The Rosette Nebula in the constellation Monoceros

The Rosette Nebula is around 5000 lightyears distant and approximately 130 lightyears across. The radiation from the hot blue-white stars of the open cluster NGC 2244 at the centre, has hollowed out the nebula.
These images of the centre of the Rosette are the result of 6h of narrowband data capture, over three evenings in February 2022. This consisted of 2h of data capture through Hydrogen-alpha, Oxygen-III and Sulphur-II filters, respectively.
The result is four very different images, with different mapping of the narrowbands to RGB channels. The image on the top left is the most realistic, with Ha mapped to red. The image at bottom left uses a Hubble palette, with Ha mapped to green.
