An elephant

I encountered this elephant outside The Majestic Indian restaurant in South Street, Braintree during my night photography experiments. What I find unbelievable is how much detail the sensor is able to pull out of the darkness. The elephant to the naked eye was in complete silhouette against the house in the background and I had to take several and focus by guesswork. Shot with Nikon Df at ISO 12800, 1/20 sec at F2 with an old Nippon Kogaku Nikkor-O 35mm F2 lens, this lens still performs well, it is at least 50 years old.
