I had the most incredible weekend thanks to Uwe!

We had spoke in the past about Uwe joining one of my photo events, so when I found myself travelling to Germany I messaged him, and as it happened his model has cancelled for a castle shoot. I jumped at the opportunity to fill in and Uwe kindly booked accommodation for us too, ensuring I had a double room as I travel with my husband.

I arrived the evening before our planned shoot and we spent a wonderful evening having dinner with Uwe and his wife and getting to know each other a little :)

I was very excited for our shoot but it truly surpassed all expectations. An absolutely incredible castle location during the day, then ending with his fabulous vintage car! You really can’t get much better!! From what I saw on the back of his camera throughout the day we got such incredible photos too :D

Uwe is incredibly creative, experiments with different angles and lighting to get what he wants. It was a true collaboration and the images really shot that! Uwe is also wonderful company and incredibly respectful too.

All in all a wonderful experience and I can 10000% recommend him to others! Thanks so much for such a wonderful shooting experience!

I had a very fun shoot with Uwe when I was in Germany last month. He booked a full day and we shot in studio and on location. Uwe is a very kind and friendly person with a lot of great ideas. Images were editted very fast and I am very happy with them! Recommended and I hope to be able to work with him again!

Yesssssss! Our trip finally happened! 😁📷🙌

Honestly - people who have seen my references know that I write essays quite easily... But after endless frustration of rescheduling the Arts Voyage event that Uwe and I had been looking forward to so much (pandemic joys!) I actually find myself in a jumble of words ranging from everything from: BUZZING/OVERJOYED/CREATIVELY SPURRED to relief/the sweat dripping down the forehead emoji/and disbelief almost at the craziness that we waited out and overcame to make this happen! I literally remember the first instance that Uwe and I chatted about him coming on a trip - and when I think of all that’s happened since that point, ending finally with a magical collection of pictures... It really is like *WOW!* Thank you sooooo much Uwe for your patience, enthusiasm and smashing creative charge during the event in Madeira that happened at last! 🤩

The event was a one-to-one solo/exclusive trip meaning that Uwe came out to Madeira to shoot with me for 3 full days straight. No strict/set schedule - we were the masters of our own creative interest and use of the one-to-one time on his slot. 🙂 Madeira is a really stunning island; packed with natural beauty and drama in every landscape view that one can lay their eyes on in a 360 radius! What really was impressive about Uwe’s approach is that he took it upon himself to actually fly out early and explore the island/have a look around himself to gather ideas and see possible locations he liked the look of. He totally got into it - which is exactly the point of this type of trip! The foundation’s are there for photographers to unleash their personal imagination and photographic fascination. Uwe grabbed that opportunity with both hands and knew exactly what he wanted to achieve from the event. With a combined set of minds - plus the bespoke themes and other scouted locations I prepared... It’s safe to say that the 3 days were crammed with sublime teamwork, fabulous rapport value and lots of fun/food/adventure!!!! 😊 Even though Uwe is a very naturally creative thinker and routinely does his own research (even buying props and outfits for his shoots) he is very happy for the model to bring their creative flare to the table. What you end up with when you work with Uwe is an extremely active flow of thinking and productivity encouraged from all angles. It makes him a joy to work with in any environment - but with the resources in Madeira on the Arts Voyage event. BLIMEY! Uwe was in the zone alright! 😄

He handled every shot/set/look with a lot of care in the technical side of things. Here’s a photographer who was thrown right in the deep end on the very first location with balancing light/the environment etc! Think of a dark rock beach, blindingly strong sun rays, a pale as can be model... And then a flaming waterfall rainbow?!?! The sheer brain power to catch what ones eyes see at that very moment in a mechanical/electronic device which operates very different to the human eye is something which is easier said than done! Tell you what though - this gent made it look easy! 😆

Aside from the super-charged creativity going on, I have to say that it was simply a delight spending 3 days working with this polite and good natured photographer. I have always rated Uwe highly in his professionalism and etiquette - he had a lot of respect for models and always presents himself with a great deal of courtesy to his fellow industry creatives. We’ve shot together multiple times now in studio-day style format, but this was quite a leap spending 3 full days in an intense one-to-one setting. It was also quite a hectic lead-up to the trip because it was still a tiny bit uncertain with the ever-changing events of Covid and so forth... Of course because Uwe and I are in totally different countries; travelling to Madeira meant I couldn’t even offer government guidance advice as such as the rules were totally different. But Uwe was a star and managed that side of things with no trouble which gave me a lot of reassurance as I’m always anxious to know that photographers are not getting stressed in the process. Uwe is a really smart guy though - as well as a total gentleman who was lovely company for the very first opening slot on my Madeira event. What a way to kick things off! 😃 I can also first-hand confirm that we did not stop talking at any point between shooting! 🤣 (Standard Uwe!)

So I’ll say it again - THANK YOU SO MUCH UWE! You were an utter delight on my trip, I’m so honoured to have hosted you - and of course you have my recommendation once again. For all and everything that made our recent time working together truly awesome! 🌟

I look forward very much to when we can shoot again in the future. ☺️

Uwe and I shot a few weeks back and I have nothing but positive things to say! We shot with another model for a few hours before shooting alone together. He had (great) specific ideas but was also really happy and open to have suggestions and creative input from me. We had a great shoot and he was nothing but professional and courteous. I can't wait to see the results!

I worked with Uwe recently once again (we shot some amazing cool and crazy stuff together on a previous visit I had made to Hamburg) ...this time it was part of an extended tour I was doing of Germany so I’m so grateful and happy that Uwe was able to make it on my dates for the trip. He’s a fabulous person for any model to get the chance to work with. :D

As before; the location of the shoot was the brilliant Fotoworkshop Studio hosted by Mike Rhys. A studio with great potential in the way of space and light to enable those who visit the opportunity to create a diverse variety of creative images working together. And you bet we did that! :) As usual: Uwe was equipped with some completely next-level ideas - even going as far as to hire luscious garments for some of the visions he had. A very imaginative and creatively-driven photographer for sure who knows exactly what he wants to achieve and goes to applaudable effort to make the ideas come to life. It’s so nice when you get to work with such enthusiastic photographers who think ‘outside the box’ like Uwe does because it gets you into the buzz of the process and creates a positive flow of determination to work as team towards the end result. Uwe also values the contribution of models very highly, so not only can he offer good direction/has an eye for detail in what he’s trying to capture within his images but he welcomes the expressive interpretation from the model, their repertoire and suggestions. The the whole session was of course filled with lots of productivity indeed... From double/long exposures to funky portraits and crisp bodyscapes! Of course I cannot give enough credit to Uwe for his hard work that evidently he puts into the shoot to utterly nail the light, the framing and the timing of the shot. It’s a lot to think about from the photographers side, but his brain is just on-it and the images in-camera looked very superb even in untouched form! :D

So it was another hugely successful session working with this awesome gentleman once again in terms of pictures produced; but I also have to mention how lovely a nature he is and how effortless he makes it to generate a positive working rapport. :) Uwe ticks all the boxes for what you would hope for in professionalism: good communications when we were setting the booking up, complete respect and kind thoughtfulness shown to the model at all times... And also just a good laugh/super cool to chat with as you get on with the important work! :) He’s a very upbeat character which obviously creates a fun vibe to the session and makes time fly by even quicker. So it goes without saying - I recommend this photographer EXCEEDINGLY high!

I really look forward to working with Uwe again soon; whether in Germany again when we meet again, or on one my own events which we’ve been chatting about! UWE’S AWESOME!!!!!!
