My fourth visit to Micropop Studio, this time playing with my new laser and smoke machine. Marc is always easy to deal with when booking the studio and follows up with a message to check everything was ok after the shoot; a nice gesture. I'm sure I'll be back there at some point later in the year :)

Bit late adding this reference, but was good to be back in Micropop after several months. Didn't use the basement this time, but was a handy space to try out my new lighting, and play around with some gels. As always, Marc was easy to deal with making the booking, a couple of quick text messages and all arranged. I've no doubt I'll be back in Lincoln again soon and will continue to use Micropop while in that area.

I enjoyed modelling at this studio on my last shoot.

It is only a bus away from Lincoln that runs quite regularly which is brilliant for those who wish not to drive.

The layout allowing natural light work up top works well against the basement area below. We got some stunning images in both areas.

Lovely little room, with an amazing basement that has lots of potential.

Kettle and bottled water available.

The main room is great for natural light photography, but the basement has lots of potential, already booked for my second shoot.

I had a shoot here with @tranquility and this was a fantastic versatile space with so many different options and textures to choose from!

My second shoot at Micropop Studio and another fun few hours. As usual, hot drinks were available along with bottled water, and a fresh pint of milk in the fridge ready for when we arrived. Communication with Marc is always easy and he's so appreciative of a booking. I just love this studio because it is so different to anything else I've seen. Forget places trying to make a set look like an old wall or building, this is the real thing.

Tranquility

This was my third shoot at Micropop, and first since the basement was opened. Once again I had a great shoot there. The natural light works really well on the upper floor and the basement has brick walls that make a great background. It's really convenient for me, and the cost is such that I can book a half day and shoot without worrying about time constraints. Marc is very helpful with booking etc. Looking forward to my next visit.

Attended a shoot here with a fellow photographer.

Meeting Marc, he was very friendly and gave us a full tour of the studio.

Upstairs of the building, is light and bright with plenty of natural light available, paper backdrops and a few furniture pieces, whilst downstairs is the basement with exposed brick walls and floors. The stairs to this basement area are functional but you do have to take care when getting down them.

With tea and coffee readily available, I was one happy model….to anyone who knows me, just give me a cuppa and I’m happy 😊

For the small fee, this place is great if you want a little studio.

In time I hope Marc is able to make the most out of the wooden beams in the upstairs section such as being able to hang a swing or arial hoop from them, you could get some amazing shots from this.

Spent and enjoyable afternoon at Micropop Studio today. Pre-shoot communication whist booking and leading up to the shoot. On arrival Marc proved to be friendly, chatty, and sociable.

The studio is small but also unique in that I've not come across anything like this before. On the ground level floor there is bags of natural light with windows and a skylight. There is also a fridge with milk, good quality tea and coffee, and bottled water. A paper backdrop is in situ with several colours available. With white brick walls and white wooden floors this is a bright airy space to shoot, with window ledges large enough for models to sit on.

Down a steep but functional set of stairs through a trapdoor is the cellar area with natural old brick walls and floor. This room can be totally blacked out by closing the trapdoor however, it's probably dark enough for most shoots with the door left open. There is an oil filled radiator in this toom which can probably be moved upstairs as required. This is also where the toilet is located. The studio does not have mains water so the toilet is a camping style portaloo. Don't let this put you off, it's clean, doesn't smell, and it obviously well maintained.

Overall I would recommend Micropop Studio as a unique facility with a friendly owner charging a reasonable fee. I will be returning in the future.

Tranquility

I was looking for a studio near Lincoln and struggled to find something, then Micropop joined PP just at the right moment. It looked like just what I was after so I made enquiries then booked. I did the shoot today, with a local model who has never modelled before. It was the perfect setting for our shoot and the environment was ideal for a nervous first-timer. Marc's communication beforehand was excellent and all the arrangements went without a hitch. We shot for two hours and I got lots of good images. If you're looking for a small, friendly local studio in a nice setting, with plenty of natural light then I can recommend Micropop.
