Identity, consciousness, dreams and folk tales are the elements I explore in my photography.

I am influenced by the legend of Pygmalion and the various forms the story takes in art and film, the Pre-Raphaelite art movement, the vibrant theatricality of The Singing Ringing Tree, the stark photography of films such as Ida and The Juniper Tree.

I am fascinated by the the alienation a person can feel in society and also in their own skin, by lycanthropy and animal spirit guides.

My work might not show any of these things, for I am unable to visualise an idea and realise it as proposed. Instead, I find an outfit or fashion a cardboard prop and let a model loose with it, then try to capture images which express feelings I can't easily define.

My photographs might not communicate those things to anyone but me, I really don't know, but if I've proposed a shoot to you, it's because I see a quality in the way you present yourself which I believe will help me create images which lead me to some form of self realisation. 

I typically book one photoshoot a year. The snaps below are from the past five years.
