We recently worked together in the home studio I have use of. During our session, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism and creativity across a variety of photography styles.

Hallucinating Light booked a slot during my duo day at home with Aurora Violet, and as usual he left much of the creative input up to us/me, which worked really well as we had loads of ideas. I feel we got a very nice variety, although again we’re battling lowlight conditions on that particular day. As usual he wasn’t very phased by it though, and he shot so beautifully. It was truly blissful to interact with another model and be photographed that day by one of my favorite photographers… the results are gorgeous.

Had my third and best yet shoot with Derek yesterday. Consistently, he offers the most wonderful company, as well as captures BEAUTIFUL images. He uses natural light, which I prefer, and has allowed me full access to do my own edits on our sets. I shoot full time and very rarely do shots make it into my portfolio, but his images of me have, from every shoot we’ve done. I have a unique face and he captures my most relaxed, connected expressions.

Absolutely love every minute of working together and am happy he keeps coming back!

A few weeks I had my second shoot with Hallucinating light. I was greatly looking forward to this shoot, as we had such an awesome and memorable first shoot. Unfortunately my health issues which are largely under control decided to go haywire the day I worked with him - there was an onset of them on my shoot the day before, but they went away as I kept modelling - but with my shoot with Hallucinating light they did not go away, and much to my nightmares we had to wrap the shoot half hour early. I was so disappointed, because this was a booking I was particularly looking forward to.

That being said, what we managed to catch before my nerves took a steep turn, was absolutely heavenly. The shoot started off with laying on a blanket in the sun in the backyard, reading books and fanning myself with peonies, aswell as laying in the limbs of my apple tree wearing overalls and no top.

He is so easy to speak to and get along with, and when he shoots it brings out a very soft natural side of my posing, I just know there is magic happening when we work together.

I'm feeling great again after a few low weeks and hope to plan another shoot with him at some point in the future.

Would I recommend Hallucinating Light... absolutely. I had my first shoot with him after planning for about two years. He was one of the most enjoyable people I have met recently, not to mention worked with. We shot at my country farmhouse using natural light and mostly low but crisp exposure. He was very open to my every creative whim, and effortlessly captured the exact vision I had in every room. I genuinely adored every minute of socializing with and creating with this wonderful persona and hope we can work together in the future.
