had a grate shoot with the Bard again today at captain jacks ,, top place chosen by the bard. we got through many sets ,, of Ciarons extensive collection of characters ,, we did the matrix ,, cowboy,, pirate,, noble warrior,, mad max.. a grate time was had ,, highly recommend a shoot with the bard..

I’ve recently returned from one of the most interesting, unusual and enjoyable shoots I can remember when I met up with some fellow photographers to photograph ‘The Bard’(Ciaron).

We spent the day photographing different themes in what what must be one of the most original studios in the north, a nice big studio packed full of weird and wonderful stuff which could be used as props along with the various sets. The guys that ran it couldn’t have been more friendly.

Ciaron is someone whose style of modelling is simply so different and I’d wanted to work with him for a long time, always admiring the terrific shots that appear every so often so when I saw his casting call I got my place booked in as soon as I could. His acting background is so evident and I think, must be a great asset in making the dramatic shots which are his hallmark.

He’s a real workhorse. There’s no time wasted with him and apart from a short break for lunch we worked steadily throughout the day. His fitness and energy are very evident! When I asked him as we were nearing the end of the shoot if he was tired he gave me a sort of baffled look and simply said ‘no!’ Thanks to his upbeat personality and general enthusiasm, together with some very good company, namely the other photographers who attended that day I can honestly say the it was one of the best shoots I’ve ever attended and I’m certainly hoping to go on further of his shoots.

Well what can we say - we had an outstanding session with Ciaran in our small home studio. His costumes were excellent- his poses and input to the shoot created a very relaxed atmosphere and added to the quality of images. His banter meant that at times we had to stop as we were laughing so much.

His relaxed, creative and charming demeanour brushed off on us all.

lets hope we can get together in the near future.

For yet another in our series of creative cosplay shoots, Ciaron arrived on this occasion with full cowboy costume and 6 shooter. We were able to create a series of fun and inventive cameos combining The Bard's authentic costumes with various props and accessories from the studio which, together with Ciaron's characterisation, guaranteed a first class set of images

I met this wonderful gentleman at an event him and his partner had organised. I provided makeup for a short film and there were photographers taking behind the scenes pics. He organised the day and sorted so many wonderful creatives. An absolutely lovely person to work with.

Yet another fun and creative shoot with Ciaron, The Bard, this time covering an eclectic mix of themes from Jason in Fri 13th, Stream Punk fantasy to a full wizard costume. The Bard, as usual, provided his authentic costumes and I was able to throw in some of our studio props which combined to produce a varied series of striking images. Yet again highly recommend.

Organised a small group shoot with Ciaron at our club rooms, and it could not have gone better. He arrived in plenty of time with a large selection of outfits and accessories, and we got through an impressive amount of work covering about eight different characters in four hours. Ciaron always brings the character to match the costume, and we all got some great shots. Very easy to work with, and more than willing to go along with anything we threw into the mix. Look forwards to working together again in the future.

Another enjoyable and very creative shoot with The Bard, this time covering 30s Latin American gangster and Steam Punk themes. Ciaron always arrives at every shoot with a new costume and together with the props in our studio we were able combine forces to produce some amazing shots. Ciaron always commits 100% to characterisation and authenticity and I look forward to future collaborations.

Yet another great shoot with Ciaran and this time he arrived with Musketeer and Napoleonic soldier costumes complete with all accessories including hats, swords, daggers, and an old compass. Not only does Cairan supply fully authentic costumes but he also gets into character when wearing them including dramatic fencing moves and many different poses that are enormously helpful when creating images. We covered a number of diffident scenarios and I'm very pleased with the fantastic set of images that have resulted from the shoot.

Finally got to met Ciaron at a recent workshop organised by Mainshoot and it was a pleasure working with him. He modelled Obi-Wan Kanobi and whilst we got to experiment with lighting and gels he showed amazing patience. Holding a light sabre for a couple of hours and taking direction on minor adjustments is hardly the drama and action he is used to! He is a friendly guy with a tremendous knowledge about movies and we secured lots of great images as he sorted out the Galaxy. Will be working with Ciaron again on some more' planet-earth' based historic looks and thoroughly recommend him especially to those looking to add a different dimension to their portfolio. I wanted to include more male model looks to mine and succeeded in adding something dramatic, powerful, moody and cosplay all at once. Thanks Ciaron.

As Jann comments below we had a great day! It was the first time I'd worked with a male model in a studio setting but Ciaran is a great guy who knows exactly the look and mood to match whatever costume he's in. I've actually got loads of great images to edit up,Thanks again Ciaran for a great day. Thoroughly recommended and I'll see you again soon

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

Ciaron came to Studio91 yesterday, I shot with another photographer Ridefree68 and we had a lovely relaxed laid back day which resulted in some awesome images. Ciaron brought 6 outfits , goodness knows how he packed them up into bags to travel on the train, there were so much material! Lovely day altogether, thanks Ciaron , hopefully we will get to shoot again some time. A lovely guy - don’t hesitate to book him! Best wishes Jann

Had our 2nd shoot with Ciaron @ Atlas Studios. We covered 4 very different characters/themes, which he pulled off brilliantly. It's wonderful to work with such an acomplished model. His versatility to adapt to each of the characters is amazing. Ciaron sources & supplies all his own costuming and they are very authentic.

He's a truly impressive model and an absolute joy to work with, we managed to create some very moody images. Looking forward to editing them.

For those of you that haven't yet had a photoshoot with Ciaron; you are missing a treat; he has a huge wardrobe of very authentic costuming and the skill & expertise to give you some very memorable shots.

Thank you Ciaron, hope you enjoyed the shoot as much as we did and will certainly be arranging another further shoot with you.

Did a shoot with The Bard at a fine art Shoot at AWOL studios in Manchester. He was brilliant, really got into character and just smashed it out of the park. He really looked the part. Highly recommended.

Had our very 1st shoot with Ciaron at the CWG Kearsley. He is a truly amazing guy, multi-talented, engages well with photographers and an absolute pleasure to work with.

Ciaron is very professional, his work ethic is off the scale and so very easy and engaging to work with.

His characterization is superb; his costuming and props are very authentic - he certainly brings to life all the characters he portrays - very impressive model and a thoroughly nice guy too.

Our 3 hour shoot passed so quickly, could have happily just carried on shooting - thank you so much for a really enjoyable shoot.

I'm sure our paths will cross again.

Another very successful costume shoot with Ciaron. This time the theme was a Celtic/Viking warrior and Ciaron arrived with full outfit including leather jerkin, hooded cloak and a yet another fantastic sword. As usual Cairon brought extra characterisation and drama to the shoot and we were able to create some moody retro theatrical black and white shots followed by some exciting cinematic images. Thanks again for a very fruitful collaboration.

Ciaron very kindly agreed to come along to my studio and shoot for some characterful portrait sessions I'd arranged for my camera club.

What an absolutely incredible day we had shooting pirates, tudors, swords and amour as well as some low light scifi shots too.

Such a talented model who brought way more than modelling to the shoot.

The camera club members loved the shoot and all got images they were extremely pleased with (as did I).

Really look forward to working together again in the future.

Great shoot with Ciaron yesterday, bringing a lot of drama to a headshot shession without being low-key. Good ideas, and a nice chap to boot! Even had time for portraits which i'm looking to get into editing.
