References for Iain Hamilton Photography - Studio 301

Highly recommended! I've known Iain for quite some now but recently instead of my bespoke dresses being behind the lense, it's been me. I absolutely love working with Iain, He's a great guy who makes you feel so comfortable,very friendly and respectful, also fun to work with. As always, a great teacher, It felt like a modelling lesson and photography lesson- both of which I really appreciate knowing about. I loved the outfit we used, as he brought it 'it's a one of a kind' - already i knew it was a winning shoot, the details on the garment were beautiful, the fishing line hem created a beautiful soft finish, and an element of vulnerability to the shoot concept he had in mind. I also love the concept he came up with, he is such an amazing creative. Already cannot wait for the next one when he gets back in November! Again, highly recommended. Rebecca.x

Had the absolute pleasure of shooting with Iain last Sunday. After admiring his work for a long time glad it finally happened. Had a blast! We got through so many sets and each one was brilliant and very different to what I have done. Could not simply ask for any more.

Iain also looked after me very well and kept me fed and watered. I also, learned a lot about lighting and camera settings which is useful.

Thank you for an awesome day. Love the results I have received so far. Hope this was not last time we shoot! Highly recommended. :)

What more can I say about Iain that I and others have not already said? I started working with Iain over a year ago now. 200 miles away and I keep coming back. Iain is a fabulous host and has made sure I am 100% looked after on every visit.

Last year, I was begging Iain for us to go to the Lakes, to which he politely notified me that we did require a whole day to do so... We planned it this year... Leaving the final details to the last minute (typical of me) and HELL, we needed a whole day. We drove round winding roads through mountains, like you've never seen before, for hours to get where we wanted to go. We really needed a day he was not wrong!

We shot a couple of outfits in a couple of locations and wow, the stuff Iain created was phenomenal... And we are going to the Lakes again next year (so you know Iain)... In the midst of my short trip, we also shot some studio.

I cannot recommend Iain highly enough, he has become a dear friend and is a true gent. Just book him, that's all I need to say really!!! :D:D:D

Unfortunately I haven't had chance to shoot with Iain himself but I have met him & also used his excellent studio! Iain's extremely friendly & helpful & supplied me with advice & endless cups of tea as well as warming my socks for me:D The studio is well facilitated & has many background options. Hoping to shoot in the near future maybe?

Iain was so fun to work with.. fab comms, fab studio and fab shoot to shoot with!

I learnt a few tips from Iain which was good to know. I would highly recommend as he is a fantastic photographer and very creative. Definitely would like to shoot together again soon.

Thanks for the help with the outfits and equipment, Iain. A good studio with a choice of natural or studio lights. I had a good idea of the set-up that I wanted and Iain was very accommodating in setting it up.

Iain hosted a group night for me at studio 301 & although (regrettably) he didn't shoot with me, he was my bitch for the evening, was very attentive supplying water and cooling fans/music/food anything I wanted! I had an awesome time, very sad that the studio is closing soon as I would have loved to set up another event. Fantastic 100% recommendation from me.

I did a studio day at Iain's and am already looking forward to my next one. :)

Communication was great, we sold out very quickly and Iain was fantastic on the day, helping things run smoothly whether that was helping direct with lighting or teaching new photography techniques.

He's very easy to get on with, which meant I not only felt at ease while shooting but spent a lot of the time in between slots chatting and laughing. Always a plus! :)

Had my second shoot with Iain yesterday and it was just brilliant, very productive, lots of styles shot, he gives great direction for when he's after a specific pose or needs something slightly tweaked, his lighting is spot on and he wastes no time in getting the shots. Iain's studio is comfortable and well facilitated and the chap himself is friendly and has good banter, what more could you want?

Had a great time modelling for a group shoot at Iains studio as well as another separate booking. Iain is very friendly, easy to work with, super cool and knows his stuff! In just a few hours we managed to get a wide range of lighting set ups and looks! I highly recommend working with Iain as the results will be epic and of a high standard! I hope to see him again soon and create some amazing images!

I did a two-day studio shoot at Studio 301 and also got to work with Iain as well! Iain is an aboslute legend- very chilled, professional, fun - and of course a very talented photographer. His lighting skills are empeccable! not only this, but I really learnt alot from him and think we achieved some execellent shots in a short space of time. His work is of a very high standard, and gives clear direction, so shooting with him was a great experience. I'm already looking forward to returning to Lancashire, and hopefully working with Iain again. I have alot of respect for his keen eye for photography, styling and creative flare. Highly reccomended of course! Thanks for such a great few days :)

Hi, I had the pleasure of working at Iain's Studio 301 in Preston over the weekend; the studio is clean, tidy & well equipped, with plenty of variety on offer.

Try to shoot in the natural light as it streams through the windows & is very soft in nature.

During my shoot Iain was on hand to help with lighting & give me some great advise.

The Studio & Iain are highly recommended & I've booked a return visit already.

I got to shoot in Studio 301 this weekend on my trip up North. Iain was a great host and very welcoming. The studio was fab and due to the location of it we also got to use the hallway of the and lift which was perfect for something a bit different. Fully kitted out with all the things you need for a studio shoot and had had a makeup area and changing room for us models which is always nice to have.

I would defineteley be using this studio when I come to the North next and would highly recommend it to all!

Had a brief shoot with Iain at his studio alongside Dave and Jimmy and he was an absolute pleasure to work with!

He pays great attention to detail and knows what he wants to achieve from each look; in fact I have never worked with anyone who is so observant in small elements which just accentuate the photos. He also is brilliant at giving direction when needed, I would highly recommend him!

Oh and his studio is awesome- has everything you could ever want and HEAPS of space! :)

Iain is an absolutely fantastic photographer! He is polite, professional and bubbly person! Iain helped me and gave me lots of tips for future shoots! He has an amazing studio with several backdrops, changing room, mirrors, everything you could possibly need! I would DEFFIANTLY recommend him to ANYBODY! I Would love to have another shoot with him in the future!

Having worked with Iain previously, this time I had a studio day at his lovely versatile studio in Preston. Everyone who attended was amazing and conducted themselves well in a professional manner. I had a great time at the studio and thanks to Iain's assistance with light setup which is absolutely brilliant, everyone left very happy and with great images.

Iain's lighting technique is.......oooh.....from my 4yrs experience in modelling and working with all types and levels of photographers and being a coloured model.....Iain is one of the best and I will really recommend to all photographers looking to improve their lighting technique to have a session or two with Iain and you definitely will not be disappointed. Knowing from experience how a lot of photographers struggle with light and especially with a dark skin model. Iain's lighting technique works well with all skin type and produces brilliant results and models who get to work with him you are sure to bag yourself some absolutely amazing images to improve your port.

Definitely one of the best and very highly recommended!!!

What can I say about Iain...he's brilliant! Not only is he an amazing photographer, but he honestly is such a kind, respectful, fun and generous person. Iain took time out of his busy schedule to give me some incredibly helpful lessons that I have no doubt have already had an impact on my modelling career. He made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera, taking the time to explain how the lighting would hit my body so I could learn what works and what doesn't. After years of modelling it was a delight for a photographer to talk me through that process. The images I have received so far have been some of the very best I have in my port. I cannot recommend Iain enough he truly is one of the very best! I cannot wait to work with him again!

So, I had the pleasure of working with the awesome Iain again! My oh my! He just gets better and better! (and he was bloody awesome in the first place!)

Iain very kindly gave me a place to stay on my little trip up North, not only did he do this, but he made sure that there was food (to my taste) available upon my arrival, and made sure that I was looked after the whole time I stayed.

Not only is Iain a fantastic host, but a wonderful photographer too. On the Friday of my stay (after some typical chronic over-sleeping on my part) we headed across to Iain's studio. We must have got through 10 different outfits, all at the speed of light! After the MU and outfit changes were done, Iain had the lighting set up, I posed a bit and hey presto he nailed it in about 3 minutes per set! He honestly is a true lighting master, he knows what to put where and has developed such a phenomenal speed with it *gobsmacked*! :D

Iain also has a superb SOH, so not only will you have great results, you will also have an awesome time laughing, joking, and just having an awful lot of fun!

As usual, Iain is a true gentleman, and never afraid to share knowledge, explaining ironing in photoshop to me (honestly - I do iron ;-) ;-/)

After our day in the studio, we did a little 'natural light bedroom' the following morning, which is now a little running joke of ours. Iain was, unsurprisingly, just as speedy to nail our natural light shots as he was the studio ones.

To sum it all up, all I can really say is that if Iain wants to work with you, or you get the opportunity, go for it! He is one of the most talented, kind and chivalrous people that I have had the pleasure to meet and I will work with him again and again! x
