Studio Hire

The Space

Micropop Studios occupies a building dating back to 1765. Split over two distinct floors, it offers creatives a bright light filled upper space with vaulted ceilings and beams – and an underground basement area with exposed walls, red brick floor and archaic feel. The Ground Floor – 4.5m x 4.5m

The walls are white painted brick. On three sides of the room are windows set into the thick walls, perfect for sitting in and capturing the natural light. The roof space is huge going up to a roof lantern around 5m up in the eves. Beams criss cross the space allowing for interesting angles and lighting. The floor is old white painted floorboards. There is an open fireplace (not working) with hearth along with high backed seat. The ground floor has two Colorama wall brackets for car size colour rolls. The studio currently has 7 different colour backgrounds. We also have two Calumet Auto Poles that can be used for back drops of different sizes to be set up anywhere in the space. There is a small dark sofa, leather chaise, white chair, Chinese screen, full length mirror and fridge and tea/coffee area. A trap door leads down to the basement.

The Basement – 4.5m x 4.5m

A staircase leads down into the basement with a mixture of old brick walls, red brick floor and old beams. This area can be completely closed off from all outside light to create a completely ‘pitch black’ space for shoots. There is another antique fire place here (again not operational) and this space can be fully set up for gothic or ancient type themes. Also in the basement is the WC area. If you wish to use back drops in this area, then the Calumet Auto Poles can be positioned anywhere in the room.

Power –

Both areas are served by two separate consumer units with their own socket outlets. So not to clutter or compromise the wall space, there are two double outlets on the ground floor and one double outlet in the basement.

Other Amenities

Parking is via a large free car park, 100m from the studio, with space for around 10 cars. Those using the studio can park directly outside the studio to load and unload. The studio is set in the grounds of a stunning listed building in a secluded corner of the grounds. Within a minutes’ walk is an excellent café serving really good coffee and is the perfect place to take a break from shooting. Also, there is a small Co-op store for groceries or a quick lunch.

We are a few minutes drive from the centre of Lincoln. Trains into Lincoln are frequent and the area has excellent public transport links.

Access

Access to the ground floor of the studio is via 4 small steps. Access to the basement area is via an internal staircase, which is steep. If you are unsure if the studio might not be suitable of if you have mobility issues, please talk to us before booking.

Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

£15 Per Hour - Minimum 2 hours

 

£40 (Half Day) - 4 hours (9am-1pm / 1pm-5pm)

 

£60 (All Day) 8 hours (9am-5pm)

 

 

Sat-Sun 10am-4pm

£20 Per Hour Minimum 2 Hours

£80 (All Day) 6 hours

Please note that the studio is a Non-Smoking space. No naked flames or candles are permitted throughout the studio.

Terms and conditions of Micropop Studios

 

By booking a slot you are confirming you will be attending the studio day or hire and are liable for full payment.

If you cancel your booking within 48 hours of your slot or fail attend your slot, the deposit will be kept and a full payment of the slot or slots will have to be made.

If we are unable to fulfill your booking we shall endeavour to give you as much notice as is possible and offer an alternative date or full refund.
