I met John for the first time as part of a group shoot arranged by RAP Retro Air Photographic. He left a great impression. He has a great eye for an image - as well as being calm, humorous and brilliant at giving direction. In short he was an absolute joy to work with. I even tried out some of his quirky ideas and I have to say I loved stepping outside of my comfort zone. I hope that our paths will cross again very soon. It goes without saying that I would recommend him.

I worked with John yesterday at Diane's group shoot. What a hoot and a half. He borrowed one of my pirates hats and even posed. :D

I can't wait to see the results and work with him again. If you ever need a good, fun, reliable photographer; or even a rogue pirate. Just give him a call.

I have to agree with the comments below. It would seem odd I guess for me to leave a reference for a fellow photographer, but John even posed for me (Arrrr!).

Apart from his obvious skill as a photographer, John was a HUGE asset to the shoot. He has a wicked sense of humour and clearly loves shooting. A very friendly and geniune fella whom I look forward to shooting with again!

Highly recommended to models of all levels of experience. :)

Met John at a camera club shoot on monday and it was a lot of laughs with him!

He is relaxed behind the camera, loves to shoot BTS and always involved in the laughter!

He was fun to shoot with and kept it calm and collected behind the camera

I always happen to find myself doing freezing location shoots with John but it's always fun so I dont mind. John is friendly and quirky and knows how to have a laugh, and it was a good thing too as we worked late into the evening and it poured with rain throughout.....typical british weather really but we all kept our stiff upper lips on and continued with the shoot.

Even with water spots on the images, they look brilliant, so I cant wait to see the final edited results.

John surprised both me and my partner too by serving up a gorgeous dinner of chicken and parsnips afterwards to help warm us up, which we were very grateful for.

I cant wait to work with him again on yet another location shoot....lets just make sure it's warmer next time! Haha

I worked with AboutTheArt yesterday and the shoot was stress free. AboutTheArt is absolutely lovely and have no complaints about the way he works. Preshoot communication was excellent and we had discussed plenty of ideas regarding location and ideas. We also met up before the shoot to arrange ideas. AboutTheArt came prepared with camera equipment which enabled us to get lots of different styles of shots. AboutTheArt edited photos very quickly for me and was very prompt :-)

Ive had the pleasure of this tog working at my studio three times now and hes great fun, he has a great sense of humor all be it a little off the wall sometimes but never in a bad way :) The models always enjoy working with him and he produces great work. I'm no techi but hes always willing to help not only myself but anyone else that needs some help in this direction..

His pics speak for themselves and I highly recommend him to all models of all levels you wont be disappointed and you'll always have a professional but fun shoot as well, My personal thanks you for using my studio dude your the man and i look forward to working with you again very soon :)

Had a fab time shooting with John at the steam punk Group shoot in Leicester - we had lots of fun and he made me feel totally at ease. The finished images were amazing. John puts a lot of effort into his work which shows - thanks so much! Would recommend him to any model and would jump at the chance to work with him again xxx

Such a cool shoot with John the other day and i'm hoping it's not the last. We went to one of my locations and had a really successful sunrise shoot. The images I've seen off the back of the camera were amazing and I got to mess about with organza which makes me happy. John really thinks about his images a d takes great care thinking about composition and angles leaving you feeling like the best model in the world when really it's probably John! Thank you John - you were wicked.

I thoroughly enjoyed my photo shoot with 'AboutTheArt', it was my first experience of the model industry. Transport was arranged to and from the train station, as well as wonderful refreshments provided. Each location was completely thought about and I was able to get a variety of shots to enable me to build up my portfolio.

The shoot was planned a month in advance so I was able to prepare myself. The look we were trying to gain was clear so I could base my outfit choices on ideas we both came up with.

He acted very professionally, and was good at giving me directions with the expressions he was trying to portray. The shoot lasted the whole day with an additional few hours added as I was enjoying shooting the images. My best friend Pandora Poison accompanied me, after I inquired whether this was allowed. She did my make up for me, and was given clear instructions on the look 'AboutTheArt' was trying to achieve.

Overall I had a brilliant experience, I would highly recommend this photographer to anyone. All the ideas were creative, well thought out & I'd happily work with him again. What a wonderful day!

Shot with 'About the Art' on several different locations in one afternoon, on 3 different sets....It was a brilliant collaboration, he chose the location, I bought the outfits and the MUA. He really makes you feel comfortable, came up with some great pose ideas as well as allowing me to do my own. The images are fantastic and I highly and strongly recommend him and hope to work with him again on other projects.

Switherland Wood shoot was a great collaboration of models and photographers, This was the second time I've shot with 'About the Art' ...great ideas and great pictures to show after. He really makes you feel comfortable and it was a great Sunday afternoon spent, even if i did encounter some bites from the bugs :)

Ive met and worked with the tog behind "About the art" several times and had the pleasure of him using Studio G and hes worked with some of my models as well, hes always a little off the wall but great fun to work with, and he is always trying to be creative with all his work, he has a unique style and he creates some inspiring images. I have no hesitation in recomeneding him to any model that wants great images and something very different.
