This shoot was created to show off my wig making skills. I created this wig on a foundation created personally for my model. I then sourced the hair and dyed it myself to get this beautiful red head colour influenced by the fifties American comedienne, Lucille Ball. I then proceed to hand knot the wig with anything from 1 to 3 hairs at a time until the entire wig was thick enough to create Lucille Balls famous fifties "Poodle" hair style. Once the wig was knotted (after several hundred hours) I then cut and styled the wig ready for the photoshoot. I was very firtunate to have a model who absolutely rocked the "perfect fifties housewife" image and we styled her clothes, makeup and accessories around the fifties era entirely. This was an exceptional time to spend on one wig but I feel from these images it was worth every single minute knotting a couple of hairs at a time.
