Andrew Clifton

I'm a professional photographer based just outside Bath.  Since I set up my business in 2017, most of my income has come from mainstream portrait and commercial photography and since 2020, increasingly, from online tuition, retouching and digital editing services.  Throughout this time, however, I’ve also been actively exploring my creative interests including landscape, wildlife and fine art nude portraiture.

Creatively speaking, over most of the past year I’ve been concentrating mainly on my wildlife work – but I’ve now decided to come back to PP and update my profile for three main reasons.  First, I’ve now built up a portfolio of wildlife photography that I’m fairly pleased with, and I thought I should upload some of these pictures here, as I  think the PP community may enjoy them.  Second, I’m planning to offer my digital editing services – for trade, to begin with, to build up a retouching portfolio.  And third, I’m also starting work on a new project in fine-art portraiture, so it’s finally time to start booking some shoots again.

GARDEN SAFARI

A few months ago, I set up a hide and a feeding station in the semi-wilderness I like to call my garden – and  started work on a garden wildlife photography  project.  I have uploaded a set of my best images to an album here, called Garden Safari.  Take a look, and let me know what you think!  

DIGITAL EDITING AND RETOUCHING

I’m currently undertaking a limited amount of digital editing and retouching work free of charge, in exchange for the right to post copies of the edited work online, here on PP and on social media.  My choice of assignments work will depend on my impression of the quality of the images to be edited and the value of adding the finish work to my portfolio.  I plan to start charging for my services fairly soon, so if you’d like to get some high quality professional editing done for free, please get in touch! 

WANTON STORYTELLING...

This project is a creative collaboration with a budding young writer, based in the USA, who writes under the pseudonym Erato – the name, in case you don’t know, of the Muse of erotic poetry.  She is currently working on a series of short stories and literary reviews which she plans to start publishing early next year in the form of a blog, and possibly also via a podcast.  What she has asked me to do is to create a series of beautiful images, at levels ranging from non-nude glamour to fine-art nude, that she can use to illustrate and promote her work.

Erato describes her literary style as “wanton erotica”, and she tells me that it seeks to “celebrate the joy of misbehaving, responsibly.”  She explains the word “wanton” originally meant “wild”, “free” or “untamed”. Applied to human behaviour, this word has acquired some negative connotations, but Erato choses to define it in a very positive way, as “uninhibited, liberated, seductive, playful, loving, generous and joyful”.   These are the emotions and attitudes she would like me to capture on camera, if I can.

The levels required for this project are flexible and will depends on the model’s limits – so the shoot style can be non-nude glamour, lingerie, implied nude, topless or art nude, depending on your preference.  I will pay models their standard rates for a (minimum) two hour shoot, plus travel expenses if required.  If you’re interested, please let me know and we can talk about booking a shoot.
