References for Platform3

I shot at Platform 3 on my last Cork tour (approx 3yrs ago) so was delighted to return again!

The studio itself is well fitted with lights, backdrops, props etc (and heaters for those cooler days). For models, there is a well sized changing room, with mirrors and accessories. Toilet facilities and tea/coffee on hand. The best bit? The studio owner Mike also has his own dark room there for developing wet plate!!

The studio has big windows, enabling you to take advantage of the natural light too.

Excellent studio and I look forward to returning the next time I visit Cork :)

I was thrilled to do my first studio day at Platform 3 recently in August working with a few different photographers throughout the day. I contacted Mike one of the studio owners and arranged everything through him, he was so helpful but sadly could not attend on the day due to work commitments but we had arranged I would meet Dave one of the co owners who was an absolute joy.

The studio is in the centre of town so close to the bus / train stations and so easy to find. I really enjoyed my day there and all the photographers were on time and lovely with some creative and interesting ideas.

The studio is well equipped with lighting and props, it is spacious with backdrops and an area to shoot with natural light by the windows. There is a beauty/changing room with a toilet area and again lots of space for choosing outfits from your case etc. If you need a coffee to give yourself a boost before your shoot there are coffee houses next door and around the corner.

My time there went so quickly, I had a fabulous day and I look forward to going back. I highly recommend Platform 3 to all creatives and to any touring models this is a great location to do a studio day. Loved Cork and Platform 3, I look forward to a future return.

This is the second time Ive worked at Platform3 studio in Cork, and its been fab both times!

The owner, Mike, is lovely and is always on time and happy to help. He is normally in the office and ready to be of help with lighting etc. and if he goes out he assures you its fine to ring his mobile if there are any issues.

The dressing room is private with a great big mirror for your make up needs and to check your outfit before heading back out to shoot.

The toilet is always kept clean and in good condition as well as the whole studio. It has 2 great windows for natural light with the choice of using a material to diffuse it, amazing choice of lighting set ups and many different backdrops to choose from.

This is definitely the studio Ill always look forward to returning to in Cork, until next time!

Great little studio with good facilities, I like the natural light area and that although small you can do a lot with the space provided. Mike the studio owner is a gentleman, friendly and on hand if you require any help. I throughly enjoyed my studio day there and will definitely return next time I’m in Cork :)

I would recommend any model who comes to Cork to get hold of Mike and see if they can have the great experience i had of working with lots of respectful photographers who really love the art of photography. The dressing room is a great space with 2 great mirrors and the heater was on by the time i got in there. I felt completely safe all day and it was full of laughs and brilliant shots! Its brilliantly equipped with lots of different backdrops to choose from and lovely natural light.

Mike was helping with lighting if it was needed but otherwise hid away in his office. Pre communication was great and i cant wait to come back!

Hosted my first studio day at Platform3 and in Ireland this weekend. It was a great place to shoot with warm and welcoming studio owners and photographers. The location is extremely central. I will definately be back in the new year.

The pre communication before the studio day were excellent and Mike was extremely helpful to myself and the photographers throughout the day. Highly recommended hopefully I will be back soon.

I had the chance to work in mike´s studio this week during my tour in Ireland.

Fully equipped, very clean, plenty of space and many props. Mike is a very helpfull and friendly person. I worked in the studio twice with him and another photographer.

I recommend the studio to every model and photographer

Had a fantastic few days working in Mike's studio in Cork this weekend.

Firstly Mike is an absolutely lovely person, chatty, professional and highly accommodating over the weekend which was wonderful.

The first day (Saturday) I was the model for his workshop. It is very apparent that Mike is highly skilled in photography, teaching various interesting and creative lighting setups. I even learnt some things myself :)

He interacts well with the other photographers he is teaching which I liked, explaining why he is using each light and giving thorough demonstrations. The results from the back of the camera from each person was stunning.

I did a workshop in his studio the second day. I have to say the studio has excellent space, backdrops plenty of lights, including available light.

I loved working in his studio and would highly recommend using it.

Overall fantastic weekend, would recommend Mike as a photographer and his studio and can't wait to come back!

I was in Ireland doing location shoots, and Platform3 was my 'Plan B' in case of bad weather. Not that it ever rains in Ireland :)

On the last day we got up and the weather was awful, I contacted Platform3 hoping for a booking that day, and they responded very quickly even though it was a Sunday. Everything was quickly arranged, and I even got them to extend the booking on my drive to Cork.

So their comms are very good, and the studio is a great little place as well. Good facilities for the model and relaxing, and a super stage area with lovely wooden floor and great natural light. It's such a super little corner that we spent 4 hours just using the corner and the natural light, and ran out of time well before we ran out of ideas. It also has backdrops and lights and other more traditional stuff, but the corner is the star.

Highly recommended, and I will definitely use it again when I am in Ireland again.
