Had the pleasure to work at the Portrait Kitchen for the first time yesterday. Was very excited that I got picked by their client to shoot the absolutely STUNNING headpieces! This was the first millinery shoot for me altogether.

The owner, Jon was easy to communicate with, he also picked me up from the station and dropped me back off - just so helpful when you have three trains to catch.

Despite the fact that this studio is located in their kitchen (hence the name), Jon, Anjee and Lois have created a highly professional environment where clients and models feel safe and achieve the greatest results.

Separate thanks to Lois for providing plenty of BTS content, very much appreciated :)

Really hope I will be back again one day, thank you so much for having me!

Peaches Du Jour

I had my first shoot with The Portrait Kitchen on Tuesday. I've wanted to work with the for soooo long and I was over the moon when I got the spot from their casting.

Jon and Anjee are so amazing! They run smoothly and know exactly what they're looking for with super attention to detail. The outcome shots are beautiful. Perfect lighting too with zero adjustments! Working with them is absolutely effortless and seamless! Incredible people! And I'm delighted to have a few more bookings with them ☺️

Jon and Anjee are artists in what they do. I wholeheartedly recommend them 100%! Really looking forward to our next shoot 😁

It was really an amazing experience to work with Jon and Anjee. They are highly skilled professionals who were easy and friendly to work with. Jon is too good with his photography and to have Anjee as a stylist for the shoot, gave it a beautiful theme. Also, there were wonderful backdrops which went perfectly with the concept of the shoot. They also had food arranged for us in their potrait kitchen, which is really kind and courteous. Looking forward to working with them again.

A series of wonderful coincidences meant that I ended up shooting with Jon on Sunday. Although the shoot was arranged super quickly (I replaced a model who was unwell) communications were easy, and the brief was beautifully clear.

Jon and Anjee made me feel very welcome. Their kitchen is amazing, and the studio fits so well into that space.

The shoot was fun and lively, which was added to by fabulous clients who were Face Timing from Spain (a new one to me, but it worked really well). Jon gave clear direction and lots of positive feedback. Anjee’s styling and creative ideas were wonderful.

All in all a shoot that started as a surprise and grew into something rather special.

Really enjoyed a great shoot with Jon and another model, Mike. As a modelling novice this was a very different experience but one I throughly enjoyed. With simple, clear and supportive instructions the whole process put me very much at ease. Jon was happy to consider the variety of outfits I had available and I came away feeling even more confident. Highly recommended

Sunday 24th March saw me working with Jon for the second time, thereby fulfilling a commitment we made when we shot in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter many moons ago.

We were joined by the excellent Ben4 - for whom I've already been happy to leave a reference - at Jon's Portrait Kitchen, and as ever Jon gave his models free rein to try out our own ideas while carefully shaping us and posing us to get the shots we all wanted.

As always Jon provided great comms beforehand and was very easy to work with on the day, very funny and wholly dedicated to the cause. Just like last time I'm already looking forward working with him at some point in the future.

Jon and Anjee make a great team on their portrait shoots, Jon is great with a camera and lighting, and Anjee was wonderful at advice on poses etc! I think it's absolutely wonderful that they have set up a portrait company from their kitchen and it really does work! Their home is lovely and had everything you need for a fab shoot :) would recommend! Thanks again!

Had a fantastic shoot with Jon and Anjee. They have a wonderful set-up in their kitchen and are so very welcoming - a joy to work with!

It was great to be able to work collaboratively with various props/outfits and they had lots of cool and creative ideas.

Would 100% recommend them as photographers and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.
