A little about me!

I’ve been a professional photographer for most of my working life - over 30 years.
As well as running a successful boudoir photography studio (Mighty Aphrodite) with my wife for the last 20+ years I also run studio workshops (NXWorkshops) and a photography tutorial website (leighperkins.com).

I relocated to a stunningly beautiful location in mid Wales in 2020 with my wife Zena and doggo Ziggy.  Here I  built a new studio from scratch to continue our boudoir business, workshops and tutorial photography.

Models

I’m always looking for new models to work with, shooting either for my tutorial site, workshops, test shoots or other commercial projects. I’m happy to work with models with all levels of experience and working levels from lingerie to adult and anything in-between.
So whether you’re a seasoned pro or a part time newbie, a model who is happier in underwear or one who is confident in the buff why not give me a shout.

My studio is a brand new custom build. It’s large, warm and well equipped but a word of warning - it’s based in a very rural, beautifully scenic spot in mid Wales that is a proper faff to get to.  If you tell me that you can make the effort to get to me I’ll be mightily impressed and very likely to book you!

For workshops, tutorial shoots and commercial projects I offer good rates of pay and travel expenses.  These shoots are mostly full day shoots.
I often book models for two consecutive days and can offer overnight accommodation in one of our two onsite cosy self catering holiday cottages (Coedmorcottages). Although not a fan, I do occasionally do TF shoots, so if you’re looking for portfolio images by all means give me a shout and let’s see if there is a mutual benefit.

Photographers

My workshops are run as either 2-to-1 or 1-to-1 tutorial days.
My workshops in studio lighting are designed to pass on my 30+ years of photographic experience and studio lighting.  Whether your interest is in creating dark and moody, high contrast, low key images or realistic daylight scenarios I can show you in the comfort of my newly built, custom designed studio.

With sliding walls, moveable background panels I can show you how I create and light realistic room settings within the studio environment.
Daylight shooting is also an option thanks to the two metre panelled sliding wall.
The studio has 3m high ceilings,  a Hi-Glide ceiling mounted lighting rig with six Bowens flash units.
My tutorial website will also give you insights into my lighting setups and how I go about shooting boudoir and glamour style images.
