what a great studio/space to work from. We used the loft, bare brick walls and lots of furniture. Plenty of space and natural light coming in through the windows, and its was warm, ideal for my model.

Will be back in the New Year.

What a great discovery! Lampworks is a terrific and highly original studio space in Birmingham. I shot there with Beth Kate this week in the Factory part on the lower floor and loved the grungy feel - black walls, exposed brickwork etc. Chris is an excellent and helpful host and made us very welcome. There is some lighting available but I took a studio strobe with me and many photographers will want to do the same to bring the best out of these great surroundings. Thanks Chris - I'll be back :-)

JD tuition

After doing some one-to-one tuition a few months back, and a personal shoot in between, I ran a lighting workshop at Lampworks. With five photographers, one assistant and Amber Belle modelling, the facilities were perfect, and everything worked wonderfully.

The Monochrome Studio offers a unique workspace for low-key photography, and the presence of the piano and a lovely red leather sofa provide ideal settings for atmospheric images.

I hope to return in the future for more workshops!

'More a series of interesting locations' - absolutely. Very interesting, and lots of them - real value in my book.

I spent three delightful hours in the Monochrome Studio, which is an almost unique space in my experience, and explored both natural light and colours at one end, and the deep dark of the black-painted area.

I'll be back - a wonderful place to play with a camera!

Terrific venue to hire, run by a true gentleman, who couldn’t have been more helpful on the day of my shoot and in the planning stages. Thoroughly enjoyed my day at Lampworks and look forward to using this location again in the future. Check it out - you won’t be disappointed.

Lampworks is a fabulous space with so much potential to do so much creative stuff! It was a joy to attend the studio and I hope to be back one day soon.

The Studio is spacious with plenty of space to create multiple mini sets, it was kept warm throughout which is always a massive plus in my book!

I briefly met the owner who showed me to a secure area to park up before taking me to meet the photographers I was booked with.

My first visit to Lampworks was for a two-hour tutorial session with a photographer and a model.

We were largely dealing with the use of light, and the opportunities for shooting both in daylight filtered through skylights and in an effectively blacked-out are were perfect for the purpose.

I hope to have the chance to return when shooting my own images at some point - and maybe for more workshop fun, given the opportunity.

This was the first time Id used this studio, but won't be the last, it has so many fantastic areas and Chris is super helpful and hospitable looking forward to coming back here.

What a gem of a studio this is, a real Aladdin's Cave! Not a conventional studio but several great spaces with fabulous old brick walls bursting with character and a multitude of props. Really big areas to work in. You could easily shoot here all day and still not cover everything!

Chris was on hand with a warm welcome and showed me round, he even has free secure parking in his private courtyard, a real bonus for the centre of Birmingham!

I brought my own flash lights but there are some continuous lights available I believe, and there is plenty of good natural lighting in the 'Loft' area where I shot.

Also fantastic value for money!

Highly recommended, it was my first shoot here but most definitely not my last!

Had a fabulous shoot at the Lampworks..the rooms were warm, Chris is very hospitable..giving assistance if needed..lots of props and plenty of scope for different style shots ..definately be back ..thanks once again 😊

I paid my first visit to the fabulous Lampworks Studio yesterday for an all to brief, as it turned out, shoot and this wonderful location.

There are so many areas and nooks and crannies that it would be easy to spend a whole day and more shooting here and I will most certainly be back.

There is so much scope with the various rooms, props and sets to achieve anything that you can wish to conjure up and would certainly recommend it to others.
