Fantastic last minute photoshoot with Richard. All pre communications were great, very well prepared and instructions for venue and parking were clear and organised.

We shot lingerie and topless. Richard was great with communication on the shoot, respectful and professional as well as friendly and chatty.

It was great working with Richard today, 100% recommended 😊

PGD Modelling and Photography Studios

This was Richards first time here at PGD. He arrived nice and early so that he could make sure he knew where he was going, and have a quick peek at what was available before shooting.

After a quick chat and a quick briefing on the triggers he seemed to be happy with how I had set things up for him. I then carried on with my day, whilst Richard and Keira (again first time at the studio) worked away through the day. I found him polite, knew what he was doing in the studio, and was able to carry on with his work without much input from myself as the studio manager. Along with having a fantastic rapport with his model.

I enjoyed having Richard here, and I look forward to welcoming him back in the coming weeks (he has booked already). As Richard familiarises himself with the studio here I am sure he will be back time and time again and soon be creating his own unique set ups here at PGD. It was really nice to have someone who knew what they wanted and how to achieve it.

A recommended photographer to work with.

It’s been a while since we first shot so as always I was nervous! However I had absolutely no reason to be . Richard was very understanding and made me feel completely at ease. We got some good shots even the ones where he made me laugh (which I don’t usually do for photos) communication was great and it was a great shoot. Thank you Richard I look forward to next time!

I worked with Richard on my studio day at the fantastic £Saracen House Studio£ whilst I was in the area and had such a fantastic, creative photoshoot! Richard was very kind to book two hours of my studio day which absolutely flew by!

It was our first time working together, so I am always a little nervous but from first meeting Richard he was so kind, professional and respectful to work with, one of lifes gents!

He was very kind to share a moodboard of ideas for the shoot and arrived with beautiful necklaces which were a pleasure to wear. Richard gave great direction and we had a super creative couple of hours explorjng the studio and boudoir set. I absolutely loved Richards company and would love to work together again! I really look forward to the uploads and highly recommended to all.

Thankyou for a lovely day! :) Helen x

It is consistently a joy getting to shoot with Richard - we have worked together more times than I can actually recall and have a FANTABULOUS working relationship now! 😊 Due to the pandemic we hadn't actually managed to do much at all for a long time (apart from a little remote shoot of course which was nice!) So when I contacted Richard with some circumstantial availability at a super venue that I knew he would love (Two Wei Location House) and he agreed that it would be great to catch up in-person again... Needless to say I was over the moon! We had much catching up to do. 🤩

When we shoot, we break straight into this hard to describe like-mindedness with our rapport. I feel that I have got to a stage where I know exactly where we will go with the ideas at any given location, or the vibe it is we are looking for in a set. Each one being like a story in a way; Richard likes to really think about how he's going to go about catching a whole flurry of emotive feeling in a single frozen moment - but also how that shot further fits into a series or "set" as it were. He's got a splendid creative eye in what he does, and his ability to describe and direct the vision in his head is just astonishing - something that's really quite hard to do if you're not used to doing it, or don't simply *have it* like Richard does. 😃 That's why I knew, even before this latest shoot begun, that we would have the best time at Two Wei because the various rooms, the corridors and even the grounds which we didn't get chance to explore this time (watch this space!👀) were just right up our street!

We kept this simple, arty and casual for our introductory shoot at Two Wei - of course the natural light is a big pull of the place so we made a bee-line for areas which collected the light beautifully and enabled us to work with lush wrap-around available light avoiding introducing any flash at this stage. Richard has always been really good at balancing and working with the light in a location; he routinely explores what an environment offers and will try to incorporate it as much as possible into the pictures to grasp a hold of the genuine mood that a place is giving, but then he has a fine skill for adding fill when required just to punch a little more back in. This time however it wasn't needed - instead he just bossed the daylight and rocked the settings like magic to get me well lit in camera, but not lose any nice detail (like the greenery out the windows for example). Our creative thirst took us through several of the rooms, jumping on opportunities when we saw them! These included the famous bathtub, the equally famous reflective shower, arches and doorways galore. Richard always on the look out for those leading avenues and frames to inject artsy punch into the composition! 😊 He also came super prepared, even for a last minute shoot, and brought some super cute outfits for us to work with. Anyone who knows Richard will know that he likes to prep shoots meticulously and will engage in helpful pre-shoot comms with the model, sending shoot plans etc. to ensure the key ideas get nailed in as productive use of the time as possible... This time however it was different because it all came together so quickly! So we did a little more improvising that normal - but I tell you what, still a terrific shoot nonetheless with beautiful results! 👌

We had a lot of chatting to do having not seen each other for some time, so I don't think we spent more than a minute or two actually quiet when there may have been a moment of concentration on a shot or something. 😆 Richard is a very well-mannered and good natured person, the social element of our shoots is definitely a big plus! His professional approach and good etiquette makes him highly recommendable from a shoot perspective, you just need to look back at my past references to him and I've always said the same before. 🙂 He's very careful to ensure the model is always in a state of comfort with everything that you shoot - the models levels and limits are respected at all times with Richard. He's one of the awesome ones - has my compliments and reassurance to other models any day of the week!

The next shoot (and there will always be a next shoot!) is always something to be very highly excited about! 😀

Thank you once again Richard!

I’ve worked with Richard sooooo many times in person - so to have him get in touch and express an interest in trying out remote shooting was just the best. :D It was his first time working remotely: so we booked in a short (almost experimental) shoot so Richard could get to grips with the system and possibilities - he’s quite often the “fully involved” creative who loves getting stuck in with arranging the lights/scene and so forth. Actually this time we managed to work using literally just natural and ambient light which lended itself very well to the usual styles that we would actually shoot together. :D

Richard is very savvy when it comes to understanding light/allowing for light increase and decrease so of course he made it look very easy working with what was available coming through the windows and room lights. :P Even though we weren’t in the same room - I still felt that we were able to get a very high level of productivity going. Richard also has a very good eye for the image/pose he’s trying to capture: and even virtually he was getting totally in the swing of giving me feedback as we shot and laying out a brief for the sets we did. Even Tigger my little cat got involved and Richard was conscious of the light-fall on the fur baby as well to create a shot where everything worked in the picture (as much as Tigger would have been very happy for the shoot to be all about him haha!) But that’s just the kind of photographer that Richard is: and be it working with a model in-person or tethered/remotely like our most recent shoot... He takes the whole scene/pose/light and other fine details into account to create the mood and atmosphere in his pictures. :) I believe there is a huge amount of potential for us to work again on some of the classic concepts we’ve covered before as it is a different way of working together for sure - but there’s certainly more creative scope than I could ever have imagined myself a few months back. I can see a lot of scope for developing on the like-minded rapports I have with someone like Richard. :D

As always - great comms, great organisation and being well prepared on his end (even though it wasn’t something he had done before!) Richard is a highly respectful, well-mannered and just generally: fun person to team up with. :) We never fail to have a have - and nothing at all was different about this time either.

So it’s yet another recommendation from me - this time from a remote perspective! :D

Thank you so much Richard!

It's a blast working with Richard - every single time! :D So when he messaged to say that his new place was on the cards for a potential next shoot (we've had loads!) I was over the moon - and even more so that our dates just happened o match up for a time when I was touring through the area!

As usual - Richards communications were perfect: super quick and covered everything. If we ever have something specific to work on then he will list all the essentials for me to be as well-prepped as possible with outfits etc. We had a whole set of new exciting locations to shoot this time around his place so he gave me the full run down of possibilities to prep from my end, and also just generally get to feel buzzing about because we had some awesome scope lined up! That said - even if we do something last minute and don't have time to run through a full shoot plan these days, we get straight to it and rock some awesome stuff. :) It's pretty much automatic now haha!

When I arrived on the day and Richard first gave me the "grand tour" it didn't take long for the inspiration to build up and start dancing around my head! I mean for one thing - the light was simply outta this world! The first thought that came to my head was "damn! We almost need two days!" :P Alas; we managed our shooting time very prolifically/selectively indeed and isolated a number of sets that produced OUTSTANDING results. :) At one stage I was leaning out of what could only be described as a castle window/platform when you see the shots... Then I was doing lifestyle poses next to the big log burner (very nice straight after an outdoors set haha!) before ravishing around in the dark and charismatic cellar (some crazy number of centuries old!) And then everything in-between naturally! :D But it just gives you an idea of how occupied we were: Richard is a brilliant photographer too with a stupendous eye for the angle/light and mood of the shot so we were smashing these at an impressive rate before moving onto the next idea.

No challenge is ever too big, where there's a will there's a way and Richard puts a colossal degree of drive and enthusiasm into his work. :) It's why it's a joy to work with him time and time again.

Same as the many occasions prior to our latest shoot - Richard is a gem by nature, so professionally courteous with his etiquette and someone that I have felt very comfortable working with over the years on many a project. He welcomed me with the loveliest hospitality with tea and breaks where needed - space to change etc. And we pretty much chatted the WHOLE way through as we worked, which is pretty much the standard! :D

Always guaranteed to be a grand shoot - thank you yet again for another Richard!

Highly recommended!

Richard posted a last minute casting, and i responded. The magic happened there! He was precise in his messages so we knew what the plan was and he’d set up a makeshift studio. Which was ace.

We got along great, I would highly recommend and hope to work together again :)

I shot with Richard last Monday in a luxury apartment near Thirsk. He have a great ideas and is lovely to work with. Communication before shoot was great. He is really professional, well organized and fun :) He not only collected me from train station and dropped me off after, but even He carried my suitcase up and down the stairs to the train to make sure I won't miss it. Suitcase was quite heavy and train was just about to departure so it was super kind of him. Without his help I would have to wait for a next train probably.

Thank you ever so much :)

Shooting with Richard always promises to be mountains of fun! :D We’ve done goodness knows how many shoots together now in different locations - I mean this year alone we managed to fit a good few in; still rolling off of concepts that we’ve had bountiful success with in the past, but routinely coming up with new ideas to throw in the mix as well. :)

This shoot was epic - and when you end a shoot literally dancing around (for the actual effect) like a bouncing lunatic... You’re always going to be coming away still buzzing and need a good few cups of tea to get it out of your system as you wind-down. :D Now you’re probably thinking: “what on Earth have they been shooting??” Well from the very first shoot that Richard and I did, we’ve covered a lot of ground in styles... Sometimes it depends on the light we have, sometimes the location and outfits too. So we’ve covered arty/elegant, bodyscapey/sculptural, lifestyle/fashion through to cheeky glam, light fetish and story-telling - we’ve got an amazing rapport now so often one of us will suggest an idea or a look and then it usually grows into a whole set of sets of that makes sense! :D Hence the dancing for effect! I often shoot both stills and video with Richard in the concepts we cover as it gives a nice different take on each look/scene. And Richard has got it off to a tee with having a great set up making good use of the space that we may be using on a specific shoot. This time we shot at the lovely big apartment again in North Yorkshire which is always great for space - Richard knows the place like the back of his hand and he will always be able to suggest epic shooting spots and ideas around the place. Of course always working to the comfort levels of any model that he just so happens to be working with at the time. :) But we utterly nailed it as usual: the shoots pretty much always guarantee a big “high-five” at the end now because the bounce and working relationship just gets straight to work. From getting the lighting right/subsidising the lack of natural light if it’s getting dark or a dull day to setting the scene with a photographic eye of perfection! I never underestimate just how much a photographer must deal with from their side, and Richard as a creative is the prime example of when the commitment from the other side of the camera truly needs applauding. :) He really does love his photography which makes him a joy to work with every time, with the next session always being something to look forward to. Going through the shots at the end is the icing on the cake when you see how that teamwork has come together. Because here is a gent who really does value the input of the models he shoots as well... it’s ALWAYS a two-way street.

So I think it’s safe to say that I one million percent recommend Richard to other models. :) He’s a respectful and lovely person who is always highly conscious of everyone feeling at ease and happy. Good-natured is his very demeanour and a good laugh is always on the cards which just brightens the sessions up even more. Richard is endlessly accommodating, courteous in every way and just an all-round fabulous dude to work with really! :P I know I’m at risk of repeating a lot of what I’ve mentioned before... But it’s all true! Every word!

Thank you so much once more Richard!

I've had so many positively-fuelled and productive shoots with Richard over the years that I have genuinely lost count! Each one has always had something a little different, yet we also get inspired to recreate ideas that have worked previously in various ways too.

So When Richard got in touch to chat about fixing something up during a scheduled visit up to Leeds that he had planned - I was of course utterly buzzing at the prospect of getting another shoot under our belt, and even though last minute: it promised to have some epic yield in images produced. :D Richard is typically very organised well in advance of his shoots with shoot plans and ideas all listed, but even short notice shoots that he books have the same superb communications and pristine prep to ensure they flow well so this makes planning shoots with him a complete breath of fresh air every time.

On the day in question, we were fortunate to have an absolutely lush apartment suite that we were able to work from which offered countless scope to provide inspiration and options for our shoot. Richard always does organise amazing places to shoot from mind you and we've routinely been spoilt in some of the places that we have used as shooting locations over the years. So we cracked on and worked through an awesome range of concepts: from cute glamour looks, lifestyle sets, arty video work and even a gorgeous bubble bath theme in the amaaaaaazing bath within the apartment! :D Yes, it's pretty safe to say that Richard's camera had many fabulous images in it at the end of the shoot - but that's just standard practice these days. :P He's a genuinely creative photographer who bears a great vision and understanding of light... Especially when it comes to creating setups in non-studio environments where you have the challenge of setting the scene that you want for the picture, avoiding distractions and getting the light right (whether natural, artificial or a mix of both!) There is a lot to think about really for these kind of shoots, which is what makes them so rewarding but it also takes a lot of technical and mental thinking from the photographer to nail it. Richard does this effortlessly and literally creates beautiful (natural looking) lighting effects where needed, or creating contrast for added drama/mood. He always shows a lot of patience and care to get the conditions just right and has a gigantic amount of artistic appreciation for his photography, which really shows when you're working together. :) Also with video - a total next-level way of working compared to stills with it's own set of tests for those involved. He is certainly good at the work he does, and a complete and utter to pleasure to work with every time as a result. :) I cannot stress enough how fun it is going through the back of the camera at the end of the shoot/during a break and seeing the fruits of our efforts as a team - and our shoots are certainly always teamwork orientated!

Also worth noting, is Richards professionalism on shoots. He is a gentleman through-and-through, so polite and respectful throughout - always courteous of a models levels and comfort with every aspect of a shoot. We obviously get on tremendously well and now have an incredible rapport; but Richard just has sublime etiquette as standard anyway and is always aiming for a positive shoot where everyone is happy and content at the shoot material and the workflow. The atmosphere is always a fabulous one when we work together too - NO end of chatting and catch-ups, tea breaks (still haven't convinced him that my swamp water is the way forward with choice of beverages mind you! :')) The shoots are routinely relaxed non-pressed and just all-round; a highly epic and creative session each and every time!

Richard is a photographer that I would 100% confidently recommend. He's a lovely person, passionate about his photography and has great artistic skills too. So many boxes positively ticked! :)

Thank you yet again Richard!

I had a shot with Rich at a lovely appartment/hotel.

He was kind, punctual, easygoing and kept a proffesional attitude. He even let us stop in the shop before the shoot so, that I had some lunch which was very kind of him. I enjoyed working with him.

I brought a lovely selection of underwear to the shoot and we shot various styles.

Thank you for a fun shoot.

OMG!!! Working with Richard is always an utter delight anyway: especially having two amazing shoots in quite a short space of time after not doing anything for quite a while... But the conditions that we were gifted with this time are the makings of photographic perfection! 24carat gold sunset light... bursts of gentle diffused sunshine (natural softbox), incredible yield with our controlled light ideas too - and of course the usual top-class surroundings of the sublime Sutton Hall. :D

I’ve worked with Richard often multiple years running at this gorgeous venue that has access to at art times of the year. We were actually trying to work out just how many shoots we had done all-in-all (it’s a lot!) but I think we gave up. :P But it is always wonderful to get back to Sutton all and work with Richard where you have; not only the incredible light of inside the apartment and ideal decor/furniture to execute a range of stylish concepts (and even studio-style stuff with the high ceilings and epic space) but also the grounds which offer no end of picturesque backgrounds for artistic and classy shots galore! Richard being as versatile a photographer he is also has such excellent ideas and visions that he works into the brief: his typical routine being to plan with precision making it so easy for the models to know what to bring and be as well-organised as they can possibly be... But I’m actual fact, we’ve also had shoots (or at least parts of shoots) where we’ve “winged it” slightly too! Whether the plan to shoot was quite last-minute or we had to rearrange things because the sun/weather didn’t quite play up to hopes - the results we’ve had working together are consistently awesome. Not to mention a lot of fun to execute on a teamwork level. :D Richard always values the input of the models and their integral part in making the shots work from a visual level (be it stills or video - we do both, but Richard will also cater 100% to what each model is comfortable with). So what is presented in the back of the camera at the end of these wicked shoots is always something really beautiful - that goes without saying. :) You’re looking at the page of a photographer who puts forward a MASSIVE amount of artistic care and patience into his work to always achieve the best possible outcome.

Which leads me onto Richards technical geniusness. :D Across the many shoots we’ve done together, we’ve probably explored every possible different lighting source imaginable! All of which give a slightly different effect (be it daylight, ambient [room light], continuous artificial or continuous flash). So that’s a lot of creative adaptation for the photographer to take on in order to successfully create mood, atmosphere or a desired finish to good quality model pictures/video footage! Nevertheless; he works with total artistic focus and determination to get the conditions just right and probably every time we have worked together we’ve nailed outstanding pictures from a setup that would otherwise seem unconventional/too much hassle. It’s this area of modelling that I personally rank so highly on what’s not only fun/pushing you creatively to do, but also mega rewarding! And Richard is just always on-point with working the angles to within a millimetre of perfection and persevering with the light (which sometimes does its own thing in the case of daylight!) He genuinely has enormous levels of positive drive in his work and it really shines!

From a professionalism/etiquette perspective: Richard ticks every box and I can only recommend him (for the umpteenth time!) very highly to other models as a safe and amazing gentleman to work with in a shoot environment. He has always moved mountains to make me feel very comfortable on shoots: we have breaks as and when we want/if needed, he’s such a relaxed and easy-going person who is enthused but puts no pressure on the model and would rather they were happy and content with the pace. He ALWAYS shoots to the comfort zones of the models; so levels in accordance to what the model has specified, and although Richard and I have shot video work as well as stills with our styles; he will only do so with models who are happy and everything is always discussed with the best levels of respect. Richard sometimes casts for shoots at Sutton Hall and though I will always try to get back to models promptly wanting personal recommendations/references: in the case that I cannot (away from my computer etc.) then I can honestly say that I have nothing but good words to say about Richard and always look forward to working with him again myself. :) All shoots with him have been with the best in professionalism; and they’re always a laugh (plenty of chatter/good rapport vibes going on).

Thank you Richard!

I was extremely pleased to have been chosen to work with Richard in North Yorkshire - on location within the grounds of a beautiful country house.

To begin with we shot some natural light images indoors before Richard suggested outdoors where we shot a range of different styles and levels.

Richard was at all times respectful, polite and friendly. I found it easy to work with him and he explained from the start what images he was trying to achieve. Hopefully we captured them just right.

I would recommend Richard to any model. It was a real pleasure to work with him and I certainly hope to shoot with him again in the future.
