References for Saracen House Studio

Saracen House Studio is my go-to Studio in Milton Keynes. Once upon a time, I used to always shoot outside as I was cheap and had no money, but having shot at a couple of other studios honestly, Saracen House is worth every penny, and it’s very competitive for what you get.

This last shoot was with an upcoming singer/actress and I wanted to try experimenting with more ambient lighting and try a little Halloween concept. Andrew (the owner of Saracen House) kindly helped set up lighting and provided refreshments. I love that Andrew is around to provide support or help with any queries. He’s also great to offer a second opinion and has a vast array of experience as a professional photographer himself.

The studio was very clean, having clear Covid notices and hand sanitizers at every entrance. There is also a plethora of lighting modifiers, props, and background colours. Recently I’ve really enjoyed using continuous lights, the arri as a single light source and some new LED bulbs which have been put up above the sofa in the main room.

So yeah, if you want a professional studio with multiple rooms, the ability to tether, Alexa-controlled lights, and on-site parking look no further, but be warned the studio is VERY popular so book now!

Andrew invited to work with him and amazing make up artist Kristina (@sisterofsinister) in his amazing studio in Milton Keynes. Let me share some more details about this crazy fun shoot:

First of all what I loved the most about the shoot is lovely energy and neverending chats. Everyone got really involved and enjoyed their time (or at least i really did). :D

Secondly, probably it's the first time then I liked my beauty pictures straight out of the camera. The combination of beautiful make up and light resulted in some amazing pictures. Andrew is a master of lighting and made sure that every picture would be worth a cover in the magazine.

Lastly, really loved how Andrew accepted all our crazy ideas with enthusiasm and positivity and made it happen.with his great communications and a pinch of humour we had a very successful shoot. I would recommend him and his beautiful studio any day.

Andrew, thank you so much for a really fun afternoon. You are definitely a first photographer who performed special (my name song!) as well :D hopefully, next time I can get back my reputation of being sophisticated haha. Lastly, can't wait to see final pictures! x

I worked with a photographer at Saracen House for a few hours. This was the first time I had worked at the studio since they relocated. The studio was clean, warm and covid-safe.

The changing facilities were well lit and had all needed accessories from hair grips to lint rollers! Andrew was welcoming and on hand to provide plenty of coffee and any assistance needed by the photographer.

Happily recommend this studio to others :)

My first time shooting at Saracen House, but I have wanted to Soto here for ages!!! wonderful studio, it has thought of everything... when I arrived I realized I’d forgotten the plug to my phone charger, not only did they have one, they had several in the actual fitted plugs, now that’s Posh!!! Dressing room was lovely. Very private and well lit for makeup and hanging clothes. The studio it’s self is warm and well set up, everything a photographer could wish for and more! And it goes without saying it’s run by the wonderful Andrew who is just in the other room should you need him. Oh, and I should add it has a wonderful selection of teas :-)

ive recently had my sold out studio day here... was the best!

I model from saracen house all the time, if I were to write a reference for every time ive visited.. wow .... saracen house would have over 2 thousand for sure! HAHA ! no joke, so many people have booked me here, and actually our studio days from 10 years ago set up my career in a big way.

Andrew as always a good host, always ready with various flavoured tea's and coffees! he's got you covered for the beverages.

the lighting in the studio is broncolour, Andrew is very helpful to everyone that comes to his studio, he helps with setting up, even with camera settings and IDEAS at times. (if needed) he's a real pleasure to be around, just has that right energy for that perfect shoot.

everyone who goes to saracen house sing's the studio+andrews praises!

this studio is forever busy and booked out, so if you see a space that's available.. book while you can!

My gosh!

Straight off the initial inquiry Andrew was brilliant, friendly and welcoming; ans so too on the day of my shoot with Amber Tutton - I think the studio space needs more credit as the unsung hero of a great photo shoot, and Saracen House deserves a ballad. The space is enormous, well organised and in the current times spotlessly clean!

Andrew was really helpful in initial tour and lights setting, and discreetly disappeared at shooting time only to be back Instantly when the proverbial “phone a friend” was needed.

I had a great time and I’m sure you will too!

So good to be back at Saracen House, shooting in a great space with great equipment and with a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable studio owner on hand in Andrew .

Andrew has invested time and money in making the studio Covid secure and I felt very safe both for myself and my model during our 4 hour shoot. Just a top class studio with all the facilities you could ever need for a successful and enjoyable shoot.

I visited Saracen House for the first time yesterday and had a great experience.

Andrew was welcoming and extremely accommodating throughout the entirety of my shoot.

Especially in today's climate with hygiene being so important it was comforting to see hand gel stations within reach at every room; Cleanliness as a whole was impeccable.

I look forward to returning to this studio in the future.

It was great to be back at Saracen House as I don't live far away from it now!

First off... An important thing from a models point of view is its super clean! The changing room is not just tidy but really clean as well (unfortunately this isn't always the case at other studios).

Due to current circumstances he has hand sanitiser mounted on the walls around the place as well which is a great touch.

I love the wooden palette wall with the old fashioned style fancy bare light bulbs and Chesterfield.

The natural light boudoir room is looking beautiful with the light grey wall and a new headboard arrived whilst I was there which looked lovely.

Andrew is always friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Highly recommended.

I really hope to be back soon as I live so close now!

Great shoot today back at the fabulous studio Saracen and most importantly, I got to see the awesome studio owner/host Andrew again, after a couple of years!

As ever, Andrew is always so accommodating, charming and helpful. The studio it’s self is homely, spacious and has all the amenities you need (and then some) for the right environment to thrive and capture some magic.

A variety of lights, sets, props etc.

But what makes any studio is the person running it. You couldn’t ask for better then Andrew. He is extremely welcoming but always remains professional. Knowledgeable and able to not only help with lighting, ideas etc but also able to explain why and how.

Saracen is still and will remain a favourite of mine.

Highly recommend!

So Friday 28th February was my first shoot of 2020 in Saracen House Studio. Whenever I want to shoot inside its my first place I think of!

Not only does it have very competitive rates but its also fully kitted out with high end studio strobes. Now I'm not a gear snob but if I'm hiring a studio I expect there to be a number of strobes and for them to handle me going trigger happy if I wanted.

There is a plethora of studio backgrounds, loads of modifiers and every now Andrew mixes up the shooting spaces introducing new accessories. On Friday I discovered a new beauty reflector and a new bath, which I suspect will be a great prop.

The studio has a speaker system setup through the space, with Alexa so you can voice control the house lights or skip a track. There's also a monitor if you want to connect your laptop to tether or even a screen if you wanted to run a workshop.

Honestly if you looking for a professional studio space look no further.

Had two great studio days at Saracen House. Andrew was as always excellent at making tea and helping the photographers getting fantastic images. His Broncolour lighting is phenominal and the studio space is just gorgeous.
