This is part of a lens test of the Tamron 150-600mm G2. It the first time I've used it and it's not the sort of lens you would normally pick for theatre work, especially hand held. I was surprised at how well it coped! It is a little lighter than it's rivals and although it's a beast it is quite easy to work without a mono or tripod.
Technicals: This was a rehearsal shoot for a theatre company in a large hall using only the daylight coming through windows on the wall tops and just under the eaves. This shot at 600mm, ISO 2000,125th hand held with vibration control on @f6.3. You are seeing the full frame here from a D810. The only sharpening is a little from the Lightroom "export for screen" setting. This is far sharper than I had hoped from what is a cheap lens in comparison with it's rivals.
