I was lucky enough to attend a lighting workshop hosted by Jimmy at a small studio local to me.

He ran us through a series of simple, but effective studio lighting set ups, assisted by the fabulous Miss N.

Jimmy is a great teacher, although that sounds a bit "poncy"! Jimmy is laid back, friendly, & really easy to get on with. I learnt a lot from him, & he was incredibly patient & helpful throughout the whole shoot. This man really knows his stuff, & is unbelievably creative.

I've no hesitation in recommending him, & I hope to work with him again one day, perhaps even at his own studio.

I shot with Jmmy & Joanna Strange at Lyon studio this week. We had a fabulous day & managed to capture quite a few different sets & looks.

From what I've seen, the results are fantastic too & just what we set out to do! Both Joanna and Jimmy are a great team & I look forward to going back in the future!

The studio is well equipped for lots of different sets & is a great space as well!

I met Jimmy on a group shoot in London- the theme was superheroes. Jimmy is a pleasure to work with, had a creative mindset and was polite and respectful at all times. Saw some great stuff on the back or the camera! Hope to meet again!

Jimmy Deas..... Jimmy Deas, well what can I say..... absolute LEGEND!

After 6 months of planning I finally managed to make the trip to Surrey to shoot with this exceptionally talented photographer with my fellow model Stabitha Christie, and WOW! I'm so glad I did.

Primerally my job as an MUA, Jimmy provided me with the most detailed 'run sheet' weeks before the shoot, nothing was overlooked. This is one seriously creative, uber dedicated gentleman. He considered the fact that I was working two jobs on set (model and MUA to Stabi) and accommodated our shoot fabulously.

Jimmys communications are excellent and enthused and excited us before the shoot.

Lyon studio is wonderful, lots of natural light, sets and props. Quite possibly the best studio I've ever shot in.

Jimmy has a keen eye for creativity, this guy never stops! He worked tirelessly to create props, adjust lighting and perfectly host the whole event to ensure Stabitha and I achieved the images we all wanted. And boy are they good!

I'm seriously blown away by the last 3 days shooting with Jimmy, and I sincerely hope to shoot with him again in the future.

I would recommend Jimmy to any model in a heartbeat! This guy ROCKS!!!

Having booked a shoot with Arabella at Lyon Studios, I finally made it an hour late after my car broke down! Jimmy was very understanding and I luckily managed to make up my time during a later slot.

I walked into the studio and my jaw literally dropped! The creativity and endless possibilities at Lyon are amazing!! So many ideas and themes that you would need weeks worth of shoots just to make the most of what is there! 2 hours was definitely not enough haha!

Jimmy was super helpful throughout. Whether it is lighting, framing or cups of tea this guy knows his stuff!! Even left with a few more props :)

Goes without saying I'll be back trying new ideas and experimenting. Seriously if you feel like you are short on inspiration visit Jimmy in his studio and let your imagination go wild !!!!

Shooting with Jimmy is always a pleasure, he's crazy and creative so we get along like a house on fire! We enjoy shooting similar themes and I really enjoy our sets, we both bring different things to the table and I think it work together well :) I've always loved Jimmy's images and style so it was a no brainer to work with him again, highly recommended of course! I've had the most epic two photo shoot sessions with Jimmy up to now: the first time we shot together was a quick off-chance shoot at Joel Hicks Photographic which was when I first met Jimmy and although we only had an our to bag a few corkers alongside another event that evening, we hit it off right away and had such a giggle in the process! :D Mad as two boxes of frogs we were; I was hoping Jimmy had some sanity reserves but good job he didn't because it was the best short shoot ever and the images looked stupendous. Jimmy's outfits and accessories are truly kick-ass - safe to say that is the first time I have had the pleasure of turning into a saucy latex Minnie Mouse, absolutely genius! :D Jimmy is the kind of gent who you get on with right from the outset; he's bursting with positive energy, creative as they come and 1000% the friendliest most respectful gent you could hope to have on a shoot. I recommend him very highly (twice over!) and will certainly look forward to working together again.

The second time we worked together was super-productive, we had a little longer this time and took Minnie for a real spin around the location. The great thing about it was that we had already figured out the setting up of the look from before so we were able to get right on with the different sets and take time with the lighting. The sun was out in full force this time but Jimmy is so good with his lighting... he basically had the sun doing somersaults on demand and the images were coming out pure amazing! He's fantastic with controlled lighting too which we didn't get chance to do the first time round; it was idea after idea on a fantastic roll. :) Bouncing off one another like we did is, without a doubt, the best way for a shoot to go because you end up reading each others mind so the shots just happen with what seems like minimal effort. That's a prime example of what a good rapport does, Jimmy not only chooses ideas carefully to suit each model he works with but he's very down to earth so this makes him universally easy to get with for most people as is confirmed in his other references. The time flew by when we had a flow going but it was a relaxed shoot at the same time: Jimmy will give models plenty of breaks/look after them very well and respects every bit of effort they put in. Super courteous in every sense, we spent a lot of time nattering as well so you have to actually sit down and work out just how you ended up with so many cracking shots when you spent so much time chin-wagging. It doesn't add up at all! :P

What I saw on the back of the camera looked too darn out of this world, then Jimmy kept me in the loop with previews of the edits he cooked up for potential publications and they are brilliant in every way. He's a photographer who does not do things by half... he brings a vision to the table, and absolutely nails it completely. Professional quality lighting, stunning composition always being applied plus constant communicating with the model and working as a team to create the best out of a set. He gets the shots in no time at all when we're off and has such value for everyone involved. I have nothing but supersized compliments to send Jimmy's way and goodness knows what we shall come up with the next time we work together!

Well what can I say apart from flipping awesome.

Such a great guy and photographer. Jimmy booked me at Joel Hicks photographic studio and to be honest 4hrs really wasn't enough. We had such a laugh and got some cracking images.

Jimmy is one of them photographers that you instantly warm to. He's totally genuine and you can tell he's confident as a photographer.

Jimmy never fails to impress/amuse me! Having worked together beforehand and got to know each other, he came along yet again with his box full of pure goodies... Hats/dresses/latex etc. As a team he's so easy to work with, and the Ideas which were discussed beforehand were still flowing even during our shoot. I could shoot forever with Jimmy... Ideas/outfits are endless, and he's such a good laugh and great company. Always a joy to shoot with. Oh, and of course, the images are also super impressive! A few of our images made its way into issue 45 of twisted edge :)

Had a really awesome shoot with Jimmy at Scarlet Door during my visit to London!... It was a short 2 hours but boy did we get some awesome shots!... Comm's were brilliant and we spoke about details and outfits etc so I knew exactly what I needed!....

Jimmy arrived nice and early with a big smile on his face!... He's so chatty and friendly with a great energy about him and boy did we have a giggle!...

Like I said we got some awesome shots and I can't wait to work with him again at his place! :)....

Definitely recommended .... an awesome photographer who really knows how to work his lighting and a genuinely awesome person to spend time with!....
