HKG Photography

I had my first shoot at Skylark Studio on Friday. Pre-shoot communication with james was great, as was the shoot. The shoot was a photo day with Maryna Sedin modelling, that James had organised.

The studio has so many sets to shoot, props and outfits. James briefed me on the lighting available, which was plentiful and left us to it. Look forward to shooting at Skylark again. Highly recommended.

Had an amazing shoot today at skylark studios. James was a lovely sole and made me feel so comfortable and at ease. We has some brilliant laughs and chat. Would definitely one hundred percent recommend him . I will definitely be having another shoot with him x

Had an awesome shoot at the studio! James was as ever the consummate professional that he is, while remaining approachable and friendly. The studio itself is well stocked with an eclectic range of outfits and technical equipment, an easy environment to work in, and create some really strong work.

Highly recommend both the studio, and working in it, as well as working with James himself.

Had a great solo and duo shoot today at skylark with James, his lovely friend Jon who traveled all the way from Australia! And a beautiful model tokka🫶🏼 really enjoyed this shoot, everyone got on so well, conversations flowing, felt very comfortable, all communication before hand with James and Jon was spot on!

Second time iv been to this studio and I love it everytime, the bathroom is stunning! Thanks again everyone and hope to shoot here in the near future 🤞🏼

I shot with james and his friend jon from Australia as a solo and a duo shoot with a lovely model called jade and I really enjoyed my day today. Coffee and tea at the ready with great conversation to go with it!

Communication right up to the shoot was great and dont even get me started on how amazing the studio is! Really enjoyable and versatile from a model and a photographer prospective for shooting in good space!

Cant wait to see the outcome and also plan another shoot some time soon

James was very welcoming and showed me around and was happy to let me get on with shooting, but also happy to return if I needed assistance. A lovely studio with lots of potential and I want to come back next year. Definitely recommended.

I had a studio day at Skylark Studio yesterday and am so impressed! Such a versatile studio, it has so many different areas to use, including lots of unique spaces as well as the typical studio backdrops etc.

It also has the biggest bath I've ever seen!

I really enjoyed my day working here and will definitely be back in 2023.

Had a fun TFP shoot with James. Pre comms were great and the shoot was nice and relaxed. The studio has a lot of different spaces for different styles which make for interesting pictures. James is also nice and chatty and easy to talk to which makes the shoot even better! Looking forward to seeing the images and would 100% recommend both the studio and photographer to any model. My second shoot using James studio and its been a pleasure both times. James is a great host and nothing is to much trouble . The studio has a lot of options to be able to get creative with and also lots of props to do this with.

I will be a regular here as it is so versatile and so far I've got some great images from using the studio. The models like the studio as well so thats a bonus.]

Highly r3ecomended by me, if your looking for a studio then look no further this is a great space to work in hosted by James.

Space is well used with 5 very different sets, which can be further adapted with various bits of furniture etc. Additionally, conventional backdrops are available. Blinds are very necessary in the front room ('office' set) of the studio but, with the huge windows, they soften the natural light perfectly on sunny days.

James was on hand if ("when" in my case, of course) needed and the whole operation is well organised.

I shot with James at Skylark Studio for the first time recently and it was great from start to finish, he was kind enough to pick me up from the station and was lovely to chat with and shoot with throughout.

There is a great selection of outfits at the studio and we shot a good amount of changes and backgrounds within the studio.

I'd definitely recommend James and the studio, I can't wait to see the images and hope to get a studio day booked in for next year. :)

I paid my first visit to Skylark Studio today and enjoyed my shoot with the lovely Yohoi K. The studio itself is well equipped and James, the owner, has made maximum use of the available space by creating a number of interesting sets - the boudoir and the luxurious bathroom were particularly photogenic. I would certainly recommend the studio to other photographers and I would hope to return for future events.😀

I thoroughly enjoyed my first photoshoot with James. He is respectful, comical, and is good at making you feel at ease.

We produced some images using different rooms of the studio. He gave good, clear advice and allowed me to incorporate my own ideas to ensure I would be happy.

First time at Skylark but not my first time with James!

Always a pleasure catching up and shooting with him however I love what he's done with the place it's got lots of little set ups that meat all the different criteria. AND THAT BATH?! It's so deep!?!

Loved visiting and shooting there, can't wait to come back!

Good first session recently with Christina 1 as model. Interesting compact studio with several different rooms and furniture/props. James on hand for help and advice. Good in daytime for natural light shots with windows in two of the rooms. Continuous and flash studio lights available.

Well worth a visit.

I saw the new studio and it was convenient with the model I was shooting.

The library and the front room has an oldie look to it.

In the bedroom, the bed has some nice drapes over it.

Then what for me was the main attraction, the bathroom. It is way better than any hotel I’ve ever been in. The walk in shower is great but the bath is amazing. The surround, the step up into it as it is deep. A fantastic bit of craftsmanship has gone into it.

James’s pre-shoot communication was spot on.

On the day he explained the lighting very well and was next door if required.

A great shoot can be had by all, highly recommended.

Shot recently with the wonderful James at his incredible home studio. So many prospects and different areas to shoot. As always, james is full of ideas and a true creative. I was due to photograph here as a photographer, but usual story on here it seems. The model (not on purpleport) cancelled on me at 2am in the morning. Rather than pass that cancellation onto Skylark, I decided to have some fun myself and model. Big thanks to my 2nd camera John for helping out, you put up with far too much, I don't pay you enough!

This studio is still being setup, so there is a special offer on at present for only £10 per hour for the month of August, take it it's a bargain and you'll get great shots.

There are numerous studio flashes (Interfit and Bowens) using either beauty dishes with grid or without (a fabulous modifier), a 3ft x 2ft softbox attached to a bowens strobe (fantasic soft light), a 120cm (I think) octabox, and more, all firing via the studio trigger on loan to the photographer.

The studio has a boudoir scene/room, a library with books on the shelves, an office desk/chair scene, weights for fitness, 3 x 3m background paper, a brick wall corner (excellent for portraits), a fantastic bathroom (the shower and bath are excellent), chesterfield upright chair, chaise longue and various props and other shooting areas.

Full Frame, lens wise I would personally recommend anything from a 24mm to a 70mm. For aps-c multiply these mm by your crop.

The studio owner is a great guy, very helpful and likeable.
