What a lovely photographer! Great communications through out the remote duo shoot between Angel Black Uk and I. Iain was happy for us to freestyle as well as give suggestions.

I honestly recommend this Photographer to everyone. He made the shoot fun, relaxing and comfortable.

Third shoot with Iain and as always he was an absolute gentleman, very professional and lots of fun! This time it was a duo shoot with IronGem (my first duo!!) and it was definitely a success. Back of camera images looked great and as I’ve said before, I would definitely recommend and looking forward to our next shoot ♥

Iain and I once again had another remote shoot, back at Two Wei Location House again and just like the other shoots we've done, it was a joy. He is so polite and professional, with such a kind soul, always checking the model is alright, encouraging regular water breaks and putting my health and well being above everything. His pre shoot communications are fabulous, always making sure I know exactly what to bring with me ahead of the shoot day.

Iain isn't afraid to mess with the camera settings, yet also happy to listen to J Black's suggestions throughout. I genuinely love working with Iain, he's so easy going and relaxed, yet you still get the work done.

I couldn't recommend him enough, thankyou for an amazing shoot and I'll see you next month!

I can't believe this was the last time I shot with Iain! That definitely needs rectifying soon as we have always had such brill times working together both remotely and in-person... This time was no different; in fact it was festively creative and magic with some very innovative ideas for Christmas (more effort than I have probably made in past years for seasonal things, but I know Iain is game for mad ideas!) I remember the session well, because the same funky makeup I did for the final set I ended up leaving on with no time to spare and marching down to the hospital straight after with some awful/emergency news about a family member (one of the reasons why my reference is so late!) A few months down the line and with things in a much better place - I can now laugh about this because I literally had candy canes drawn clearly on my face! There aren't many photographers willing to tackle such unique ideas - especially that take a bit more time with styling (this probably feels like a drag more so on a remote shoot in particular!) but Iain is really a joy to work with in that sense because he is delighted for the models to express ideas and throw their own input into the shoots. As a result; we got some truly lovely pictures... And I look forward to posting them for Christmases' to come! 😃

With remote shooting; the model is doing the work in moving the set/lights and arranging everything physically. Iain always shows great patience, but also has a good eye now for spotting things and coming up with angles/shots that he sees in sprouting opportunities during a shoot. He also gives really nice on-shoot feedback so if something is particularly working well - he'll say so and you can work it some more and make certain you smash whatever it was that was an eye catcher at the time. This sort of connection and communication is priceless for working well together and generating good bounce between you. 👌 As I prepared the shots to send over in WeTransfer after the shoot, it did give me a reignited buzz to see how fruitful our shoot actually was.

Iain is great in the run-up to a shoot as well - I mean in terms of communications and so forth, he really likes to build up a rapport with models early on and tries to make sure he covers all ground from outfits to sets. He is conscious to not leave a stone unturned and wants to put the foundations there to ensure a shoot is as successful as it can be. Full credit to him for thinking and showing concern for these things - you have to have a relative plan, even if you do improvise a little as well (which we have also done sometimes!) He's otherwise very laid back and happy to go with the flow, I think he does have faith in what models can suggest when it's their location as well... Because he might be going into a shoot not knowing exactly what's there (you can send lists/descriptions of your resources, but unless you've been there and walked around a place/set you probably are going in a little bit blind) he subsequently appreciates when models input suggestions and possibilities in the pre-shoot communications. It shows enthusiasm and willingness to get the best out of the shoot I think. 😊 You have to have interest and drive in this game after all, it doesn't work otherwise... Or doesn't work as well when your hearts not in it. Iain loves his shoots though - never a dull session working with him, we have even had several FPI's from our remote shoots which is pretty nice a touch (even though we're shooting for the moment/for our own creativity rather than anything else) pretty cool when the mad ideas get appreciated elsewhere.🤩

The same decent and respectful gentleman that he has always been... Yes - I can confirm this once again. 🌟 I honestly couldn't tell you how many shoots we have had now - I have lost count! But I know that on each one, whether we are in the room together virtually (as we were this most recent time) or in-person, that Iain is pleasant, courteous and expels a very nice character. I always feel at ease working with him and feel that he treats models in a good way to ensure they feel comfortable and happy throughout the course of a shoot. On top of that - we have a laugh and talk ALOT! Gosh we could win some awards for just how much we do natter. 🤣

So there we go - another highly successful shoot! I doubt it's going to be too long before our next... LONG OVERDUE! I know that much. 🙈

I love working with Iain, he is a true gentleman and makes the shoot run smoothly. This was yet another remote shoot, this time with a Christmas theme and we discussed the sets in detail, deciding on outfits ahead of the shoot day. His pre shoot communications are always well managed and he provides all of the necessary information from the get go.

During the shoot itself, he's always more than happy to listen to my ideas and experiment with them, which we did with some (very fast changing) multi coloured fairy lights! He's always polite and professional and very courteous throughout the shoot, he was also understanding that I was just beginning to get sick and even offered to rearrange! He's such a lovely gentleman and I've truly loved our shoots - I'm looking forward to working with him again next month!

Iain and I shot together again during a recent trip to Two Wei Location House, albeit remotely. As with our other shoots, his ore shoot communications were excellent, giving me a concise list of items to bring with me in advance which helped me massively when I was packing!

He's always keen to listen to my ideas and eager to try them out, even despite some of them being experimentational! ;)

Iain is a true gem to work with, he's a genuinely lovely gentleman, making me feel at ease straight away - conversation easily flows and as usual he's polite and professional throughout the shoot.

So after all our several many shoots; we decided it was time to do something about the fact that we had not yet worked together in-person in a studio! 👀🤪

Yes I really have lost count of the sheer number of times I have worked with the lovely Iain... He is always down for creative remote concepts (we have done soooo many of these now and got some cracking results!) We have also shot on location twice (both times were ambitious adventures for different reasons! 😅) But in all the times I’d been up/where the opportunities arose to work face-to-face - it appeared we were yet to work in a controlled studio setting. Well that had to change didn’t it... 😁 So on my latest tour of Scotland; we made a plan to visit Studio12 in Paisley and cover some super cool looks across a range of studio-based genres. And I can wholeheartedly confirm: it was another wonderfully successful shoot, and Iain was (as usual) a joy to work with. 🙂

We had a nice series of options at Studio12... They offer quite a few different backgrounds/props, and the various lighting and modifiers there make it possible to achieve a great range of effects. We kicked it off with some fun fashion looks: diving into the colossal wardrobe that I’d brought along and putting together some super cute looks. ☺️ I absolutely loved some images we did a while back (remotely) with a somewhat cheeky pinup vibe - so I was thrilled when Iain took to a similar fun look/series of expressions with a slightly different dress code. Also: daisy dukes and sass-tastic red boots... YASS!!! Iain also proposed some more low-key/sculptural nude work where we could rock out some shapes and rock the washing of the light across the body - help in setting up kindly provided by Gordon Ritchie at the studio. Again: the time flew by like lightening! Iain and I also talk a lot, so the great social element possibly had something with the clock speeding up haha! 😆 In the time we had though; I must say! We got some very lush pictures and had a real blast... Iain routinely approaches his shoots with lots of enthusiasm, and values greatly what a model can bring to a shoot. We actually arranged this whilst I was literally on the road, so bounced ideas/made a plan and then executed it all in quite a short space of time - yet still getting great results and having a ball. 💁🏻‍♀️

Iain has always come across very professional and respectful. I feel as comfortable working with him in-person as I do remotely - I also feel like we have a fantastic working relationship now and either one of us knows how the other works/what styles we can rock. It’s always very beneficial when you’ve been fortunate enough to gel like this. 🙂 But nevertheless; I even found him really pleasant and good-natured when we had our first ever shoot way back when! He’s a photographer I would happily recommend (for the umpteenth time now!) And the next time we get the chance to do something is always a creative future blast to look forward to. 😃

This was my second shoot with Iain. Sorry its a very late reference. Both shoots were brilliant. One being a duo with the wonderful IronGem and the second was a lovely autumnal shoot with the sun shining down on us. Really beautiful day and we created some really lovely phots together. I look forward to working with Iain in a studio soon as discussed. Iain as a person is very kind and attentive. I felt instantly comfortable in his company. Our first shoot we even went our for Indian food after and it was an absolute delight. Highly recommend to any model.

Had a really fantastic shoot with Iainm during my Glasgow Tour at my hired Apartment.

Prior to shooting pre-shooting communication were just spot on and everything was so easy to plan and organize. As a result things went really smoothly on the day.

We shot a variety of fashion and lingerie sets as well as some implied looks too. Iainm is so easy to work with and talk to. He’s really respectful as well which definitely put me at ease as well. We didn’t rush things and took our time and as a result I was really relaxed which showed In the images.

Iainm really focuses on quality images and is such a talented photographer. I’m so lucky to have had the chance to work with him. I’d more than recommended him.

Irongem / Gemma

This was our fourth shoot together. This time, at Studio R3 in Glasgow and with another photographer, George Boyd. This one was very well planned out in regards to outfits and space thankfully compared to the few days before!

It was great being in the studio and using the available lighting and space to create some fabulous looks. Both Iain and George gave me freedom with posing and were happy allowing me to work through my moodboard of ideas for most looks. We got through about 4 different sets I think? Each one being great fun and relaxed to shoot. I hope we got some good results from it, and we already have another shoot planned next month which I look forward to very much!

Iain is a pleasure to work with, easy to get along with, kind, checks in if everything is okay and all is within comfortability - an all round professional gentleman. I highly recommend him to models of all styles and who work to all levels. He captures everything beautifully and always shows the back of the camera images to make sure you are happy with what he has captured! :)

Shoot number three with Iain. In a hotel setting once again, but sadly the room turned out to be nothing like what I had booked! Thankfully, we made the most of the space and had a fun time chatting and shooting away. Iain is great at working with the light and capturing poses in a flattering angle. It was a pleasure once again to work with him and we even had a shoot two days later planned, we mjst be doing something right! :)

Had a lovely shoot today at mypad studio with Iain. Iain is great with lighting and his photos looked great on the camera as he was showing me as we went along. Iain is always a gentleman and always enjoy our shoots :) really fun and creative.

Shoot number two with Iain.

Our first was a couple of weeks ago at MyPad, and this time in a room I was using for shoots on a mini tour in Glasgow. Both times with this man were just as great and easy-going. He easily adapted to the surroundings outwith a studio environment and worked with what we had available very well.

Iain is respectful, polite, good fun and an all around great creative to work with. He has excellent pre-shoot communications and makes sure a model is comfortable with what is captured at all times by showing images off the back of the camera as we go along. It is always nice to see what is being captured to pose and move accordingly. Any time I throw an idea at him, he is happy going along with it and also throwing back suggestions for improvement where needed.

Iain is easy-going and relaxed in his approach to shooting. There is no rush as a model, he allows time to transition between posing which is wonderful to like each and every capture without a few funny faces in between! He is very open to ideas and will allow a model to work the way they enjoy and feel comfortable with. He makes great use of light and angles to capture ideas too.

We have another few shoots already in the pipeline over the next couple of months, which I will look forward to very much. Iain is a star to work with. I highly reccomend him to other models. :)

Iain has worked with us remotely on a few occasions now for Team Black Event's ran by J Black Photographic and Angel Black. He's a polite and courteous gentleman who never rushes and always gives the model plenty of breathing space, enabling her to be fully posed before her clicks the button. His pre shoot communications are always excellent and well thought out ahead of time. His interaction is friendly and engaging, making the shoot progress with ease.

We'd highly recommend Iain and wouldn't hesitate to work with him in the future.

My fifth photo session with Iain and on this occasion doing a mixture of clothed and art nude themes outdoors up at Little Glenshee adhering to Covid guidelines.

We enjoyed another fabulous day of fine weather up the wee Glen with awesome results.

Iain's communications were perfect before via messaging, during and with fab directions with a lovely relaxed but productive shoot. Armed with my bag of clothing ideas and materials we went through a mixture of pre discussed looks and I loved the images Iain captured.

With an approachable and welcoming manner plus just being great to chat with as your shoot progresses and super friendly Iain is a joy to work with.

Very safety conscious and helpful with a very professional manner.

Highly recommended, Iain is respectful, a passionate and enthusiastic photographer and takes beautiful images. We always have a super fun shoot and I love the photos we create. Do not miss out.

Had a great second shoot with Iain, this time at MyPad studio hire. Again pre shoot comms were great and the shoot itself was very enjoyable, Iain is an absolute gentleman and very friendly. We got through so many looks in the time and the photos are awesome!

I had the pleasure of working with Iain for the fourth time doing a mixture of clothed and art nude outdoors on location at Balvaird Castle adhering to Covid guidelines. I had mentioned this location to Iain which is around a twenty minute drive from my home in Perth and he loved the sound of it. It is a ruin so there are plenty of dog walkers and tourists pop up there but luckily it was a fairly quiet day and we were not disturbing anyone. We did some of the art nude styles first when nobody was around and stuck to some clothed styles throughout. Iain was on hand with my coat at all times and he is such a gentleman with great respect for his models. It is such a fabulous location for many styles and we had such a productive shoot with lots of beautiful results.

Communications were once again spot on, deciding on a few different looks for our shoot, Iain also gives great direction and he is very safety conscious always making sure also you are happy with everything.

Really highly recommended, a true gentleman and wonderful photographer, do not miss out.

You will enjoy spending your time with Iain he is fabulous company and is such a nice person, we always have some great banter and take wonderful images in the process.

Iain and I have worked together more times than I can count now! Most of which have actually been remote shoots (check out past references!) But this time; we took the plunge and went back to how we very first shot - in the outdoor wilderness of Bonnie Scotland! 🤩 It was my first proper tour since the pandemic chaos had somewhat subsided - I didn’t want us to miss the chance to shoot as we’d been talking about getting out with the elements again for SOOO long. So t’was that we managed to grab a date that enabled both suitability from a location point of view, and reasonable accessibility for both of us. 😃 The beautiful countryside that surrounds Pitlochry was the perfect candidate!

Our location choice wound up being quite a well known waterfall trail. Neither of us knew the area massively well for hidden places totally off the beaten track - but we figured such a big place would have photogenic opportunities where we could just sneak out of spectator view and grab the killer shots. That: we did! And in fact we got so very confident with wondering off-path that we very nearly got ourselves lost. 😅 Talk about one for the memoirs! Alas we successfully snatched many a chance to capture waterfall cascades and pools, charismatic trees, cute bridges, rapids and more in their spectacular natural beauty. ☺️ From fashion through to artistic nude - we grabbed a variety of magical shots! And this time we were so much more blessed with the weather than the first time we met and worked together. 😄 It all came together superbly really - and we got out into the wild for nature’s connection and fresh air. What’s not to love?!

Iain’s a joy to work with in any situation: he’s very enthusiastic about shooting in a multitude of environments, and willing to strive to get the best out of every moment - even when you’re faced with challenges such as iffy weather or less light in sheltered areas. We’d both been very excited about getting out and about again - and Iain communicated well in the run-up, keeping me well informed from his side so we could get things arranged whilst I was experiencing quite hectic times on the go myself! He’s always happy to help, replies promptly and is a professional gentleman from the outset of comms to the very end of the shoot itself. I’ve always felt really at ease working with Iain, and am overjoyed to be able to give him another glowing reference in relation to another actual in-person shoot! Even though we’ve shot an endless number of times!

On top of all else; we had a good giggle, hiked like pro mountaineers and even kept spirits high when we wound up deep in the wild vegetation not having a clue which direction was which! 😂 The vibe remained upbeat at all times and we simply didn’t stop chatting at any given time. He really is a super nice guy, and it’s a pleasure having his company.
