My first twelve months of shooting

I first started picking up my camera properly twelve months ago.

Kicked off the year by obtaining my first photography qualification with the British Academy of Photography (I'm currently working on my second).

In March, I undertook my first model phtoshoot with Ash Rowley who agreed to be my guinea pig.

April saw me stepping back from modelling for a while as I undertook thoracic surgery however this has allowed my photography to flourish.

12 FPI's later and a runner up in the 'Visit Hampshire' landscape photography competition and a feature on Purpleport's blog, I can't quite believe now well my images have been received by everyone.

I've tried everything from natural light, continous to flash liggting set ups. There's still lots to learn and refine.

I just wanted to say a massive thankyou to everyone for their support and encouragement which only serves to motivate me to do better.

Art Asylum Reloaded Photo Studio yourself and the studio has played such a massive part in my development as a photgrapher.

You offer such a safe and non-judgemental place to shoot, offer help and advice where needed yet at the same time allowing space for people like myself to grow.

Your feedback has been invaluable and although you protest and say you don't teach me anything, you really do.

Ive said it before, you're a great teacher and many would do well to work with you and learn from your expertise.

PinPoint aww thankyou. I must profess being a model first, I think I had a massive advantage walking into this year in terms of lighting tricks I have learnt along the way, being able to spot a good imge and a decent level of edit.

I'm so looking forward to completing my second qualification and seeing what next year holds for me.
