Midas Eye

I have shot twice now at this wonderful studio. On both occasions I used room 19c but there are two other options available and I will be back. Anna the owner is completely charming as an added bonus. 100% recommended.

Had a really good day shooting at Shutter House. Annas communication before the shoot was excellent and she was on hand if we did need anything. Coffee tea on hand and for a smallish space theres a lot of scope including a bath! Already planning my next trip, great place to shoot.

had a shoot at the shutter house today, met the lovely Anna, the Studio has loads of character, the natural light was great, it has loads of props on hand, i'm the new biggest fan of this studio, and shall book this for shoots regularly.

Shot at Shutter House again today and again Anna was on hand, but then left us to do the shoot. The natural light continues to be impressive and even though I've shot at this studio once before, I still could find new ways to shoot it.

Again, highly recommended studio for those looking for one in the north london area.

I've just finished my first shoot at shutterhouse and what a great find; I've worked with plenty of studios but never one quite like this.

Friendly and helpful, but quite content to leave us in peace to get on with the shoot.

The natural light is much welcomed but we had full rein of a choice of additional lights which resulted in some great photographs.

Perfect for a photographer that is tired of the same old white backgrounds and wants to inject a fresh look without concern of all the extra hassle that comes from a purely 'on-location' shoot.

I recommend Shutterhouse wholeheartedly and will definitely be back in the near future!

Back at the main Shutter House studio today and that studio has so many little areas where you can shoot, awesome natural light and a great owner in Anna.

Excellent studio space that I highly recommend that if you get the chance to shoot there, you should take the chance to.

Shot at Shutter house today at their other studio close by and the amount of character, options available to shoot was second to none. Had great natural light, but lighting and lights were available if needed. Even got to briefly meet the famous Leo the studio dog.

Looking forward to shooting at their main studio later next week, but this other studio is great addition too.

Wavepower

This was my first visit to the Shutter House. I was looking for a well equipped studio with character and enough space and height to shoot dance. Shutter house certainly fitted the bill.

Run by the delightful and friendly Anna, who was very supportive with a tour of the facilities and help set up the first lighting set.

There are a lot of opportunities here. With only 4 hours, my regret was not having the time to explore as much as I would like, oh well I will just have to come back.

I have no hesitation of recommending this rather special place.

Thank you Anna for letting me use your fantastic studio space.

My first visit to Shutter House. Recommended by Elaine and so pleased that she did.

There are so many options and props that I think you could revisit many times and still have further options to explore. A good array of lighting options and modifiers to cover many (most) requirements.

Anna very welcoming, providing coffee and a quick run down / tour of the space. Once we were settled we were left to our shoot. But on hand should assistance be needed.

I can see Annas studio(s) being my 'goto' shoot spaces when needing somewhere in the area.

Recommended and look forward to future visits.

North Gate Photography

First shoot in the new space (the extra studio). Whilst this space is a little more basic than the main studio space, it is spacious, has some areas with beautiful natural light, and has lights & backdrops. There are also some interesting pieces of furniture that are apparently changed regularly (a happy result of the space being shared, at least in terms of ownership, rather than usage, with an upholsterer or furniture maker).

As always, Anna was a helpful, welcoming and attentive host, ensuring that everything was fine before leaving us to our own devices. Prior to the start of the shoot, she even let us grab some of the quirkiness from the main studio so that we could incorporate that into the shoot - as the studio space has only just opened, it hasn't had enough time for Anna to put her unique style into it yet, but given time, I have no doubt that this space will end up with lots of beautiful, just like the main space.

Highly recommended, as always, but now with twice as many opportunities available!

Shutter House is a brilliant, quirky studio with a welcoming host and a growing array of props and lighting equipment. I had the pleasure of another shoot there today (my third so far), this time with PoppyMclean (our second shoot & our second Shutter House shoot).

The natural light in the studio is lovely. The light from the bulbs in the bedroom set is beautiful - some of my favourite shots from both sessions were taken in this light.

Anna (despite being poorly) was a great host - checking that everything was set up how we wanted and that we'd been fed coffee, before leaving us to our own devices.

A great studio that no doubt I'll be back at again in the near future.

2nd shoot at Shutter House studio - just as brilliant and quirky and fabulous as the first shoot. Anna was still lovely, the coffee was still great, and the natural light was amazing.

Versatile & interesting space with lots of shooting opportunities and props as well as an ever expanding range of lighting equipment and backdrops.

Highly recommended :)

I had a shoot at Shutter House Studio yesterday with the lovely Artemis Fauna. This studio is such an amazing space - I am so glad we booked a 6 hour session so we could make best use of all the sets that were available to us.

I addition to the "structural sets", we were totally spoilt for choice regarding all the props and set dressings on hand which enhanced the images taken.

We were fortunate having a bright sunny day which meant we were able to take full advantage of the studio's ample supply of natural light.

Anna, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful being on hand to assist when necessary and then drifting into the background until needed again.

I can thoroughly recommend this studio. It is quite a distance from my home but I will definitely make the effort to work here again in the near future.

Artemis Fauna

I had a brilliant six hour shoot at this studio just yesterday with Laurence.

Easy to find, easy to get too, plenty of parking, Anna was a great host, the studio itself was fabulous. Right up my street and full of quirky props to play with. I felt very at home here and the time flew by.

Really hope I can return again soon! Thank you, Anna! :)

Had my first shoot at Shutter House this week. I have to start by saying what a helpful, friendly and altogether awesome host Anna is. I had originally booked a shoot there last November but unfortunately the original model got sick and I had to re-book. However, for a number of reasons, this took about six months (!). All that time Anna was patient and understanding throughout. And when I finally got to shoot this week (with a different model) she was the perfect studio host - helpful when needed, leaving us to get on with our work otherwise. She even helped me find a parking space next to the studio. And her coffee is superb.

The studio is, as others have said, quirky, characterful and large, with high ceilings, white walls and a lot of natural light from the roof windows high above. There's a lot of props, and furniture that is moveable on wheels. The boudoir set is on a mezzanine level. Photographers interested in particular sets might want to contact Anna before and ask what's available. Oh yes, and the outside environment would also be suitable for some urban-industrial type location shots, if there's not many people around.

Shutter House studio is extremely easy to reach by car (about 5 minutes from the M25) so a great location for anyone based outside London, as well as being 10 minutes from the tube station. All this and the perfect studio host - thanks so much Anna!

I should have made entry for a reference some weeks now. This place is in North London, easy train access and has a wealth of opportunity for the imagination.

Great location! Filled with wonderful natural light, quirky details and props, this is a delightful and versatile shooting space. We had a 4 hour shoot there today and barely scratched the surface of the available options and opportunities.

The layout of the space is pretty flexible and we were able to move the furniture around with no issues (much of it is on wheels / castors for exactly this reason).

Would thoroughly recommend to anyone & everyone. The studio is lovely, & Anna, the owner, is a welcoming and friendly host, who is happy to assist where required or leave you alone to shoot. And the coffee is great too!
