Things may seem fairly calm in this photo of Aubrey during my first photographic expedition to Iceland in 2013, but things may not always be how they seem. That day in July, on this rocky beach in western Iceland, it was bloody freezing (or so it felt!). In fact, the local people told us that it was the coldest summer in memory that year, which is not exactly what one wants when trying to photograph nudes in nature. In fact, I had two models with me, but I only got one roll of film of them together. This is because each could only model for one roll of ten photos at a time before having to spend considerable time trying to warm up, so I decided to photograph them separately to maximize the number of photos I got. So, considering the elements at play here - not just the cold, but the wind, too - I think Aubrey did a great job.
