PORTFOLIO ALGARVE offers Location Hire and Accommodation for Photographers and Models in a beautiful rustic and very private location in the Algarve Countryside.

PORTFOLIO ALGARVE'S 'Casa Branca' is the home and studio of MICHAEL WHITE an established and widely published professional photographer. (See his profile on PP)

Michael can create tailor made photography breaks or working trips for amateur and professional photographers who are looking for a variety of locations to work in.

Photographers can bring their own models - or we can recommend and organize UK and European models for photographers to work with.

THE LOCATION.

The PORFOLIO ALGARVE' location is at a beautiful rustic house on a hilltop in Querenca - a small village in the Barrocal Hills to the North of Loule.

Loule is about 30 minutes from Faro Airport.

With virtually guaranteed sunshine for most of the year, the location offers photographers the chance to photograph the beautiful Algarve Countryside, and it's famous beaches. It's the perfect location for model photography.

Praia marinha [link removed] Carvoeiro was recently voted Europe's best beach - and it's only 30 minutes drive from PORTFOLIO ALGARVE.

A UNIQUE AND SECLUDED SETTING.

PORTFOLIO ALGARVE'S 'Casa Branca is a Portuguese old style house that offers opportunities for both indoor and outdoor photography. There are 3 bedrooms and a large lounge with great natural light through large french windows. The house also features a 'farmhouse' style kitchen, a very large terrace and dining area for out door dining, and spectacular views across hills, meadows and woods of almond and olive trees. The house has an attractive front terrace with orange trees, large French style 'feature' shutters on the front of the house, and terraced established gardens with a beautiful pool.

The sunset scenes from the terrace are legendary!

Within a short drive, there are dis-used factory buildings, old farm-houses, mountain streams and meadows, and typical Portuguese streets and alleyways to shoot in. The beautiful beaches and coves that make the Algarve so famous are only a 30 minute drive away.

ACCOMMODATION.

2 Rooms are available at the house.

We can accommodate 1 or 2 models in their own room

Photographers can share a room or have their own room as required.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS.

There is separate accommodation at the beautiful Monte dos Avos Guest House, which is within walking distance,

This Algarvian country house offers apartment style rooms at only 50.00 EUROS per room per night.

The views are spectacular from this quiet retreat, and there are beautiful gardens and a pool to enjoy when you're not shooting!

We also have apartments available at an Algarvian cottage on the village square in Querenca.

The village square with its bar and the fantastic Restaurant Querenca is literally a 5 minute walk from our location!

HELP IS AT HAND.

The villa is the home and work place of Photographer Michael White. Michael is on hand to make suggestions  - or take you to a variety of locations.

Michael can provide help, assistance and advice on photography if required.

Michael also likes to cook for his guests!

MODELS AND MAKE UP.

Photographers can bring their own models, or - Michael will recommend some fantastic models that he has worked with from the UK and Europe. There are also some very good Portuguese models that can be available by prior arrangement.

If guests require a make up artist, there are some good MU/A's locally and some extremely talented professional make up artists and stylists from the UK that have previously worked with Michael.

EQUIPMENT.

There are constant lights available on site, and a range of reflectors.

We work with a local photo equipment hire company offering a wide range of professional equipment including CANON, PHASEONE, LEAF, PROFOTO, MANFROTTO, and AVENGER equipment.

Michael specializes in natural light photography and is happy to provide advice and help on how to make this work for you - particularly using the beautiful light that we have in the Algarve.

PROPS AND WARDROBE.

There is an extensive wardrobe of clothes and accessories at the location.

RATES.

Rates are £60.00 per person per night for photographers bringing their own model. (£120.00 per night for 1 photographer and 1 model)

This includes room, breakfast and the use of the location exterior and interior for shooting.

The rate to use the location without accommodation is £95.00 per day

If a model is already staying at Portfolio Algarve or is 'on tour' the rate for photographer's staying at the Villa is £120.00 per night. This includes the use of the villa exterior and interior for shooting and the use of our extensive range of clothes and prop's. (Lights and reflectors + stands are also available).

Transfers from Faro Airport to the house and return are £20.00 each way.

Car hire at very reasonable rates can be arranged. Please message Michael for a quote.

Michael will provide guidance and transport to locations etc.
