Until I had a message from Sonya 2 months ago, I was not aware of this incredible modelling powerhouse! Generally speaking, I would only, normally, look at models that are in the UK or within a sensible travelling distance. Sonya explained that she was undertaking a tour of Europe and the UK and would like to work with me. As soon as I had looked at her portfolio, I was in!!

The first thing that impressed me were Sonya’s communications, absolutely spot on! A date was soon arranged and all I had to do was wait. I collected Sonya from the station and had a chance to chat on the way to our first location. The feeling of enthusiasm, passion and commitment to her modelling that one draws from just talking is incredible. From the first pose to the last one, Sonya just keeps giving.

Sonya has a “Can Do” attitude to her modelling. I tend to work on the fly, allowing the shoot to evolve as we work. I would see a potential shot and explain my idea to Sonya, she would think it through and nod approvingly – we would then attempt to make it happen. This involved climbing, on two separate occasions, Sonya had to find a way to get into places that were a long way up!! (what is it with models that have this need to climb? 😊)

I certainly had a great day, thoroughly enjoyed Sonya’s company and got some killer images, what could be better? Sonya comes 100% recommended and if you get the chance to work with her, grab that chance, it won’t happen often (she lives 6899 miles away!!) I will be working with Sonya on her next tour, I just hope I won’t have to wait too long.

Sonya and I arranged a shoot for the 4th of July, pre shoot communications were all very good. On the day we encountered a long list of things that basically slowed down our progress, and we had to work around or just give up.

Our patience and dedication paid off and we were able to create some content together. The way Sonya coped and managed to pose bearing in mind all what had happened to us and was out of our control, Sonya was remarkable.

Sonya has a very nice personality, is very keen to get creative and loves what she does. Furthermore, despite being relatively new to modeling Sonya is a competent model.

I'd love to shoot with Sonya again, and as soon as possible ! :-)

Short version: Sonya was absolutely amazing during our shot! Matter of fact, I enjoyed our pictures so much, that I've chosen one of her portraits as my avatar on PP!

Longer version: we had two sets: one where she posed with a lovely and elegant Qipao that she brought from Singapore on purpose for our session – thank you so much for doing that! – and an art-nude one, where she demonstrated how versatile she can be, interpreting some very subtle atmospheres just with her eyes and poses.

She is clearly committed to creating art. I thought she was really interested in understanding what I had in mind, and made sure that I got the shots I wanted. She asked all the right questions about the reasons why I was using the camera and lights the way I was using them. When I showed her some of the pictures, during the session, she perfectly understood what I was looking for and was able to adjust her interpretation accordingly.

The only problem is that she lives so far away from here that I don't know how long I will have to wait to work with her again, which I'm already looking forward to! I enjoyed working with Sonya immensely and you should do yourselves a favour working with her too. Thank you Sonya!

Don't be fooled by her relatively short experience, Sonya is a highly skilled model. Once the theme discussed she knows exactly what the photographer needs and brings it efficiently. Besides that she's a very cultured and lovely person. This shoot is awesome and was a real pleasure. Looking forward to work together again.

Sonya is a natural! We had scheduled a shoot during her tour around Europe and throughout the planning phase communication was clear and efficient.

Even though our scheduled time got under pressure due to Belgian public transport, we managed to make time count! A pleasant and alert model, not afraid to get her hands (or anything else) dirty and full of cool ideas! Highly recommended!

Last month I had the chance to work with Sonya.

We got in touch via Purpleport, and while she was on tour we offered her a place to stay in Antwerp. This gave us the extra time to have a chat over dinner, to get to know each other, and already discuss a bit what we would shoot during the evening, since our outdoor location that we visited during the late afternoon was sealed and we couldn't enter the location.

We quickly created some mutual idea's and after testing some lights we immediately did 2 series that were spot on.

Sonya is very nice to work with, she knows her angles, and loves being creative, so many ideas, locations were already discussed for next occasions.

When not modelling Sonya is a really nice, attend and creative woman, with many interests and great tast of food ;) :D

I'm already looking forward for her next visit, so we can hit some awesome urbex locations together!

GOOD THINGS COME FROM FAR AWAY!

We had the pleasure of having Sonya over for a single day and two nights to do some wonderful shooting with her. Not only is she a great model, but is she a lovely girl that is great fun just to have around.

Looking at the preliminary results we are more than pleased... Ohhh yes please, we love to shoot, create, and hang out with her again in the near future I hope... we are already looking forward to next year, having stay with us for a bit longer so we can do some even greater stuff.

Sonya is a professional model that brings great results. Beautiful on the outside, AND on the inside.

I shot Sonya many years ago in Singapore (year 2013 probably) so this reference is around 4 years late. She is a graceful and elegant beauty. Able to produce many artistic poses and is an absolute classic Asian beauty.
