Artemis India
In September 2017, Artemis Fauna and I travelled to India , specifically Rajasthan, for a model shoot. Our trip took us to New Dehli, Jaipur, Ajmer and Pushkar, covering in excess of 11,000 miles. During that trip, we hired two elephants, a camel and a white wedding horse. Unfortunately the wedding horse shoot had to be cancelled due to riots in Jaipur, during our last three days.
As the following images may show, this joint venture wasn’t specifically about India or Artemis, but a fusion of two different ingredients. It forced me to rethink my usual approach to model photography as much as it took Artemis out of her more usual modelling environment. We had to deal with hot, humid, post-monsoon weather, local sensitivities and curiosity and mind boggling traffic. It helped it immeasurably that apart from being an outstanding model, Artemis proved to be the ideal travelling companion.
In summary, it was an experience I shall treasure, so much so, that I am already planning my next venture to either Vietnam/Cambodia or Bali or wherever.
