References for Aurora Phoenix

Good Gosh!

I had a fun shoot with Aurora just before Xmas and even on the busiest travel day of the year, she braved the trains and arrived promptly and even came bearing shortbread :) I have been off the circuit for 5-6 years now making this my first shoot with a model in a long time, so there was some anxieties going in.

We shot some wacky fun videos and she gave a great performance, although our disciplines may not always fully align (in the film industry it is required of us to document literally everything to ensure a shoot has absolutely no surprises) her comms were excellent throughout, where the pre-shoot plans were shifting and evolving she was accomodating and remained enthusiastic from the word go.

And it helped me learn some important lessons, most of all that Aurora is someone you can work with who will deliver what you're looking for without the need for any extensive planning. That is to say, she knows what she's doing very much - so you should just go shoot with her!

I do hope we can collaborate again in the future. She brings a lot to the lens, and no doubt a rising video star. Let's just not shoot out of my dusty flat next time...! Merry Christmas, Aurora!

My long, very overdue, second shoot with Aurora!

Everything went pretty well, we met up beforehand, to go to the studio (The Corridor Studio in Poplar) together. Shoot went very well, have to wait for the results when my films are processed. Wanted to work with Aurora again on this project, as we worked on my first attempt with UV photography, though she still didn't quite understand which colours work best under UV light, with the outfits she'd brought along, other than a latex dress, the better results should be with the UV reactive make up.

Hope to book Aurora again for a third UV shoot, when she's next on tour in London :)

I can't recommend Aurora enough, if you can shoot with her, then do.

After a far too long break I had the pleasure of shooting with Aurora again today.

We shot in a great space of which I'm rather envious and Aurora had a really great selection of wardrobe options.

the tome flew by and we captured some great images and i'm already looking forward to the next time we can shoot together.

Diffused Light

I shot with Aurora for the first time, it was a lot of fun and we got some great results! I responded to a casting call that Aurora had put out during her London tour. Pre-shoot communication was fantastic, it was super easy to find a time and location that worked for us both.

On the day Aurora was very patient as I set up the studio space, and at no point did anything feel at all rushed. She brought with her an amazing collection of latex outfits and was more than happy to suggest combinations that she thought would work well.

During the shoot Aurora offered a huge variety of poses without direction and was confident in suggesting things that she thought might work.

The shoot absolutely flew by, and I think we got some great results. I'd 100% love to work with Aurora again soon!

Lovely first shoot with Aurora at a beautiful town house in London

Aurora was great and very friendly, This was one of my first non studio shoots so I was a little slow in getting some good lighting setup that worked with the area's we had to shoot, but Aurora was very patient and helpful.

Aurora is a very proficient and professional model able to pose without direction but also willing to take feedback where something needed to be adjusted, we had a great time during our 4 hours together and I've hade already booked in another session later in January

I recently had my first shoot with Aurora and it was an absolute pleasure. We had a 4 hour shoot in Wimbledon as part of her pre-Chrismas London tour and the time went past so quickly. Pre-shoot coms were quick, simple and uncomplicated.

I arrived at her house for the shoot and she was ready with a warm welcome and we spent a little time getting to know each other of a lovely coffee and then checked out the shoot areas and picked a couple of favourite spots. We seemed to get through quite a few sets up to implied nude and had plenty of time for chats in between sets. Aurora had with her plenty of beautiful outfits to choose from and her posing is delicately refined with lots of beautiful poses to draw from, she needs no direction but encourages input and direction from the photographer and works hard during the shoot. We had the opportunity to shoot under studio and natural light conditions, the house does give plenty of natural light opportunity.

Aurora is friendly, professional and easy to shoot with, she is confident in front of camera and I absolutely recommend her to professional, amateur and hobbyist photographers 100% and I am very happy with the results

I had my first shoot with Aurora yesterday. It started with an exchange of messages in which we discussed ideas. We found plenty which we both liked. Great organization.

On the day, everything continued smoothly. We had a great shoot and I love the results. Aurora was easy and fun to work with. I expect to shoot her again; maybe I will head over her way when the weather is better and try some of the outdoor ideas which we discussed.

Our 2nd shoot stemmed as before from a message. Aurora giving me a heads up on her tour to Gloucester due in December 2023.

Fortuitously I was in a position to do so. So, in the meantime keeping her advised was able to book her for 2 hours. From 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Sunday 10th December 2023.

I know from our first shoot we should be able to get a lot done as expected to get twice the shooting time from our first shoot in Bath. She can keep up with me.

Communication was as before a pleasure, back and forth in detail. Before, during and after the shoot. So easy to arrange and organise.

Due to the bus on time and train arriving early and some kind help. I am there early at the home of Dasphotouk Dave. So with a bit of time to wait. Aurora comes in with a warm welcome and it is like just 7 months have not passed since our first shoot in Bath.

So, chatting away, so easy to talk to, very bright, interested, helpful, ideas.

Off to photographing. As an aside Dasphotouk Dave’s place is as perfect a location to photograph as any studio. He already has it!

The sun came out and it brightened up on cue, light streaming in. Most appropriate as I am about to photograph Aurora!

Many varied looks and sets and we made as much use of parts of Dasphotouk Dave’s place as possible in the time.

Aurora is very quick at changing into different looks and we certainly made use of some new items of clothing she had and shot some implied and concealed nudes as planned.

It should be no surprise that I am more than just happy with the results!

410 shots in 2 hours. Many, many absolute gems to choose from!

The aspect of character that sticks in my mind with Aurora is Professionalism!

She has a lovely classical English look and figure. A lovely dress sense. A pleasure to spend time with photographing. Intellect!

I do like she will pipe up promptly if something is not good or a problem and suggest a solution. No US vs THEM, no trial of strength here. A collaboration as per the meaning of the word.

Fab posing, in addition to portrait/fashion, lingerie too, dressed up or dressed down.

Even my Polaroid t-shirt that I had brought along. Capture and Remember indeed, a most fitting shorthand for Aurora!

Versatility, nothing she doesn’t do to the best of her ability!

Talkative. Has a good understanding of what works also from the photographer’s perspective.

A photoshoot is not always relaxing and lately I have understood it is better, while normally not possible for me, to book for a minimum of 3 hours. In order to avoid the pressure of packing in as much shooting in the time available, more flexibility for problems and plan and experiment more precisely to get the shots. Such as I was fortunate to do in my previous shoot photographing freespirit in Worcester in November 2023.

Yet this was one of the most relaxing and pleasurable shoots with excellent results, naturally, that I have ever had!

Those kind, happy vibes I get when shoots go well with the right model. Whether first time or eight times and counting.

I don’t know when I will shoot again after my remaining 2 planned shoots, but I wouldn’t even need to think about photographing Aurora.

It is so nice to know you have models you can product excellent results with and enjoy it too!

A truly lovely lady of wide expertise and intellect.

A little trouble I had afterwards with the Trains but more than worth it doing this shoot.

I more than recommend Aurora for anything she is capable of and happy to do!

A fabulous and enjoyable time with excellent results guaranteed!

It would be nice to make it a hat trick soon into 2024!

dasphotouk Dave

It was fabulous to have Aurora staying again while on her Gloucester tour. Her communication was excellent, I always knew what was going on with her tour and she kept me up to date on her bus journey to make it easy to pick her up from the bus stop.

We managed to fit in some great shoots while we were. Aurora suggested some locations and themes, and was good enough to shoot plenty of Christmas ideas for me. She is fun to shoot with, always suggesting ideas and improvements. She is very friendly and open and chatty, she makes an excellent house guest. All the photographers seemed to have a great shoot also, she is easy to get along with.

A fantastic model to work with, hopefully she is coming back to the area again soon. Thanks Aurora, highly recommended!

Finally managed to get a shoot with Aurora when she came to Gloucester on a mini-tour (hosted by dasphotouk Dave).

The shoot went well as Dave has a lovely home and is very accommodating and Aurora was on top form. We shot a good range of outfits from a black leather corset and stockings to soft lingerie to just her birthday suit in the shower! Aurora was very easy to work with and keen to get the best results. We checked the results on the back of the camera as we went along and some on Dave’s big screen in the living room while we had our “half-time break” to make sure that they were turning out as planned.

I think that we both had fun and are happy with the results of our efforts.

Highly recommended.

This was my second shoot with Aurora and it was, as expected, very good. Comms were good before the shoot and although our time was to be limited, we managed to get some great images.

Aurora and I had a good natter during the shoot, she creates a very relaxed atmosphere in which to work, but as before it flew by and in what seemed no time at all she was off to her next shoot.

Her outfits are always spot on for the themes I am looking to shoot and she instinctively seems to know most of the poses I’m looking for but is happy to take direction when asked. It was really good to shoot with Aurora again and I can highly recommend her to any photographer or studio – you won’t be disappointed…

Wonderful, fun shoot with Aurora as part of a group shoot organised by Simons photography in Faversham.

Aurora was brilliant; modelling a fabulous range of cosplay outfits.

The quality of her modelling was first class. She was able to relate to the different photographers styles and directions. Very professional, superb style. Great at posing and working with the photographer to get the best image.

Came away with some fantastic images. It was an absolute treat to work with Aurora.

Look forward to working with her again soon.

Today I had the pleasure of shooting with Aurora at a group shoot arranged by Simons Photography. Aurora is beautiful, fun, engaging and professional. We shot 4 different cosplay looks. The shoot was great fun and Aurora played the part of each of her characters really well, posing with ease and taking on ideas from other photographers. Everything leading up to the shoot was perfect; Aurora passed on all the necessary information in a timely manner.

It was something of a change to have a shoot outside of my studio; however, owing to ongoing maintenance work in the building I felt it easier, and less dusty, to agree to shoot in the apartment Aurora had booked. It was well located with pay and display parking just across the road.

It took only a few moments to agree a running order for the shoot based on clothes and the look I had in mind.

Aurora moved through the different looks easily and was happy to take any suggestions I had re poses but wasn't afraid to offer her own suggestions too, which were appreciated.

A quick review of the images from the shoot has shown that there are some great images however, owing to other commitments it may be a week or so before I have the time to review in more detail and upload on Purpleport.

Hopefully the next time Aurora is in the area my studio will be usable and we can arrange another shoot.
