I call this "grey key" because the background is not white like in high key. It is like drawing on grey cardboard: With a pencil (or charcoal) you move from grey to darker tones. But then you can set additional highlights with white. So look at the left side of her body: The contrast is not dark against a light background (like on the right side), but white against a grey background. This gives a more plastic impression.
