Apr 22 - May Hill
(Although actually a bit of a damp & chilly start to summer!)
There are records of clumps of trees on May Hill dating back to the late 18th Century. The trees were replenished for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887 & again for the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977. It's described as a 'wild & open landmark crowned with a distinctive row of pine trees'. It is also home to a couple of ponies (who sadly didn't want to pose with me) as well as some Belted Galloway cows, who all had cow bells which added to the magical atmosphere.
I was so pleased when Straker said he could come & shoot with me here in the evening & we were lucky to catch the last light of the day & a lovely sunset. The light was beautiful. As it can be extremely busy with walkers I was fully expecting to have to just take some clothed shots (which we did as well - more to come) but when we found ourselves alone (more or less!) I just couldn't resist!
