Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

Allen came to Basford Hurst Cottage to take part in a two day natural light photography workshop hosted by Michael Morris, Beth Kate and Lenza.

Allen arrived on time with everything he needed for the shoot. He is polite, friendly and great fun to have around!! He worked well with Michael and the models throughout the workshop and was respectful of his fellow photographers. He really paid attention to what he was learning from Michael and made sure to put into practice what he was learning.

During his time at Basford he made sure to look after our location and was very easy to have around the location.

I would absolutely recommend Allen and I hope to see him again soon! Thank you Allen!! :D

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

It was pleasure to welcome Allen to Basford when he came back to shoot with Erica Mulkern on her group shoot event.

Allen worked well with Erica on each of her sets and made sure to be always respectful of the location and our time schedule for the event. He is also incredibly easy to talk to, polite, friendly and each to work alongside.

Allen signed up for both sessions with Erica so it was great to spend the day getting to know him.

Allen is welcome back to Basford anytime and I hope to see him again soon!! In fact, we are already in talks about another event which is really exciting!! Thank you so much Allen!!

I have shot with Allen multiple times now but we have rarely shot 1-2-1.

We had the pleasure of working together in a group 1-2-1 setting at Basford Hurst Cottage and Allen was as always, the perfect gentleman and so easy to work with. He has clear visions of what he wants to capture and knows how to achieve them. He is someone I can shoot with for HOURS and genuinely wonder where the time has gone :)

I shot with Allen for the first time recently(1-1 before a group shoot he organised), he was kind enough to pick me up up from the station and drop me back afterwards!

The shoot was very fun and laidback, we shot a good variety of looks, played around with lighting and props and had a great time. We got some really great shots and I look forward to seeing them, definitely recommended:)

I have worked with Allen so many times at PGD photography as a photographer and also a organiser. He is literally the best, his so funny, sarcastic and so down to earth. Love his personality and one of the best I have known. He knows so much about lighting, techniques and skill on how to produce a great image. His photographs are unreal and my favourite is still the Marilyn Monroe and our mad angles he has created. I really recommend Allen to a T. He is so helpful and always ask if I need a drink and always help me with outfits to chose from and my thigh boots with belts on 🤣💖 you definitely need to work with him. There is no one else like him 200% recommend thank you so much babe you are an Angel. Can’t wait to work with you in the future.

After having worked with Allen twice before on different dance themed group shoots, I had the honour of being booked for a one to one with him for our third shoot! And now only that, but he also booked me to be the model for Creative Photography Events group shoot on the evening of our shoot. Both were held at PGD Studios in Leicester. Going back to our one to one, the four hours we had together flew by as we worked our way through a collection of sets from dance, art nude, androgynous and gobo work! I'm fortunate enough to have already been booked by Allen a couple more times already, in differing shoot forms: watch this space! Thanks Allen!

I am very happy with my shoot with Allen, it went really great and we managed to organise both a brilliant 121 shoot and group shoot as well. Allen is a pleasure to shoot with, we tried a lot of different looks and Allen was really dexterous with creative light setting and cool ideas. Well first of all a massive thank you to Allen for trusting me enough to book on to my first Iceland trip and, second of all, for being such an absolute pleasure... He always is.

I only hope that he enjoyed it as much as we did. Five people crammed into a Dacia Dustbin for hundreds of miles, hour after hour, might not sound like the most fun but I would do it all again tomorrow.

I have worked with Allen so many times, solo and as part of his 'Creative Photo Events' and he is always amazing. In a professional capacity he is second to none and on a personal level I consider him a great friend, so you can only imagine how ecstatic I was when he decided to join us in Iceland for four days. We braved wind, rain, hail a veritable sandstorm... all with smiles on our faces (maybe the odd grimace) and came out of it with some stunning images and fantastic memories.

If you get the chance to work with Allen then I 110% recommend it.

Firstly, thank you so much Allen for trusting us enough to join us on our first photography trip abroad and secondly, for making it so amazing! It was an absolute pleasure spending time with you, adventuring and making beautiful images together, and we really hope that you loved it as much as we did.

We dragged poor Allen and his cronies out at all hours, 2AM... 4AM... and kept them out for hours on end as we drove countless miles to one stunning location after another. If they weren't ready for a rest afterwards then we definitely were, but they never complained a bit.... well maybe about their bad knees. You really have to enjoy a persons company to spend that much time, five up, in a relatively small car together and still be smiling at the end, but we all were.

We would gladly have Allen along on another adventure any time and we both sincerely look forward to seeing him again, be it for a shoot or just a social visit.

If you haven't had the pleasure of working with him yet then do not hesitate. Allen is a fantastic photographer and wonderful company.

I was very pleased to be booked by Allen recently at PGD studios (amazing studio) for both a 1-2-1 shoot with Allen himself and a group shoot at the studio.

Pre communications were great and all details had been considered. I was given a pick up and drop off from the station and also Allen was very accommodating to my train times etc, to make everything as easy as possible for me which was very much appreciated! Throughout the shoots I was given lots of breaks - very wonderfully made cups of teas, a heater when requested and lots of laughs - so really any wants I had were taken care of!

The 1-2-1 with Allen was really wonderful - he is very knowledgeable, especially in terms of lighting so we did lots of different set-up which were really fun! I love how creative Allen was - trying lots of different ideas and shot compositions resulted in some really wonderful shots.

Allen was very good at organising the group shoot also - these are often very tiring for the model, but Allen made sure everyone was given fair time, there was no double shooting, everyone was clear in what they were doing, and I was kept happy and safe.

Allen really listened to my ideas also and incorporated many into the shoot, I felt very respected and appreciated, as well as just having a blast of a time with lots of laughs - couldn't ask for more really! And I really hope to have another wonderful shoot again soon!

This was my first shoot with Allen (Sheff). We discussed details and outfits in advance, so that we were prepared on the day. He kindly gave me a lift both, from the train station to the studio, and back. Allen is friendly and professional. He contributed to styling ideas throughout the shoot, and gave lots of direction.

The final week of April was an honour for me, as I was graced with Allens o presence not once but twice! The Monday at Tabitha Boydell’s dance photography event in Stroud, and the Friday at my co-hosted dance & art nude workshop at Image Red. I’m also glad to say that Allen has now booked me to work with him and his fellow togs again soon which I look forward to very much! onto the second shoot with Allen and it just gets better!

as per before, Allen is lovely to work with and comes with some great ideas. He has a great sense of humour which always made me feel at ease. we started of with a 1-2-1, took a break then began with a group shoot that Allen had organised. throughout the group shoot Allen was always making sure that i felt comfortable but also enjoying myself too.

I love working with Allen and would be more than happy to recommend him to any model.

I had the lovely chance to shoot with Allen recently.

Allen really is a lovely photographer to shoot with. He has plenty of ideas and not afraid to give direction if needed. Allen made me feel comfortable and welcome from the start which continued throughout.

We both discussed many things of which we unfortunately didn’t get time to do as the shoot was flowing far too well so all the more reason to shoot again!

I really enjoyed shooting with Allen and happy to recommend him to anyone.

Well what another warm welcome and incredible day of shooting with this powerhouse of a photographer Allen.

It was a year ago I took The Retro Rob Tour to Leicester to PGD studios and there we created the magic!

But as we found a day was just not enough so the date was booked and it finally arrived!

Allen is not only a lovely guy but a great photographer with an eye for a shot and the angles and lighting certainly prove that.

I loved what I saw at the back of the camera and can't wait to see the edits so if you want to add some magic to your portfolio book Allen!

Allan booked me for a 1-2-1 session and a group event at a studio in Leicester. Communication prior to the shoot was brilliant. He sent me all of the details I needed and ran through what we would be doing.

Allan is friendly, funny and the sessions ran smoothly and to time.

He even asked me what I’d like to eat and drink and supplied me with lucozade, sausage rolls and a sandwich which was greatly appreciated. :)

Hopefully I’ll get to come back to another one of Allan’s events in the future.
