I am so happy for one reason …… Covid has stopped the well oiled machine that has professional dancers from performing on stage in the West End Royal Albert Hall and arenas around the world.

I know this is a selfish reason for Applauding Covid but today this reason came to fruition.

The dancers that were in the West End Royal Albert Hall another arenas have had to find other avenues of income and I had the amazing pleasure of experiencing two of the most incredible dancers at the top of their game today at a photo shoot at Rawpics Studios in Illminster.

I started to shoot models with ballerina shoes three years ago and was fortunate enough to be bought a ticket to go and see the nutcracker ballet in London, from this moment in time although models with ballet shoes do an amazing job for most photographers I had to inspire myself to create images with ballerinas.

I have longed for many years to work with ballerinas and I’ve had the joy recently of working with one incredible ballerina which I never ever thought I would be able to work with another, I saw there was an opportunity to work with David and Ella and I pounced on this, my thoughts were never wrong as today they delivered a faultless experience.

We both worked together showing each other our talents from capturing the images from myself to both of them changing the captured image to create perfection. If I put my camera down today and never picked it up again I know I am one of the luckiest photographers alive.

Thank you for the most amazing experience today from you both and if any photographer needs any recommendations please put them on my way you were both incredible, I would highly recommend you to any other photographer that wants to shoot dance ballet and thank you so much for a wonderful day.

I had my first shoot with David on his Pas de Deux studio event, together with his partner Ella Slingsby, at Rawpics Studio.

David was brilliant to work with. He readily understood the style of images that I wanted to shoot and posed superbly. He has a great range and experience of dance poses to draw on.

He was very patient and helpful in working to help me get the timing of movement shots at the right critical moment. From the back of camera images, he immediately recognised any adjustments to the pose that could improve the image.

David’s professional approach, his attention to detail and friendly personality made the shoot fly by and I will certainly be looking to work with him and Ella again.

The posing that David did with Ella in the second part of the shoot was simply stunning. They work so amazingly well together. Thank you both.

I had an excellent Pas-de-Deux photoshoot with David and Ella as part of a studio day at the excellent Rawpics Studio.

This was the second time I had the pleasure of working with David, the first being a street dance photoshoot with myself and Rod from Rawpics. Having an opportunity to work with two highly professional dancers was a real pleasure and together we produced some excellent contemporary ballet-style images.

I like to shoot with the camera tethered to a computer as part of the collaborative process so that each image, or set of images, can be reviewed with the dancers as the shoot progresses. Working in this way David and Ella were very much involved in the creative process which made the whole photoshoot and the images we produced even better.

David and Ella are both a delight to work with. They are not only highly skilled, very professional, and knowledgeable dancers but bring that expertise to bear in the making of images by working with the photographer and not simply performing for the camera.

It goes without saying that as a couple and individually David and Ella are very highly recommended.

I'd shared a mood board with David beforehand so he had an idea of what I was looking for. David was able to hit the poses first time and repeat them as I tried to capture it. Incredible to watch him in action.

3 Day Pas De Deux

What an amazing dancer , David and Ella his partner, had been discussing running a Pas De Deux at the studio for a very long time with me, so there was a great deal of communication between all 3 of us.

The communication was 100 % David had created the digital flyer , to promote the event and contacted many of the photographers he had worked with before, to help sell the days.

To get a sell out like this, speaks for its self David & Ella are in high demand and it is a total pleasure to be part of it.

They are both total professionals and are just the nicest people you could ever meet. They will offer advice to the photographers on how they can perform a certain move, but are also willing to try some poses that the photographer has got in mind along with using any props the photographer brings

David is an amazing dancer showing true profession at all times, he will work endlessly to ensure the photographers go away with truly amazing images.

David has made my studio a place to be recognised as a Studio to shoot Dancers and for this I am truly grateful.

It is without hesitation I can recommend David 100%

Booked David as part of his studio day with Rawpics for my friends from the Honiton Camera club. Accomplished photographers but new to studio work.

David was amazingly patient, going through potential poses, outfit changes and repeating poses till they got the timing right.

Fantastic to watch as he dance poses executed perfectly multiple times, despite us being the last slot of the day.

All three were blown away with the images they caught and now wonderful David was.

If you want to shoot dance inspired shots then I highly recommend David, you can't fail to get good results.

My recent photo shoot with David went extremely well. Despite having a very full day with other photographers, David gave me individual attention and we soon established a good working relationship. David is a true professional ands attention to detail is second to none. He also understood what I was hoping to gain from the shoot and offered suggestions on outfits as as well as poses. His feedback on my images was also very useful. I hope that we can work together on another occasion and I would recommend him to you for your own photo shoots.

Rawpics Studio

I had a fantastic day shooting with David ,on a street style ballet shoot.

His pre shoot comms were perfect, we had discussed the ideas that I had and David was very keen to get the best from my ideas and the day.

He arrived in plenty of time on the day of the shoot although the weather was atrocious, it did not phase him at all. I had done some location scouting before the shoot, so we knew exactly what we were doing on the day. As soon as we got to the first location David got straight into it.

Just a few warm up stretches and BOOM we were shooting ballet street photography. David would often say I can do better than the last shot can we shoot it again, getting even higher kicks and perfect posture, giving me amazing shots.

David would suggest to me of what he felt would be a good dance position for a particular area we were shooting in, which showed to me he fully got the idea of the area and my crazy ideas, to get the best from the day.

The rain continued to fall all day, but he just kept dancing and dancing until our time was up on the day.

It is without any hesitation at all, that I highly recommend David, his personality and professional manner is outstanding and he was such a pleasure to work with. I know I will be working with David for a long time to come, he is just 100%
