So I thought I'd better update my profile notes, as I realised I hadn't bothered since I started my portfolio, and allegedly I have "More than 5 years experience" now.
So 5 years on and what's changed? - Probably not a lot. I've got more experience under my belt (most of it good), and have worked with some fantastic models and photographers over the last few years, so as a result my love of photography has not diminished.
I'm still rubbish at directing models, as anyone that has worked with me would let you know, but hopefully muddle through things to get some pleasing results. My planning is still a bit haphazard as well, and I tend to turn up with too many ideas than we may have time for, and in the end winging it with one or two specifics thrown in ends up being the result.
I've still not really developed a "style", and just like to work with various different types of model with different styles and in different settings. I love location shoots (and haven't done enough of them), so that's something I want to try and do more of in the future, as well as other things on the to-do list like light painting (Eric Pare style), playing with smoke bombs, more gobo work etc. When I'm not shooting this sort of stuff I'm probably doing some wildlife, architecture, macro, sport, astrophotography as my mind flits from one thing to another. Jack of all trades and master of none :)
For me this is a fun distraction from work and the real world and whilst I can't see this developing beyond a hobby activity at all it's something that I intend to pursue whilst I have some free time and most importantly am having fun doing it.
So thanks to those I've worked with over the last 5 years, and I look forwards to working with more of you over the next 5.
