Had my first shoot at valley road today and john the owner was lovely I also shot with him for a couple hours whilst I was there :)

John was lovely, very polite and helpful he showed me around and made me a lovely cup of tea :)

I had a nice time working with john and also working in his studio it's fully equipted with pretty much everything in there :)

Highly recommend john and the studio thanks john

Third shoot at Valley Road. John was very welcoming as usual to the photographer & I & we had a cuppa before we started shooting. John was on hand to help move props around but otherwise he left us to it. The natural light coming through the roof was lovely & we got some nice images. Thank you John, recommended of course :-)

Shoot in valley road yesterday,John most helpful when needed.Explained everything when we arrived,and on hand if needed.Studio wellset up with lots of props to use.Also great daylight if that is what is required. Highly recommended.

I am so pleased that John spotted my casting call that day from my latest tour of the Gloucester area: Not only did he show lovely enthusiasm to work together from the start but he couldn't offer enough help to me with schedule planning and offering accommodation: right up until the day before even! I had actually had a cancellation from another shoot that day which meant I wouldn't need to be rushing from the Midlands to Gloucester/Wales quite so soon and upon talking to John on the phone to update him of the changes, he was totally happy for me to come a little later in the day taking some travel pressure off. What a star! :D

So his communications are pristine, no doubts at all about that! When we got around to shooting at his fab little studio, there were a great deal of opportunities for imagery including sets he had put together as well as natural light and even the more (genuine) industrial sets! We hammered quite a variety of looks in our little booking together and all the way: John was delighted to hear my input too which enabled us to get a good teamwork/rapport going. He's extremely easy going and thus easy to work with: very accommodating to models as well and upon my arrival he had the kettle brewing for tea/helped me drag my things to the designated model changing area with good makeup space etc.

We did plenty of chattering of course whilst shooting! John's a very friendly and courteous person, totally respectful of models and positively charged for working creatively. He goes out of his way to make sure models are comfortable and happy during their time at the studio and as a photographer himself: a total pleasure to work with. :)

Most certainly recommended and I look forward to getting the opportunity to shoot together again!

I had a wonderful first shoot at Vally Road Studio! What a memorable, wondrous, different place. John is considerate, chatty and kind-keeping me well watered and looked after throughout. The studio's industrial aesthetic is quirky but acts as a wonderful background for multiple styles of shoot. It also caters for a boudoir setting too.

Such a fantastic day, and I really can't wait to return!

what a studio, limitless set options and props to choose from you will never be at a loss for ideas. Couple that with an owner that goes out of his way to help you and you have a studio not to be missed

This is a hugely quirky studio !!

And I loved it . It is not just huge it has loads of character and back drops and props .

The owner John is an absolute delight and is so happy to help both models and photographers who are in the studio.

John makes the studio. He designed it and it's very different. It has slot of space outside the back as well. Which gives great shadows and are super private .

I have no hesitation in saying I'd work here again. And I have no hesitation in recommending it

Had my first shoot at Valley Road, with Irish Rose. This isn't your convential studio, John has worked hard to make every inch of his business unit into a shootable backdrop. If you want to shoot somewhere different with a wealth of quirkyness, this studio is perfect.

John is there to help if required, or anonymous if required.

Give it a go, you won't regret it.

Valley Road Studio is just an amazing place to shoot. A new opportunity presents itself round every corner. Lots of big industrial machines and all sorts of other stuff everywhere. I loved it there and John the owner could not be more helpful. Highly recommended.

Although I'd visited John's studio previously this was the first time I actually shot with John himself. Pre-shoot comms were spot on & John was very welcoming when I arrived & we had a coffee while we chatted.

John is such a friendly, chatty person & so the shoot was lovely & relaxed with John giving me the freedom to choose what outfits I thought would work well & to pose freely. The studio is such an amazing space with so many options for sets that the time flew by all too quickly but hopefully I'll get the opportunity to work with John again :-)

John is both professional & respectful, I'd have no hesitation in working with him again & recommending him, & his studio.

John has really come on with his photography since I first met him last year. He booked a half day with me recently (our second shoot) and due to his newness and inexperience I ran it more like a workshop, showing him basic lighting, composition, image selection and editing. We had a great session but could not shoot the full time because the studio lighting wasn't flash, therefore was not strong enough to work effectively in the studio at night. He is a very keen beginner, willing to listen and to learn and is always very grateful and gracious, happy to drive you from and to the station (which is quite a distance away) I found it very nice to slow things down during this shoot and really get John to hone in on the basics of getting beautifully lit, composed and styled images. He is delightfully sweet and respectful to models, I would not hesitate to recommend him, but You DO need competent skill yourself in order to help him get the best from the session, *I am sure the image of the studio will keep progressing as will Johns photography, with the help of professional models willing to guide him.

I had my first shoot with John at Tormentor studio the other day and it was a brilliant debut shoot together.

John's pre communication was spot on and I felt comfortable right from the first message.

He came to collect me from Gloucester as we discussed and also very kindly dropped me back to the station afterwards.

We had a little bit of a slow start due to me not feeling 100%, but once we started I felt fine again and he was incredibly patient and understanding with me.

John made me feel right at home and was very friendly and easy to get on with.

He is pretty new to the industry but an absolute gentleman and has the most professional attitude.

He was very chilled out to work with and allowed me to pose freely and suggest ideas. John is also great to converse with a certainly far younger than his years! We had such a laugh.

I guess it's safe to say I would work with him again and I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other models!

Had my first shoot with Tormentor studio the other day and it was amazing, fun and very creative session. The studio itself is fully self contained studio, location, industrial, boudoir name it all but all carefully arranged in a very creative way. There is a lot to cover and loads of opportunities to explore and that is made easier by the host. A fantastic person to work with, always mindful, easy to work with and has an idea of what he wants to achieve. Definitely a journey worthy taking and from what have seen already, very good results.

Had a great first shoot with John today and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Wonderful studio with great potential to be as creative as you like. John is very chatty and I felt at ease, we had lots of giggles.

I highly recommend John as a photographer and a studio host!

Had a great shoot at the studio last week. If you want some different images there are a great deal of interesting props at this studio. Would probably take a dozen shoots to do the number of props justice. Would recommend the studio, perhaps needs a longer open space if you use a long lens. John is great as a studio host.

I worked at Tormentor Studio for the first time today, shooting with another photographer. John was extremely welcoming & friendly, tea & coffee on tap & the studio is incredible. I think even if you shot there every day for a week you'd still find sets to shoot! It's an amazing space with a piano, bed, stairs & some very interesting industrial machines.

John wasn't obtrusive in any way but was always on hand to help with changing backdrops, heaters & lighting etc, other than that he left us to get on with it. I'd definitely recommend John & the studio - if you want somewhere different to shoot try here! I'm sure we'll be back. Thank you John :-)

Had a brilliant shoot with John today! He's friendly, professional, allowed plenty of time to get the shots he needed and allow for outfit changes, and was really organised with his ideas & preparation for our shoot. I was really impressed with the studio too and have added it to my list of recommended venues. Would not hesitate to shoot with John again any time, and hope to be back soon
