The iconic megalithic monument in the Boyne Valley.

A few stats:

It was built during the 'Neolithic' period, more than 5600 years ago.

It is older than the pyramids of Giseh and Stonehenge.

The total weight of all material used in its construction is more than four times the displacement weight of Titanic !

It is thought that it was constructed using voluntary labour in a period of only thirty years.

The precise use for which it was built is not known with absolute certainly.

The cremated remains of hundreds of people were placed in the chambers, probably during a ceremony in which the ancestors were consulted.

The chamber is lined up with the winter solstice, marking the shortest day of the year.

During excavations and subsequent restoration in the 'sixties the aspect of the facade, as we now know, has not been correctly interpreted.

It looks spectacular, Donald Trump would call it a 'fake'. But the building itself is absolutely authentic.
