Shortly after this picture was taken on Menorca, we experienced a rainstorm of biblical proportions. It was not possible to walk back to our car. We swam back - an outstanding achievement for Aya who had never swum more than 300 m previously.
The next day I measured the distance accurately on a nautical chart - it was 1,62 km - a little over a mile !
