James is a legend! Feels like I've shot with him soooooo many times (which I guess we have) as we have done quite a few remote shoots now. 😃 It's been a fabulous way to just "nip across to Belgium" when a creative opportunity arises, though he's such a cool guy in-person too so I do really look forward to when we can shoot in-the-flesh again. In the meantime - I have been tormenting him with crazy bespoke studio themes by means of tethered shooting at my studio. 😜

This particular reference shout is for a shoot we did way earlier in the year actually... (I've just been mightily disorganised with admin following a few crazy things happening this year and getting behind got a bit out of hand! 🙈 But my goodness was it a great shoot - with James sat comfortably at home in Belgium, and me here hosting things from my studio in Yorkshire, we made awesomeness happen with a mad Valentines theme, standard "mad Keira" fash-lingerie themes and simple artiness too! 😁 The shoot was set up around a specific seasonal/time of year theme as it seemed I have got quite the itch for since Christmas 2021... 🤣 So why the heck not chuck a few hearts up and make a fun bespoke studio set for Valentines week. 😄 The images James and I got on this shoot were simply just ace - I was chuffed to bits to have him bandwagon because he really got into the creative spirit and was giving the go-ahead for fancy makeup/crazy use of angles and lenses. James threw himself right into this shoot, and it was not only the Valentines theme that we knocked out of the park either - the most out-there mix of garments (suggested by James) in the natural light/white wall area. Bloomin' genius! I could talk about this shoot all day, it was such a prolific 4 hours from start to finish. And a perfect example of a photographer seizing the opportunity with remote resources to put their own stamp on the images. 🌟 James kindly shared the final processed shots with me after the shoot, and crikey... I mean they looked superb straight outta camera with the care taken in composition and lighting, but the finished products -wowzerrrr!

Take it from me that this is a photographer with whom you would enjoy working with time and time again. 👍 He shows the highest levels of courtesy, respects models/their levels and everything very highly, has a very sweet and easy to get on with character... And he's a great laugh too! 😃 So not only is a model working with someone who they feel totally at ease with, but you can just have a great crack whilst on that shoot which lifts the vibe to the next level. It's this which makes working so fun! The fabulous opportunities to strike good teamwork flow and like-minded rapports - and that's why we do what we do in this game after all. 🙂

Everything was super in terms of pre-shoot communications as well - even though my whole Valentines week was a bit impromptu with the setting up and design time that I possibly underestimated a little. 😅 James was a star in getting our shoot planned in a matter of a few quick messages - no fuss, straight to it and perfect organisation (even though my middle name is organised chaos! 😭) I am so grateful for how much of a breath of fresh air he is to deal with, it makes things so smooth and just easier at my end when you've got a photographer with James' nice and easy/to-the-point planning approach. Thank you so much for this alone dude!!!

So yeah - James is basically up there with the besssssst of people - highly recommended as a human/photographer and a great creative mind!

Thank you endlessly for bandwagoning James! Twas' a splendid shoot and next time... Well you'll be getting another reference for the next hope in hopefully not too long. 😆

Omg I finally got to work with James again :)

We planned a shoot before covid hit us last year and unfortunately we had to postpone our shoot. James contacted me whilst he was visiting London and we managed to line up a last minute shoot whilst he was in town and OMG I’m so glad he did.

James is such a lovely person, great chat and very relaxed.

It was so nice catching up and obviously creating together again.

I’ve been following his photography journey since we last worked together and it is stunning, I’m so honoured he booked another shoot with me.

James took part in a duo remote shoot day with myself and Mia_UK. From the pre shoot communications through to the actual shoot, he was very easy to communicate with and set his ideas out in a clear and easy to understand way, as well as providing set ideas for the shoot. He was very organised and gave us a good idea of outfits prior to the shoot, which is always helpful for a travelling model!

During the shoot itself, James was friendly and professional as well as being very approachable! He was keen to listen to ideas and was happy to experiment with any we had! The back of the camera images looked fab and I'm excited to see some of the results.

I had a lovely creative remote shoot with James recently. I absolutely loved working with him. Communication was fantastic. I knew exactly what items I needed to get out and planned the shoot around those ideas. I am a person who likes to plan, so it is always great when photographers send across moodboards and this helps me plan what will work for the shoot. James had some really great ideas and I couldn’t wait to explore these.

James was friendly, chatty and knew what he was doing with the software. We worked well as a team to create some really great images. I always love the chance to be quirky and do different styles. It’s great when a photographer lets you embrace your natural quirkyness. I love the images and hope we get the chance to be creative again soon.

We had many shoots together in the last years, and all of them were very different.

We had a remote and a “normal” shoot together this year, and we also met at some workshops. Every time, it was a pleasure to work with him.

He has a lot of ideas for the shoots, he regularly creates a mood board for the session and I can take advantage of them so we can always create something new together.

He was very cooperative on the remote shoot, he sent me the lights and background requests some days before the shoots.

He booked a fantastic a make-up artist for the normal shoot, and this made the results even more exciting. He used the available light/location possibilities very well.

He is the person I always love to work with.

Hurrayyyyy for James!!! He’s literally the nicest person on the planet for one thing... But not only that: he absolutely transforms a day on tour by taking up last minute availability, yet never actually setting foot in the room on the day of the shoot. This guy is soooo awesome that he can be across the ocean in another country whilst you connect up to work together remotely - and the vibe is still taking the roof off the premises. 😆👌

James and I worked together for only the second time on my recent tour of Northamptonshire: I was able to make use of the fantastic venue that is Natural Light Spaces, only shooting remotely! This gave me the chance to reach others far and wide (like James over in Belgium) who still have the EPIC creative skills to see and capture an image, but just live as locally handy to work at a specific place very often. Especially in a pandemic! This was literally a case of: me in my hotel room the day before - quick shout out after failed castings and James literally came to the rescue with this lifting proposal to rock it for half a day utilising both the natural light, and the studio areas of NLS. And you know what - that was one hell of a remote shoot; complete and utter quality in the form of pictures! James got totally in the flow of offering direction/being aware of camera positions/angles to maximise the aesthetic impact of each set and even equipment choices. You would look at the work we did and just assume he popped over to Northants for the day. 😛 We had sweltering sun on one of the hottest days of the year - he bossed those rays balancing everything beautifully in both harsh conditions/plus softer backlight with lots of negative space. Onto the curve with controlled lighting and we discussed/introduced different fashion items to quirk things up a notch. Again - MEGA! James was able to spot things that caught his eye in a millisecond, but also allowed me to flow and get into my repertoire expressing with the look in question. This guy is such a passionate photographer - I just don’t have the words! I really felt that he put his stamp on the shoot entirely with the remote way of working, and I cannot wait to share more of the images he so kindly shared with me after processing. They’re bloody insane - for all the right reasons! 😉

James was his same lovely self - simply a joy to chat with (as he was the first time we worked together). Really chilled out and patient/appreciative when I was doing both the moving of the set/equipment plus outfit changes at the same time, even though it might feel a bit slower for the photographer during these points when shooting remotely. He is professional to the core, decent in every way and I can absolutely vouch for him being a very credible person to work with based on shooting with him both in-person and then the “virtual” way more recently. I cannot recommend him enough to be honest. 🙂 His comms were fantastic; despite everything being a bit crazy last minute haha. He’s just a star from all corners!
