'd never had before. 

This is from one who had no confidence, no belief, nothing was never good enough and was always made to feel useless by others. I've seen that I'm not alone with how I was feeling that some of you out there have got into this side of photography for the same reason weather its modelling, make up artist or photographer it's to give you more confidence,
