Also my first actual solo one-to-one shoot with Gary, which seems weird because we’ve worked together multiple times on events and even independent duo shoots... Plus geographically we’re pretty much neighbours; but isn’t it always the way it goes! You spend ‘X’ amount of time globe trotting and taking up shoots that might not be an every day opportunity and then when you take a moment to appreciate the creative talent/awesome people in your local area you’re like: “wtf, how are we not working together! 😂 Gosh I’d work with Gary every other week if I was home that often - he’s a legend of a person a bloomin’ EPIC photographer! Definitely need to get that next shoot underway much sooner in the future!

On this occasion; I’d made arrangements for the use of a gorgeous natural light apartment. I already knew that Gary was mega with utilising natural light in sublime ways as we’d done a conceptual duo shoot with Renaissance in a similar setting and achieved totally next-level images (and many of them too!) so it was already a dead-cert for a cracking shoot before we’d even taken the first picture. :D Even so: the range and style variations that we nailed this time were still mind blowing! From arty editorial to edgy glam and even abstract bodyscapes... Gary rocks any given conditions with a exemplary eye, be it sun changing by the minute or very specific/directional light sources - he sees it by the millisecond and every time the shutter is pressed... Another insane picture. He bears unquestionably professional-level technical abilities in his work, combined with a lot of passion in the creative process. The two aspects together make someone who could honestly make an interesting image out of literary ANY setting/scene. But when the teamwork flows on a rapport-level (which it 1000% did, obviously!) then you’re surfing off the buzz as you review the back of the camera each time and the bounce between you creeps up a level by the minute! It’s shoots like this that could be the whole explanation of “why have a career in creativity?” I mean, just look! The time completely evaporated before our eyes and before anybody knew it; a camera full of banging quality pictures! :D

So I think I’ve suitably confirmed how badass a photographer Gary is... Now I’d just like clarify how big a gentleman he is. Of course anyone could keep scrolling through his references and see it reiterated over and over by different models; so I’m going to bandwagon too! :P He has a heart of gold, shows solid respect and courtesy to the people he shoots with, is a great laugh/someone you could just chat away to all day! And justs delivers perfect etiquette when he works with others; welcoming and appreciating the input of the model, working at a relaxed/non-pressured pace but bestowing complete drive when in full swing of working... Soooooo many reasons to recommend Gary as highly as I do! :D I said it before, I’ll say it again: legend!!!!!

I really enjoyed working with Gary out in Cyprus in April! Hes a wonderful person, fun loving and very creative with his photography. I enjoyed socialising with him as well as shooting.. hes an excellent collaborator and the results he produces are beautiful!

As usual an absolutely fab time working with Gary!

He joined us on my 'Belles of Bedford' event at the weekend and as always was a great addition to the group. I'm surprised that we get any serious work done when I am with him and his photography wife Dave as honestly I spend majority of the shoot in fits of laughter haha!!

A total pleasure as always though and 100 million trillion percent recommended!

Another wonderful shoot with Gary!

He was shooting with the usual suspect - his photography wife Dave haha! They had booked me and my model twin Scarlot Rose for a half day at Barlow Studio and I'm so glad they did!

It's never a dull moment shooting with Dave and Gary together, the time absolutely whizzes past! So the 4 of us together not only created some unbelievably stunning images but my god did we have a laugh doing it too! I do believe there is even photographic evidence of me going rolling backwards off a posing box laughing haha!

The first part of the shoot we spent doing moody nudes and acro/headstands and it was going so well that we got carried away and didn't even notice us wasting nearly the entire shoot doing them haha! Sooooo many good images created though! And after a brew we managed to fit in some Hollywood glamour too :D

I would highly recommend Gary and if I don't see him before then I'm really looking forward to hosting him on my Belles of Bedford event in July :D

Scarlot Rose

I had the pleasure of working with Gary again this weekend on a duo shoot with Rachelle Summers. Gary was joined by his photography wife/partner in Crime Dave E and together we all had a wonderfully hilarious shoot! More time was spent falling about laughing than shooting but when we did take some images they were awesome! We did a variety of sculptural art nudes, acrobartics/handstands and through to a total change with some Hollywood glamour styling towards the end! The time absolutely flew by and both myself and Rachelle were left on a total high all evening long after such a wonderfully productive and fun shoot!

Very happy to recommend Gary and cant wait to work with him again soon!

Gary is so utterly awesome! I'm losing count of how many shoots we've done but each time we get even better images. This time, we went on an adventure in Manchester to shoot a beautiful new dress, then shot several different styles and outfits all around the studio. He's always up for my bonkers ideas, keeps me well supplied in coffee and snacks and i'd recommend him 1000000%. :D Thanks Gary and sorry for late reference!

I’ve known Gary now for a few years and have worked with him several times... I believe this is the seventh time we have worked together!!!

Gary came on my Cyprus Photographic Retreat and I knew he would be a pleasure to have along, but he really did just fit seemlessly with our small group.

Gary is a gem of a person, full of character, great sense of humour, , very easy to talk to, full of ideas, and tolerates being “bossed around” ;)

He’s very receptive to ideas and each shoot is a true collaboration as we work to get the very best images from each set... if it doesn’t work, we just move on to something else.

I’m really looking forward to sharing the images, as we produced some absolutely beautiful work (and unique to Gary also) over the course of the trip.

What more can i say? I really cannot recommend Gary highly enough.

Ive worked with Gary a few times before and he recently attended a Helmut Newton inspired event that I organised with male model Ali Moore.

Gary is so so awesome to shoot with, he is so relaxed, genuine and friendly. He is great to have in a group dynamic as he works so well with others.

He is such a good photographer and so good at this style, he made the images come alive and his suggestions were invaluable.

How time flys by! I had another fab shoot with Gary yesterday at his Rainbow studio. Organising a shoot with Gary is always super easy, comms before the shoot is always spot on and he had a great shoot plan including wonderful drawings :P

The shoot it's self was relaxed, flowed smoothly and I had a fun time just chilling with a friend for the day. The studio is well stocked with everything we needed and his amazing flower wall!

I can't wait for when I go up North again and get to shoot with Gary.

I very highly recommend him!

Adored this shoot with Gary , having worked with Scarlot Rose previously he has excellent pre comms, we had a royal chatter with Scarlett fox at her home studio before things got underway

Immediately putting me at ease with his unique charm he doesn’t leave much room for awkwardness! We went through a range of costume changes (essentially us undressing further and heading more and more upstairs!) we had fun every step of the shoot

He works amazing with natural light as well at selecting angles and great with direction but allowing myself and Scarlett the freedom to do our own thing also

The cherry on the cake was her breathtaking edits back beautiful shots every one. We have made tons of plans for follow up character shoots already

What a bloody day, I mean honestly what a day of total madness and giggles, and I gotta be honest I would expect nothing less from a day with Gary!

Pre comms were totally on point and everything was arranged months in advance, and Gary turned up early so we kick started the day over teas and coffees and a huge catch up was well over due since our last shoot from well over a year ago! Eek must see each other more :)

So Gary got in touch for a duo shoot with myself and Will Newton from my home, with a great story themed shoot which I just adored as it makes such s huge difference compared to our more generic shoots where we’re just asked to pull shapes and poses which as much as I like it was so good to show that Will and I can do other things and it gave us a great challenge to work with, and of course Gary was a star taking on any of our suggestions and making it a complete team effort. :D

Throughout the day we managed to work all throughout the house from the front door, study, stairs, landing, bedroom, and even worked the kitchen it for the end of the day on one of my super weird idea which both Will and Gary indulged haha Thank you! :P

It was such a marvellous day, Gary is the nicest and funniest man you can know let alone have the pleasure to work with, he always has excellent advice and takes the time to talk to you on a personal level so it’s not a strict environment of you just being a model and he a photographer, which I feel makes a big difference and you can see from the shots that kind of connection. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable day and I’m already seeing some mind blowing images which is always a bonus!

Super highly recommended as always!

Scarlot Rose

I have been lucky enough to shoot with Gary twice in the past few weeks, both totally different styles! The most recent being a "shooting Shibari" workshop run by myself and ChristianRed. The workshop was both practical and photography based; Christian and I taught a simplified single column tie using a reef knot and a decorative leg tie during the practical part and later on demonstrated both a floor based sequence and a suspension transition sequence for photographs. Gary was the ideal attendee! He threw himself into all aspects with a willingness to learn and a polite, fun and friendly attitude!

Previous to the workshop Gary mentioned his (very understandable) concerns with the genre but pursued with attending and really giving it his all. I think there are a lot of preconceptions and assumptions about rope based imagery but Gary was very considerate and acknowledged all the input I had on the subject. He also captured some stunning images that I think really tell a story and document certain aspects that are often overlooked. I am so glad that myself and Christian were able to share a very personal part of our friendship/dynamic that was accepted and welcomed in a very supportive environment and produced such wonderful images!

Highly recommend working with Gary if you get the opportunity, an absolute top bloke and I hope I get to work with him more myself!

Gary attended a recent 'shooting shibari' workshops I ran with Scarlot Rose. The workshop consisted of learning to tie a couple of floor ties followed by a couple of portfolio building segment of Scarlot and I tying together.

He threw himself into both elements - by the end of the practical class he'd understood the ties well and was reproducing them smoothly. Throughout the practical element he was incredibly respectful of myself, Scarlot, and the other photographers taking the class. He engaged with the subject matter, asked thoughtful questions and collaborated well with Scarlot and myself.

The images he took are fabulous (I was buzzing after I saw them). You can see how well he engaged with the subject matter as the images capture the intensity, connection and mood of the day.

Hopefully, we'll have the opportunity to work together again.

I had a great shoot with Gary this week, I had (perhaps crazily) decided it might be fun to push the boundaries of a confined space and Gary was equally crazy enough to take on the challenge!

Having worked with Gary before, I knew it would be a fun day and I was not disappointed, I think it's important to point out that i've been massively put off doing 'hotel shoots' in the past due to being made to feel uncomfortable in that situation/location by previous "photographers" but Gary was truly professional throughout (as I had expected he would be!) He was very respectful of my boundaries and space in such a confined area! He also brought along plenty of lighting/camera kit that was very well thought out for the location. Aside from that more serious point we had such a laugh, came up with crazy ideas and the shoot was great fun with a surprising amount of variety!

Thanks for a great day and I look forward to seeing more results and shooting together in future!

I recently hosted a duo model day with Will Newton and was delighted when Gary decided to join the madness! His pre-comms were great and I was already looking forward to the shoot before we met. Straight away he was chatty and friendly, had some ideas of his own but was happy to let my crazy ideas flow and captured so many awesome shots!

Gary new exactly what to do with his lighting to make the most of Will's toned physique and we changed through a few sets and locations in the studio, all of us checking the camera after a few shots to really nail each pose - it was such a pleasure to work with Gary and felt like such a team collaborative effort the time flew by and I loved every second!

Very highly recommend Gary to other models, he is friendly, polite, respectful and brings a great creative energy to the shoot too! I'm still buzzing!
