Villainess Photography

I'm a photographer based in Belgium.

The Villainess project explores archetypes of femmes fatales and mean female characters as pictured in classic and modern movies and comics in a playful interpretation. The best keyword to figure out what we are trying to do may be character. When working on a moodboard we try to build some kind of fictional villainess character, when shooting we try to add a touch of drama, our photography relies also greatly on costumes. What's a villainess, a villainess smokes, that's not socially correct these days but the gesture is iconic, a villainess plays with guns and other evil props, a villainess is graceful, seductive and dangerous. This framework allows us a huge range of possibilities and variations, including expressive portraits, imaginative and unusual.

How we work?

All shootings including TFP are made under contract. We require a model release form since we have no time to run after the models to ask for a permission everytime we have an opportunity to publish or sell. We always work with a professional MUA on the set and often with a hairdresser. We have developed over time a huge set wardrobe, tens of outfits in the fetish/glamour/vintage/fantasy genres are at our permanent disposal. Every shooting is planned and prepared in advance. Besides that a cool and friendly atmosphere on the workplace is important to us, having fun at work is our motto.
