The Herero tribe were persecuted almost to extinction early in the last century and those remaining moved from Namibia to Botswana only returning in the 1990s. They are expert with herds of cattle .
The women are noted for their colourful clothes and extraordinary headwear . Those we talked to were very engaging warm and welcoming .
