I dont really know what to say . The guy is a genius and he knows it haha! He is always fun and interesting and has accomplished so much in his time. I find it difficult to pose sometimes because hell mention something and ill be off on a train of thought and completely forgot what i was doing . Were going to get something good one day , really good , i can feel it and im going to be proud to have shot with him and it will likely be my best shot , because Barry likes the best lol !!

We have a studio shoot booked and i am too excited . We shall see what happens ..

My Little Goth

Had a fun first shoot with Barry last Saturday and my word what a fantastic shoot it was! Definitely one of the most fun shoots I've ever had and we got some awesome shots that's for sure.

He's full of unique and quirky ideas and it was nice to try new things and have a bit of fun!

Highly recommend him if you are looking to try something a bit different and have a blast. Can't wait to shoot again 😊

After months of trying to arrange, I finally had the pleasure of shooting with Barry at Penguin Studios in Thame. Barry is so much fun to work with, we bounced off each other and spent 4hrs creating some fun, wacky, creative images. The time went far too quickly! Barry came prepared with a moon board of images and ideas which helped me to understand what types of images he would like to achieve. Then I went into full crazy posing mode and enjoyed every second in front of the camera with him. Highly recommended! X

What a fantastic shoot!

I was honoured to have worked with the ever so lovely Barry today whilst on my studio day at Paul’s Studio reading.

I must admit I was a little nervous today because one of the themes was “Christine Keeler” inspired and I wasn’t sure I would fit the bill but I think we got some cracking shots.

Barry was a breath of fresh air today, you wouldn’t think we just met, it was like shooting with one of my pals from London! Haha.

I had a blast, such a fun packed shoot!

Full of laughter, giggles & chocolate crispies :) perfect afternoon if you ask me!

Thank you so much Barry! Hopefully our paths will cross again sometime.

Yeyyyyy….. we finally got to shoot!! Myself and Barry had planned on a few occasions to work together but on one attempt his car failed on him, then Covid struck then I decided to damage my foot but yesterday…… it all went swimmingly!! I had booked to spend the day working alongside Barry partly on location with his amazing lotus (I was so chuffed he picked me for this) on a Britt Eckland inspired shoot. Huge ✔️ it was fantastic and I think between us we nailed the shots! Then over to penguin studios for several hours of shooting with guidance from Chris Conway too. The 3 of us had an absolute blast covering many looks and I loved listening to his amazing past and all the achievements he’s done along the way. It was so lovely to have such a productive and laid back shoot with laughs throughout (and a couple of silly duo selfies!!) very much looking forward to the next time we can work together. Barry was kind, courteous and professional throughout and a dream to work alongside!! Here’s to the next!! 🙌

As usual , a cracking shoot arranged with Barry @paulstudio in reading. Time just flew by , as usual but i guess because we were testing out my makeup artist skills haha! .. cant say i have a steady hand but was impressed with the lighting effects in the studio . Barry is an outstanding person with a brilliant mind (im sure iv said that before), born with a designers eye ..he creates interesting and alternative images.

Shoots are always fun and unusual , Barry always brings lunch because hes a sweetheart ! and cant say iv had a bad shoot with him yet .

Will look forward to more adventurous shoots with him and i absolutely recommend him as fun and safe to other models .

Never give up on shoot prospects - because you never know when that absolutely monster-racing-looney shoot with extra doses of jolly wacky creative madness might just come together! 😄 Barry and I have been talking about working together for longer than I can even recall! 🙈 He first expressed an interest in potentially joining forces aaaaages ago (on a previous tour I was doing nearby his patch) but we’d never quite managed to make mutual availability work! Several attempts with my very strict/pre-planned tour dates just not working against his own diary, and it was almost time to give up! Nooooooooo! The very idea of that would be akin to very bad swear words given the absolute ball we had when we DID make it happen. 😂 Read on folksies...

So I was touring the sunny South again! This tour actually got thrown together relatively last minute for a few reasons: uncertainty with movement restrictions amid the pandemic, extra work in making the safe... Yada yada, it’s kind of par for the course when you do this full time as even though I have just a bloody laugh working with people like Barry - I also want people who book me to be as safe as poss/the worry to not override the good times! ☺️ Barry’s choice of studio and support in getting this shoot a reality this time was just on-the-ball! A nice spacious place to work (Penguin Studio) who had their own set of precautionary things on the go... Plenty of sets to keep us nice and busy with our brief... Great facilities for me to dump my entire house-worth of stuff between me and Barry running around bouncing off each other. 😆 The idea setting for us to reap utter mayhem basically! The challenge was on... The wasps were coming and the penguins had better have their wits about them! 🤣

Expanding on the above - Barry is such a legend where thinking out of the box is concerned! I do a LOT of styles: lots of serious arty stuff (which I love) but I’m a self-confessed nutter. 😅 And I simply adore expressing myself in more crazy sort of ways too. Well if there was one gentleman to bring all of that in a single shoot... *POINTS OVER TO BARRY MALLARD!* Yup! He’s your guy! I mean: I just have no words really. He took some inspiration from a self-made short film I’d created in a past lockdown which was rather flattering. We didn’t have quite enough time to do full blown waspie makeup (next time ey! 😉) but OMG the spin-off tributes we did around this idea was just the *bees knees!* I’ll get my coat... 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Then on to snazzy portraits (hey, any photographer who brings me chocolate props that I can guzzle straight after is already down for a banging’ reference!) Ooh, and who doesn’t love a touch o’ Twiggy-inspired beauty work?? We had a great moodboard to work from courtesy of Barry’s epic thinking and working prior to the shoot. More innovative explosiveness included going mad with high/quirky fashion looks using rather reflective props! 👀 Always great fun and games taming the light with this kind of look - but this guy? Pah! Nailed it! 👍 He was seriously right in the zone when we were shooting; a photographer that comes with bountiful enthusiasm and drive to achieve his target shots - also someone totally willing to bring the model in as part of that creative process and surf off teamwork vibes. ☺️ Definitely my kinda shoot!

So y’all can probably gather that we had a laugh and a half. 🤣 But silliness to one side for a sec: Barry bears a heart of gold. He’s such a lovely person and cared about lots of aspects to make me have as comfortable a shoot as possible - got me some choices of lunch in/had refreshments at the ready being one example. He is very chilled out and easy to get on with, all the while respecting the model in every sense and being extremely courteous in his etiquette. I found him just lovely to shoot with in all honesty - and of course I bloomin’ recommend him! ☺️ As a lovely human to be in the company of, and a great photographer to make images with.

Can’t wait for the next sesh of madness hehe! 😆

Had a lovely shoot with Barry in oxford this weekend.

He booked a great venue and ideas were flowing and as usual he brought lots of cool props and outfits.

Barry is a fun person to be around , he is full of positive energy and he really does make me feel full of life and adventure .

We have another date booked and hopefully we can find another amazing space , highly recommended as always

Had my first shoot with Barry, and hopefully there are many more to come. Communication was spot on before the shoot. Barry has many ideas and is happy for model contribution as well. He came prepared with a mood board and some cool props for me to work with too. 100% would recommend Barry :)

Barry, what can I say! An absolute joy to work with, not only a great fun photographer to work with but a very talented and smart and individual who bounces of the energy you give him! Barry ,what an absolutely wonderful and refreshing character to be around. He is exciting,he is fun and he never fails to amuse me . His face just makes me laugh,if anything (in a good way ,I promise !).. (oh and that's a compliment,obviously)..

His input to our shoot is the best!he brings lunch and he really treats you like a professional model.

Wow! What a fun and brilliant man Barry is . He come well equipped to shoot and supplied me with some SUPER HOT Calvin klieners💪.. The shoot was whacky and I super enjoyed Barry's input! I deffo bounce off my photographers and Barry is definitely one of those guys .

The time just flew by and we had a great laugh and I'm eager to shoot again!

I had a productive shoot with Barry during a duo shoot at Pauls's Studios. I wasn't on my top form due to personal reasons but Barry took that on form and we still strived through the shoot and got some great images. Barry had great pre communications and came prepared with a mood board so we had an idea what to expect from the shoot. Through the shoot, barry worked as a team and took on board any comments I had. He was respectful and I felt comfortable through the whole shoot. Perhaps shoot again when I'm on better form, Thanks Jessica x

Barry recently attended a 1-to-1 studio lighting workshop at my studio. Charming, respectful and friendly, Barry was a joy to work with and to teach. Already having an excellent understanding of photographic techniques he was able to easily grasp the lighting concepts I taught and produced many excellent images throughout the day and I have no doubt he will use these new skills to great effect. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Barry and I sincerely hope to see him back here again before too long.

Recently had my very first shoot with the lovely barry. I must say he put quite a lot of effort into pre-shoot communication to ensure we were on the same page and to help gather some themes and ideas which for me was very helpfull and also showed me that he was interested in the shoot which is a positive start. We managed to get some key ideas and themes planned out this way to make the shoot more creative and productive and gave us some directions to aim for :p

Even before the shoot barry was a joy to work with.

On the day of the shoot a proper studio was booked and all arrangements made for my travel with expenses covered. I must say throughout the whole experience the ease and comfort for me as the model was utmost.

Barry himself was polite and professional but also warm and easy to get to know and it now feels as if we are good friends.

Time raced by in the shoot as we were both engaged with the ideas we were capturing.. This led to a fun, exciting shoot leaving us wanting more!

I found barry great to work with, he explains what he is wanting to capture but is also keen and willing to work on the models own ideas too. He was positive and energetic about our work which is also great for me as a model as it leads me to be more creative and be comfortable being myself. Throughout he was able to offer direction where needed and to show the images we were capturing.

I loved every minute of our shoot and firmly believe any model to work with barry is very lucky and in for a wonderful experience

Iv shot with Barry quite a few times now and all have been a great laugh but our most recent yet iv got say was awesome! I had the pleasure of shooting with his pride and Joy's over the weekend and what a pleasure it was! Me and Barry get along amazing as a team And I cant wait for our next adventure, Barry is a great photographer all round who puts great detail and design into his work. Any model who works with Barry is very lucky! #brumbrum x

I've had two shoots with Barry now, yes just starting out with imagery but his creative styles and people skills know no bounds.

Hes full of energy like a young pup and he will do anything to make sure his models are feeling happy.

His shoots are memorable even if the train services come to a complete halt. 😂
