References for Iulia David

I signed up for Iulia’s beauty workshop in Birmingham.

Starting with a beauty shoot, we processed one of the photos through to a finished image.

Iulia talked us through her workflow, and provided Photoshop actions for us to work with.

It was a small class, with just three students, which meant that Iulia was able to keep an eye on our progress and sort out any individual issues.

I found the workshop really useful, and I’ll certainly be using the techniques in future - well worthwhile.

This was my first visit to Studio 33 and I just want to say what a great location it is. I was shooting with the magnificent Ayla but both Iulia and her sister helped in getting my "everything including the kitchen sink" from the car park to the studio which I could have done alone. A big thank you to Iulia and I look forward to taking some much needed lessons in photo retouching.

I met Iulia for the first time yesterday on a Fashion and Beauty workshop she organised with Kissie at Studio 33. Despite some truly shocking driving conditions across snow covered roads, the trip was certainly worth the effort. Iulia is a highly talented photographer and a great host who is friendly and open to ideas. During the evening, several setups were arranged and attendees came away with a good variety of high quality images to add to their portfolio. If you are building a network of good, creative professionals to work with, then Iulia comes highly recommended from me.

I met Iulia last week for a studio shoot in London- it was the day of the snow, and despite many delays for all of us we all managed to get there somehow! Iulia made me feel very welcome, put heaters on to help me warm up, then we went through 4 amazing beauty looks, with the help of a great MUA. Iulia is clearly a very skilled photographer and retoucher, it's great to work with someone like herself and I had a really fantastic day despite the bad weather! Id love to work together in the future and can't wait to see what we produced!

Oh my days....What a woman. This lady is amazing!!!

For ages now i have wanted to work with Iulia so when she got in touch saying she wanted to shoot you can imagine how excited i was. I knew the shoot would be amazing but i didnt know until i met her what a beautiful lovely person she is. An absolute dream to work with and so much fun. To be that awesome at what you do and humble with it is incredible! We got through 3 totally different looks and sets with the help of the awesome Mua Bryanna and together created some amazing work. I'm so excited to see what she pulls off when she adds her magic to the images. To anyone whoever gets the opportunity to work with her....don't miss it!!!

I was lucky enough to have a shoot with Iulia on Friday. What an amazing, incredibly talented and absolutely lovely woman she is. From the minute I arrived I felt so at ease. Iulia is warm, friendly, fun and extremely talented and with it all very down to earth. Iulia's ideas were amazing and I was so happy with the style. The pictures she created are incredible and I am so excited to see the finished products. Bryanna who was the MUA and also very lovely, friendly and talented created some amazing looks. I had such an amazing day and would absolutely love to have the chance to work with Iulia again. :)

Have just returned from an afternoon being educated by Iulia in the fine art of high end retouching.

I've been wanting to explore portraits for a while, but my retouching skills being the weak point always shied away. Unable to make some of the workshops, I contacted Iulia to see if it was possible to arrange a 1-to-1 session. Am so glad I did.

Iulia teaches at a very relaxed pace, first demonstrating then guiding you through the processes - letting you take the time needed to fully understand each step. Incredibly patient and understanding when your trying to grasp the required techniques (and help to recover after mistakes made).

One of the best tutorials / workshops / trains sessions I've attended. Looking forward to practising the skills.

If retouching training is required - then Iulia comes very highly recommended.

I have self taught myself with the aid of internet tutorials to use Photoshop, and was getting frustrated, (have you noticed that the tutorial never start from where you want to start, and have a different look and feel to your set up) I wanted to understand how things worked and why. Iulia was recommended in a thread on facebook, so I asked if she could spare me some 1 to 1 time. It was great to bounce ideas with Iulia and understand that there are many ways to do things, I found that one of my techniques was introducing noise and Iulia showed my a way of doing the process without the noise.

We set a date to co-incide with a shoot I had in London and we managed to meet up at her studio. She worked into the evening to cover about 10 topic, its was so worth it.

I offered Iulia a collaboration shoot at The Hacienda and I was lucky enough to get accepted! Ive heard so many great things about her it was a real pleasure to finally meet her! Although I was a little nervous on the day, I liked some of the images and her ideas were fabulous. It was a true exception to work with an accomplished female photographer of similar age to myself. I am, obviously very excited to see the images when they are ready!! Shooting with Iulia was relaxed and creative, very highly recommended!

Even thought I "thought" I was pretty accomplished at retouching, I was missing the more advanced side, therefore I started to look for an advanced retoucher and beauty specialist, Iulia came up on my search and recommendations several times and so I asked if she could spare me some 1 to 1 time.

We set a date and even though she was some 3 hours drive from me, its was so worth it, the lady is way up there with the top masters, and I learnt some really special advanced ways to improve my work. But putting all that aside its her teaching method that is lovely, she is gentle, patient, brilliant and never belittles you. I cant recommend her enough, it was an honour to be taught by such a great artist. Thank you Martin

Iulia was the digital retoucher/photoshop Goddess on a workshop that I attended last week at the Hacienda Studio.

My knowledge of Photoshop is very basic so I was looking forward to meeting Iulia and seeing how she worked.

This lady is a great retoucher, her knowledge of Photoshop and how to enhance a beauty image/portrait is second to none.

Iulia is also a lovely person, very patient, and explaining how (in an easy to understand way) to user her methods to improve your work.

I totally enjoyed my time spent with Iulia and look forward to putting my new found skills to use.

Did a workshop today with Iulia and did it blow my mind. I have my own way of retouching images and I've always want to up my knowledge so when the workshop came up, I jumped at the chance to learn some new skills. The 4 hrs flew by with Iulia showing us how to that a beauty shot and then a silhouette shot with Cheryl Elizabeth the model for the workshop. After the first hr, Iulia showed everyone how she does a retouching of an image and it was good to her that she says it's not THE way, but the way she does it and that you can take elements from it and add them into your own workflow. I've always limited myself to tools I know in Photoshop, but I've now had my eyes open to use other tools in the PS box and not rely on some of the techniques I've picked up over my timing retouching images.

I looking forward to editing pictures in the future to see how the images I've taken come out with using Iulia's workflow.

Finally!!! My debut in Photoshop was during Iulia's tuition course, and I am so glad it happened there: the amount of information was staggering, all presented in an informal and casual way, allowing even me to absorb all this knowledge. Iulia was a perfect host, organized everything with the model, the MUA, and the 4 attendees, taking the time to help each one of us on our different laptop configurations, even lent me her gear to experience working with a tablet(I love my mice, but now I know better)

I can't wait to work with her again, maybe some of her skill will rub off on me, she's such a pleasing and inspiring person to work with!

Even a veteran from PP was there and I could see he picked up new things and enjoyed working with us all, so yes: after you'll work with Iulia, you'll be wanting to come back for more.

Attended a Photoshop for Beauty Portraits course today run by Iulia with Amber Tutton as the model for the course. An excellent course, beautifully led by Iulia for whom nothing was too stupid a question to ask. Highly recommended if you need to up your Photoshop game!

Having done Beauty photography in the past, but not knowing where to start with the editing side. I came across Iulia's page and saw she was advertising some workshops. However being unable to make the dates, I contacted her to book a 1-2-1 training session whilst photographing Lena!

What an amazing day it was!! :) :)

Iulia was ever so polite and welcoming from the beginning, having booked a make-up artist for the shoot we started straight away! Her studio is a very straightforward white space kept very clean with plenty of room! Having originally planned one make-up look with the model, the make-up artist was so quick that we got through three different looks! The results look amazing from off the camera and everyone collaborated amazingly!

Following the shoot Iulia helped with the editing side of her work. I never realised just how much time went into Beauty work but she was very patient with me (luckily)! By the end I had not one but two edited shots and learnt so much from the shoot.

Hopefully we will work together again sometime soon. Very highly recommended by me, if you are ever interested in trying Beauty, meet Iulia and she will show you some of the very best techniques there are!

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Iulia today at her wonderful new studio!! Which is a fabulous studio I might add! - so much amazing light!! A great space indeed!

I have admired Iulia's work for so long and was honoured to finally be a part of it! She is an amazing photographer and retoucher!

What a lovely lady she is!! I felt very comfortable with Iulia right away! She has a very friendly and welcoming persona which puts models right at ease :) I love her attitude and I had lots of fun shooting :)

As a photographer Iulia is great! She knows exactly what she wants and doesn't mess around! She works quickly but efficiently and knows exactly when she's got the shot! Though she made sure I was happy with the shots too before we stopped sets! Though we seemed to like the same shots which is always a good sign!

Her passion and obvious love for what she does is so evident! It is beautiful to see :)

The back of the camera shots were lovely! I adore Iulia's composition ! She really has a great eye! She knew how to capture my best angles and I cannot wait to see the finished results because her retouching skills are incredible!

Such a talented person who i am sure is destined for great things! And her hard work , dedication and talent will take her there!

I am so glad and feel so lucky to have worked with her and I am so happy that it won't be our last shoot together!! Can't wait to work with her again!!
